What a wonderful book! I would encourage Christians who are curious about the missions field to read it. I think the missionary life is too often romanticized— but the life is so far from that. It is difficult and truly a testing period.

Reimer and Bollback did two things in particular that stood out to me and truly inspired me within their missions. Number 1- obey the Lord’s calling. Number 2- trust that He would protect.

These are by no means easy, rather very challenging. It means dying to our wants, desires and anxieties. But by doing these 2 steps, I think they were able to accomplish what the Lord willed for them to do in Brazil. And I think if we do these steps, we can also achieve that which the Lord desires from us— TRUSTING & OBEYING! Living for Christ!

Overall, very good read. I read through it in one day-couldn’t put the story down! I am so encouraged.
