Absolutely beautiful. I read this as webtoon last year (thank you, Devon) and became obsessed with how gorgeous it was, the amazing characters, and of course the plot. I now own a physical copy and it is STUNNING. It’s published in English by Inklore and go get it, you will not regret it. I wish Goodreads allowed videos or at least pictures because it’s 🔥🔥🔥

Hands down the best manga I have ever read. I never thought BL series could have such a well-developed story until I found out about "King's Maker".
In this Fantasy Bl manga we are following Wolfgang Goldenleonard, our KING and Shin Soohyuk, the KING MAKER. We follow their story as they form an unlikely alliance as children and as they grows up as something more. The synopsis is kinda like this... Wolfgang Goldenleonard has been living on the streets for much of his life, hiding his true identity as the fourth prince of a crooked kingdom wrought with corruption. But when things take a turn and he is forced to move into the royal palace, he catches the attention of Shin Soohyuk, an intelligent but mysterious boy who is looking for someone to play the leading role in a daring scheme... Can Soohyuk turn a rough-and-tumble street urchin into a sophisticated royal? And will Wolfgang be able to reclaim a dark legacy and transform it into something golden?
Now, King's Maker is the book I have searching for since forever. It was right here. I didn't even notice! I love both the adult fantasy and bl genre, And this series the most unique combination of these two. It's not a simple bl story, but much more than that. I love the plotline, the political turmoil, the romance. The characters are gems. The art style is gorgeous. This manga series is one of a kind. I can't recommend it enough. Please read it!

Ahem…the emojis pretty much sum up how I felt about the first volume about King’s Maker, technically IT WAS SO GOOD 😍🫶 I became obsessed after just a few pages of this manhwa, not gonna lie my expectations weren’t that high when I picked it up but that honestly just made it better…I was so surprised to see how pretty (gorgeous) the art was, and the story is so interesting you won’t be able to put it down!! Please read it!! Veryyyyy highly recommended!!

General Comment: The thing that I love the most about King's Maker is that it is true to its genre and it never shies away from being too cruel and for showing what it's like to be in a court politics. I am so amazed how well-developed the story was and how the characters are crafted in a way that you fall in love with them as soon as they were introduced. The romance is not the main focus but it's there and it is developed smoothly and flows naturally which I love the most. I never once found myself bored while reading this and King's Maker surprises me how dark, serious and refreshing this manhwa was since it's not something you will find everyday in other stories. It is obvious that King's Maker was created by someone who is passionate about telling us this kind of story and it shows.

This is season one of the story and I’m mind blown. I didn’t expect the story to be so well written. The author did a great job making some characters lovable and hateful. I realized she also wrote For The Sake of Sita, which I read a few yrs back I think. There is mystery, political situations and being helpless and powerless in front of a tyrant. All the ups and downs intricately weave the final picture and ideas. A must read><

I can't recommend this series enough. This is my favourite BL manhwa in existence alongside Dark Heaven. Wolfgang and Shin have come so far 💛💙💛💙

I thought it will be just simple easy read, but end up mind-blowned by the story. The drawings are sooooo beautiful especially the dance part.

This manhwa is a masterpiece in the making. From the flow of the story to the art, to the script and everything else, King's Maker is truly on a tier of its own.
My short review will never do the story justice, it's the kind that you have to experience it on your own and set your soul on this tumultuous journey. The plot thickens with every season as we weather through the hardships and internal struggle of each characters.

Finally I gave this a try on Tappytoon (it's also available via Lezhin) and soon in paper too, and I loved it. The art is amazing, I loved the drawing and colouring and the story is good if a bit rushed at times. I had some problems with time transition. I don't know if it's due to translation but it was difficult to have a sense of the passing of time because it's not clearly stated through dialogue. Fortunately the authors do a good job showing it through their drawing.
The plot (the review is for the whole series) touch hard themes so this isn't for the faint of heart. I had a very hard time during some parts of the plot. .
I liked how this ended. , because they have a huge job in front of them. I'm going to read Triple Crown to see how their journey ends.

