As someone of Irish descent who has visited Ireland twice, I found myself somewhat disappointed in this Celtic patterns coloring book. Most designs are way too simple to be truly meditative and enjoyable for an adult who likes to color for those reasons. The book has a fair number of Celtic crosses and Celtic knotwork. Some you can imagine seeing as an Irish brooch. I wish the publisher had drawn more inspiration from, say, the Book of Kells or other illuminated Irish manuscripts so the book could have had more complex Celtic patterns. I also thought some pages had far too much already filled in, with heavy, dark lines and sections. A coloring book page should have more spaces for coloring, not less than the structure would allow.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
I really enjoyed the designs in this coloring book. The 50 different designs are well drawn, sharp, intricate but not overly fussy, beautiful and very relaxing. I did color a number of the designs and liked the finished results. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves Celtic designs and wants to have some relaxation time.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was very relaxing to follow the twists and turns of the designs and the one with the ravens was a nice surprise. While I really enjoyed just tracing over the designs with my finger, I also enjoyed the novelty of coloring these designs.
A collection of Celtic patterns to colour. I have to say that I expected different designs from the ones in the book. I feel disappointed, but of course, this is just my opinion, and I can be wrong. My favourite is the one with the half-moons intertwined. Three stars and a half. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
