I loved the adventure and the straight forward way the characters’ personas were portrayed. Fictional characters were seamlessly woven into actual history and geography

What did I like? This series was such a breath of fresh air. Living in the twenty-first century but knowing family members that date back to the late eighteenth century, I can relate to many of the adventures that Tate went through. All my life I have listened to the stories and read the accounts of many of my past relatives. They may be gone but they certainly are not forgotten, nor has their adventures. I think the way that the author wove his characters into history, bringing to life so many different reactions to real events was marvelous.
What will you like? If you love adventure, history, and amazing figures from our countries past, then you will enjoy this series. Bob created a man that carved out a place of recognition among the Native Americans and other mountain men. He met his match in a strong and forceful woman that would take no guff from neither man, woman, nor nature. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in B. N. Rundell's eloquent series about the trials, tribulations yet unimaginable joy of carving a life in the rugged mountains. His masterful development of the characters and his vivid descriptions of the scenery make you feel invested in this amazing life journey. With the love of his Heavenly Father as his guide, it was Tate Saint's personal mission to bring others to an understanding of what is required to live life abundantly with eternal life with the Father as the goal. Anyone who enjoys adventure, romance and tenacity will undoubtedly enjoy this series.
Saint starts out as a young man when his father is murdered by a cheating card player
Tate is then evicted from his home when the school board rides up to the cabin and says another school teacher is coming and needs the cabin to live in. Tate takes off for the mountains and on his journey west runs across other mountain men and cleans as much from them as possible. The first of his mentors is Kit Carson and becomes a lifelong friend. Tate also visits several Indian tribes and becomes known as Longbow.
Though a work of historical fiction with the truth of God included the author captures the true western expansion. Given the license of fiction the author has done his research and it shows. The crafting of love stories while telling of the hardship of living in the wilderness is well constructed. You'll meet historical characters and learn the way of life that existed during that period.
This book was a gift and I give an unbiased review and praise the author for including God and how he relates to the First Nation
The book Rocky Mountain Saint is one of the best books I have read lately. I am an avid reader, so I can say with the greatest reason, that I will definitely read this series again. I’m hoping and praying that the author B. N. Rundell will write more books, I would like to see more written by him The research into the history is outstanding. As I’m a history buff, I really, really liked this book. Thank you B. N. Rundell for this exciting book.
This Is hands down the best fiction (factually based) book I have read. It rivals the Bible in its narration of the Godly character of Tate Saint and his family. The evil characters rival the evil of the
the ungodly men in the Bible as well. While it is not the Bible it certainly shows how to honor God in our lives. In addition I learned much about that era. Well done Mr. Russell . I have and will recommend it to others. Sincerely, ON Abel
I love how the author draws you in and takes you on this journey of living faith. Writing so descriptive you feel the leather of the saddle and hear it creak as you join the ride into the lives of the characters. You are warmed by the fire in the protagonists heart for the Lord and life committed to doing what is right. Thank you B.N. Rundell. I look forward to each new blessing you put into print.
Very enjoyable. Well written and not too wordy. Anyone who enjoys reading especially about Colorado and the I dians would enjoy these stories. I chose this rating because of the story line and the descriptions of the Rockies.
Just a very good story. Would like to read more like it. My kind of reading, factual in part and fiction as well.
My family spent a week in Angel Fire, N.M. While there visited the Kit Carson Museum. I read a lot of books about mountain men, both fiction and historic. I really liked the religious theme of the series. I have read a lot of books about Kit Carson a nd liked the story line.
Held my interest the entire series. I came to love Tate n his family as Friend. Their admirable character and personal commitment to Jesus was inspiring. It would take a heart of stone to read this series and Not seriously consider or reconsider their own relationship with our Creator n His Son. Highly recommend to families with teenage boys.
I love this series! The books in this series can be read as stand-a-lone books I had read several of them that way. When I found this entire series offered I just had to read them. Tate Saint is a Christian Mountain man and he never fails to bring to Christ anyone he can. Excellent writing. Good stories.
Reading all the books, had me entertained for weeks. I just kept going on and on. All the characters were spot on. The description of the country and how they lived. Put me right there with them. The last book was the hardest to read. It was so heart breaking to see what the native people had to go through. Thank you for a great read. Keep up the good writting.
This collection of books by Mr. Rundell are some of the most interesting and entertaining books I’ve read. Each book has a clearly defined word of God on his free gift of salvation. I really hated for them to end. God has gifted this writer to share a story but also share the Good News. Read them. Big D
Altho fiction this work portrays many beautiful and remorseful truths. The progress of the founding of this nation, the importance of every individual, the wonder of families and the incredible beauty of earth. Add the beauty of God's word and plan for man to arrive at an incredible read.
I like the way all the books were one after another and all you had to do was flip a page to start another book. I believe that Buffalo book was out of sequence. I enjoyed the series. Hate the part on how the Navajo were treated. As a Pastor, liked how God's word was intermingled into the stories.
Brilliant series. This is actually my third reading of this series, twice in stand alone novels. This time I purchased the complete collection in one volume, handier for kindle readers. First time buyers won't stop reading reading this complete volume. Look forward to next series!
I have read all of these books in The Rocky Mountain Saint, and this one was more about love, relationships between two men, their women folk, their families, and their love of the mountains in their country; and not as much killings as per previous books..
Really enjoyed this series of books. The mixing of different people groups and cultures, the thought patterns behind a lot of western settlement and the mixture of reasoning concerning the removal and relocation of various Native American groups is almost a seminar of learning. The use of actual historic events enhances this story from beginning to end.
This bundle is my second reading of Tate Saint and family. I love the characters, wolves, horses, and adventures. The circumstances of some adventures is sad. Man's greed is never ending. All lives matter to God.
I like his way of telling the stories. Through different examples he shows how to use scripture to witness and lead people in his stories to the Lord! He truly follows Mathew 28:19-20. Thank you!
I really enjoyed and appreciate this author. No sex scenes. Caused me to lose sleep wanting to read on. I will strongly recommend this author to all of my reading friends, both Christian and lost sinners.
Historical Fiction at its best. Excellent writing. I could see the sunsets feel the breeze and smell the flowers. Rundle truly has the gift. He didn’t Hold back any of the truths of the time. It’s harsh and realistic. Very enjoyable.
I loved the historical accuracy of this series and I loved the messages through out. Thank you for keeping my mind focused on the story and the message of hope for all have fallen short of the glory of God. Bless You!!
I can’t begin to say how refreshing it was to read books without foul language and explicit sex scenes. I am a Christian and truly enjoyed the Christian leanings of the books. All 14 books kept my attention and made me want to read more of this author’s writings.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading these stories. At the end of the day however your day may have gone, it’s always great to climb in to one of Mr. Rundell’s books And submerse yourself in another world.
Boy, did I hate for this to end! You really get wrapped up in the lives of these characters and the world they live in! Wonderful way to put the plan of salvation in each book! Great story, great read!
