Tira’s dinosaurs now have foes that can match their might.
The Amedian’s betrayal has rocked the world, and the revelation of their ultimate weapon nearly spelled Tira’s doom. As the last surviving dungeon in the kingdom, Tira now finds herself overrun by adventurers and soldiers looking to increase their strength for the coming war.
She barely has time to deal with that, however. The dead dungeons have left entities that will break containment at any moment, Tira has to contend with a newborn core that is trying to hold in Refinael, and Tira is the only being with bigger concerns than Amedian dragons.
And still, in her depths, the now-active Summoning Gate stirs, and the horror it unleashed runs through the Lowerlands.
With titles of _Wrath_, _Pride_, and _Greed_ (upcoming) , I feel fairly secure in predicting that Mr. Raizman is intent on there being seven (or possibly fourteen, if he includes Virtues along with Sins as titles) novels in this series. Be that as it may (or may not) this is the second book I the Dinosaur Dungeon Series. I found it as interesting and entertaining as the first book and highly recommend it as well as this novel for those who enjoy the Fantasy, Dungeon Core, and LitRPG genres AND for those who like dinosaurs.
Remember: Dinosaurs are what happens when diplomacy fails!
Wasn't sure after book one but this one confirmed it.
This starts off well and goes along just fine till you get to the end. Then it gets hopelessly complicated and needlessly drawn out. This reminds me of an episode of 'Star Trek' where the first fifth minutes is set up and the last ten is a solution and wrap up. The problem is the first part and the second feel like two different books. Seeing as this is all a crossover set up, it makes sense. But that leaves this series as lacking in real story. This was a let down from what it could be of left to stand on it's own merits.
I love how Mr. Raizman writes his stories! There is action, some building, a bit of "sports announcing" when adventurers delve the dungeon and the core and others are watching, some mystery, some existential questioning, etc. The characters all feel solid to me as well and the pushing is good.
And, now it seems there are some spin-off series to read aa well. :)
Fast paced page turner with interesting characters that it's getting a little bit complicated to follow along or that could be the beer talking. Make up your own mind. I have enjoyed the series and will get the next book.
This book does include ALOT more action than the previous book. It's literally non stop.
It also includes LOTS of lore with the ability and ranks which is fun to figure out. Definitely loved this book. Tira is cool, and there is a big surprise at the end
Stellar work once again from Alex Raizman! Lots of action and adventure, dungeon building and mobs, heroes and horrors. Looking forward to the next one!
So I listen to most books due to my busy lifestyle, usually on my commute back and forth from work. However the second book of this series was not narrated when I finished the first one, though I believe it is being worked on. I couldn't wait though, I had to continue on to the next book, and it just kept getting better... Until I realized it was over with the third book still being worked on. So, if you like dungeon core books, dinosaurs, pillows, dragons, and amazing characters, then you'll probably be as hooked as I was.
Tira is working with her new bonded dungeon. She is focused on starting her third level and helping him start his first. It has been slow without the adventurers. She’s recovering from the dragon attacks in her dungeon and just wants to get set back up. Is that too much to ask?
I’m ashamed to admit that I had to look up almost all of the dinosaurs. Most fantasy creatures I can picture immediately, real dinosaurs, not so much. It is so fun to see these creatures used as dungeon mobs. I love the story and characters. Book 3 can not come out soon enough!
Book 2 was a stellar continuation of the series, it has all the same humor and personality of book 1 while carrying on the story in a fun arc. There were several interesting twists in the book that I enjoyed, and I'm really looking forward to how book 3 plays out. I'm very curious to see how the humans in the book deal with the dungeon symbiosis as the series progresses.
This book really ramps up the action from the last one and that one was fine. Lots of world building as well to make the tropes it's own. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Error! Book ended before I was ready! Roar! I mean more! Need so much more of this series! Dinosaurs and crises and snark just equals massive amounts of awesome reading.
Raizman and Sound Booth Theater knocks it out of the park once again!
The dragons have been dealt with, but not everything is cute cuddly, nose bopping, raptors, and sunshine.
New problems are obviously solved with more and bigger Dinosaurs! The Tyrant King will walk amongst man for the first time but will it be big enough to deal with the new threats? You'll have to find out.
Concepts that sound like the imagination of a 5yo boy with his toy Dino's become a masterfully woven story at the hands of Raizman and brought to life by the magic of SBT! I'm starting book 3 already, well worth the read.
Pride by Alex Raizman: LitRPG Dinosaur Dungeon fantasy. Secondary world. Reincarnation. Action. Found Family. Friendships. Progression. Magic. Multiple POV. Satisfying injury tropes. Character Development. Allies. Suspense.
How much did I liked it? 5 stars Ideas - World Building: 5 Stars Ideas - Plot: 4.8 Stars (slightly repetitive, but not much) Emotional highs and lows: A story with positive undertones with moments of suspense and high stakes. Character Depth: 5 Stars Character interactions: Extensive Animal Characterisation: Above Standard Non-human Characterisation: Above Standard Content Warning: Moderate violence and mild gore. Execution (proofreading): 4.3 Stars
The story isn't bad and there are interesting parts but there are way to much stuff going on in these books. Rather then having a central conflicting issue there is like 5 problems going on in this story at once.
- war with the other country - stopping the release of the beings - Fight The Stranger - legacy dungeon integration - fight the dragons
Another fun ride. I enjoyed the dungeon building and getting some perspectives from the diving adventurers. There was a broader plot that gave the book some more direction and the book finishes nicely. All in all, we got bigger and badder dinosaurs.
This book was excellent.. As I said the Tira is a big dinosaur fan. Creating species of dinosaurs by combining parts of others. It was interesting that parts of her become cores in their own right.
Rawr! Dinosaurs fight dragons. Dinosaurs beat up heroes. Dinosaurs march across the topside world. Dungeons build. Dungeons fight heroes. Dungeons fight terrifying entities from beyond time. They also go a little bit crazy. Tom out
I still don't understand anything about the dungeon mechanics, and this still needs an editor. The fighting was a bit less obnoxious than in the last one, and I like the underlying plot. Will be reading the next one.
