This one was just okay, it’s kinda hard to follow the plot tbh Cos some stuff just feels like ur reading one thing and then the next something else is randomly happening and it’s hard to follow. I’m not really enjoying it as much as I was for volume one, it’s just as I said okay though confusing as hell for no reason. (this review will go for volumes 4 and 5)
I liked this volume more than the last. It has some really fun/cute moments, especially when the class takes a school field trip, which involves a camping trip in the mountains. This change of scenery allows for a lot of great character moments.
I think Ichika and the relationship with Aria is growing quite nicely. They feel like a real couple, and it works on a lot of levels, with the cuteness and funny bits. However, the volume also successfully introduces some tension when Ichika becomes upset after discovering that her best friend has been keeping a secret from her. This plot point is resolved through a genuine conversation and made their friendship feel very real.
I also enjoyed the ending, and was wondering when we'd get to some of the past! The volume features a long flashback detailing Aria's history with Ichika's grandmother, Chiyo, specifically covering Aria's three mistakes. This provided some great moments and much needed insight into Aria's centuries long past and her original deep connection to Ichika's family.
I will say there's some weird back and forth in time periods in the middle, jumping between the field trip and the historical flashback, but overall it worked to create a well-rounded and impactful read.
Well, finally some more story. Even the backstory, that we finally know, but Ichika still doesn't.
I wonder if the end of the manga will even answer all the questions or will it just conclude in the middle of nowhere? Because we're like 5 volumes in and barely anything has happened...