There is something rotten in the kingdom and Wolfgang knows that since he was 8 and his mother helped him escape from their burning castle and told him never to reach out to his father. A fish always rots from the head down and no one knows that better than Soohyuk, every time the king is sending him to another noble who likes to tell him a fairytale or so they say because he's part of the kings collection of beautiful boys. Now after a hideous plot of the king Wolfgang is back at the palace as the 4th prince, balky and stubborn but somehow Soohyuk is seeing something in him maybe because he spent his life on the streets and isn't infected by the mildew that spread into every corner of the royal court. So reluctantly he takes the prince under his wing, always wary of the king and his temper.
It's the first book of the series and the story is supposed to be read by all ages, so it takes its time and some parts are only hinted at (you know, that odd idea of all-ages suitability where telling about murdering boys is okay but not what really happens at story book time) but you only have to look at the dead, seen-it-all eyes of Soohyuk to understand what's at stake. Wolfgang needs a bit more time to understand, so there are also humorous scenes and first waves of teenage jealousy but at the end of this book their romance didn't start yet, we have no idea yet about the reason of the arson or why the king was so hellbent on getting his son back to ignore him completely afterwards and we still have to meet the other princes. However at the end of this book the fourth prince is starting to see the situation he's in and that it's more than only rebelling against a cold father.

برای اولین بار بلاخره مانهوایی پیدا کردم که هم گرافیک طراحی از نظر من عالی بود همچنین داستانش واقعا میگم یچیزیش برام جالب بود که اصلا هیچ صحنه نداشت فقط در حد یه کیس بود برای همین (ازنظر من تمام سنین میتونن بخونن)فصل اولش به پایان رسیده فصل دومش هم در حال انتشار.
فقط اون پنج ستاره ای که گودیرز به این مانهوا داده بیشتر از این حقشه باید صدتا ستاره بگیره.

Me gustó, un poco compleja, cosa que me gustó. Pero yo como amante del romance, casi no hubo y cuando apareció fue demasiado inesperado y los saltos temporales o no los explican o soy tonta (puede ser la segunda).
Sacando eso muy bella historia y me hizo acordar a mis personajes, así que nada, los quiero.

✧ Está historia es muy rápida de leer por lo bonito que son sus paneles, la trama es muy interesante y aparte es muy cortita, que se lee en menos de un día. Aquí podemos encontrar a Wolfgang, uno de los herederos del rey, quien tras ser encontrado conoce a Shin, una de las “posesiones” del rey, y por lo tanto que se hablen, se conozcan o se enamoren está completamente prohibido, pero eso es justo lo que ocurre. Wolfgang queda flechado a primera vista de Shin y le promete liberarlo y a cambio Shin lo ayudará a convertirse en el siguiente rey.
✧ Te amo tanto Wolfgang. No saben lo mucho que me encanta su personalidad, es tan divertido, amable, honesto, bondadoso, valiente, etc. Llegó como un rayito de luz a la vida de Shin y la forma en que vemos que se enamoró desde el principio es tan linda, ir viendo como poco a poco se van conociendo mejor y se apoyan mutuamente me da mil años de vida, así como la forma en que se nota que es muy inteligente y nunca se rinde, él es el mejor rey que podrían llegar a tener💛.
✧ Shin es un personaje tan inteligente, es la mente maestra detrás de un gran plan; me duele todo lo que estuvo pasando por años con el maldito del rey; es tan bonito cuando conoce a Wolfgang porque él hace que ría genuinamente y se olvide de las cosas desagradables qué tiene que soportar, ilumina su oscuro mundo. Admiro tanto como pese a todo nunca pierde la esperanza y lucha por ayudar a Wolfgang a ser mejor en todos los sentidos y también por alcanzar finalmente su libertad.
✧ Esos últimos capítulos son lo mejor, ver finalmente la pelea entre el rey y su hijo (Wolfgang) es de lo más satisfactorio, espero que el viejo asqueroso se pudra en el infierno por todo el daño que le ha causado a los demás. Tengo muchas ganas de leerme la siguiente temporada de este manhwa y saber que es lo siguiente que les depara a mis nenes Shin y Wolfgang🏳️🌈❤️.

This is an amazing comic! The story is riveting and pulls you in right from the start. The characters are well thought out and consistent. And the artwork is absolutely stunning. I can't think of another comic that is as beautiful as this one. My only negative is that the pacing can be a bit off sometimes. One chapter will end with a really emotional scene and, rather than getting that developed in the next chapter, it will just skip 3 months ahead for some reason. That said, I still would consider this one of the best I've read. I would definitely recommend it with a warning the story is dark and covers some disturbing subject matter.

This is truly a masterpiece. Each character is well thought out, their every motive and action colored by their beliefs and past. The plot is perfection, tinging the beautiful artwork with darkness as suffering is wrought upon the people of the kingdom from all sides, the sins of the king slowly revealed.
The authors clearly took great care with their work, and I would recommend this to anyone (especially should they hold a preference for stories of a darker nature). It is well worth the money, and if you're looking for something a bit more...promising, then the sequel is also off to a great start.

Esta historia se mueve por la sed de justicia, las ganas de libertad y un poco por el amor que está ahí pero no lo vemos demasiado; se complementa con la magia, los buenos personajes y sus bellas ilustraciones.
