This books title is true to form and full of extreme horror. Just when you thought it was at its most extreme, you read something worse right up til the very end. This has it all, from brutality and gore, to sexual deviance. It is definitely not for those whom are easily offended or even slightly squeamish. I love the extreme and even I was taken aback at parts. All this said it was a really good read and had you hooked with each page. You are drawn into the sick world of each story and engrossed in each horror, not able to turn away. Each storyline is so captivating with characters old and young from all backgrounds, that you can envision them at their best or worse. A sick read but great read and one of definitely recommend to extreme horror readers.
absolutely noped out of this one. I'm pretty biased though, can't stand violence inflicted upon pregnant women, babies, or children. For that reason had to put this one down pretty early.
A book that takes inspiration from the most disturbing films around like August Underground, The Devil's Rejects, and more. A book that is completely unoriginal and is shocking and edgy just for the sake of being shocking and edgy. Not even a horror novel. Just an angsty attempt at showing how "tortured" the author is. I went into this with high hopes, but I didn't even make it past the 3rd story and was left totally unimpressed and disappointed. A possession with a lot of cussing, eating of fecal matter, a priest with secrets, where has this all been seen before? Oh yeah. Everywhere.
I loved all of Nelson Samuels short stories in Sick. His writing style has a way of drawing you in and making the stories more personable and believable. This was the first book of Nelson Samuels that I've read but it's definitely not going to be the last 10/10 👍
