This hot dude here, has 3 WIVES-
besides having those GORGEOUS MUSCLES!😍🤤😌🫦🫦🫦

MY FAVOURITE HIGHLIGHTS:
Inosuke’s surprisingly convincing geisha act. Who knew the boar-boy had such range?
Zenitsu’s shrill soprano! He suddenly turned out to be useful!!
Nezuko’s demon glow-up: she goes full berserk Barbie and nearly breaks the arc’s power scale. And I fell in love.
Daki and Gyutaro, the sibling demons, bring both menace and melodrama.

TW// murder, mention of suicide

I’m a massive Suma simp so of course this volume is one of my favorites. I’d do anything to get a whole spin off series focusing on Uzui and his wives. 🤍

"What exactly are you the god of?"
"Good question. You've got a promise. I'm the god of glam and flash... the god of festivals!"
"I'm the god of the mountain. Greetings, god of festivals."

As much as this quote is funny, Demon Slayer's volume 9 has more dark than light tone in it. After an argument with the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, we, as the readers, find ourselves in the entertainment district where a great danger awaits us. Tengen explains that he needs help to locate his three missing wives and the trio is there to help him achieve this goal. Despite the guys looking funny dressed as girls, the situation is incredibly serious. Things get complicated when one of the trio, Zenitsu, gets missing.

First of all, let's talk about Tengen. Just like with Shinobu, I didn't like the flashy Hashira at first. He seemed to be loud, rude and deeply narcissistic, claiming to be a god and expecting everybody to follow his orders. When he revealed that he went to the entertainment district to find his wives, I felt a flick of sympathy for him, I mean, who wouldn't like a doting husband? But what really sold me was the small moment of him sending (or trying to send) Tanjiro and Inosuke away, feeling guilty over Zenitsu going missing and being afraid of what will happen to the remaining two. He had shown his vulnerable side, a caring side, and I liked that. (also, the fact that he looks hot did help a lot)

Now, the entertainment district that our heroes found themselves in, scared me. I mean, it's a place of women's slavery, basically. Girls were sold out there, working as courtesans, with no other future in sight. Desperate ones go try to run away or go as far as to commit suicide. It's a matter that got brushed over in the story, which is understandable because that's not the focus, but I felt horrible for all the poor women :(

What I also want to talk about a little is the big bad of this volume, the demon named Daki. I know everything about her already, since I watched the anime, but what I want to point out here is the obvious fondness for her coming from Muzan. He's being straight up aggressive and violent with other demons, but with Daki he's all fond and smiley. That's the favorite child privilege, you cannot tell me otherwise. Maybe he really likes her, or maybe he just has high expectations of her (it seems like she has never disappointed him so far), who knows? But for the first time ever I didn't cringe because of his behavior. He acted like a person (yes, I know that's an irony, because he's a demon).

Anyways, our heroes are in trouble. Daki is a powerful demon, that will stop at nothing to kill them and please her master. Will the heroes save Tengen's wives and the district from the demon's terror? We will see in the next volume!

10/10 stars

I laughed so loud while reading my family kept looking at me strangely ;) It was so much fun, though! Much needed comic break after the heart break of the previous volume, The Entertainment District story arc is as hilarious as it is bold - after all, we learn that not only the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui has three wives, but that he had sent them all to a red light district to act as courtesans and spies in the search of a demon. And as they've all gone missing on that mission, now it's the time of our intrepid demon slayers to dress up as girls and go on a different mission - to find the missing wives. Obviously, what they find are not the wives but the demon. Hilarity ensues, followed closely by loads of action.

Still, my favorite part is the exchange between Tengen and Inosuke:

Tengen: "I'm the god of glam and flash... the god of festivals!"
Inosuke: "I'm the god of the mountain. Greetings, lord of festivals."
Tengen, after a moment: "What are you talking about? You're weird."

Another great volume in an amazing series.

This time we have all three boys going undercover. The wives of Tengen, a high rank Demon Slayer, have all gone missing. A demon in a district has gotten them. So Tengen sends the boys to dress up as woman and infilitrate the business to find out what happened. Of course there's a demon there but just how power is it?

This is super funny volume. The boys getting dressed as girls and almost all accepted as such is great. The fights step it up a notch with a excellent fight against a super demon. Also the art seems to keep improving every arc.

While not the great arc it was still really well done and I'm excited to see where it goes next. A 4 out of 5.

Tengen gets the 3 of them to go to Entertainment District and sort of go undercover and find out whats going on there to find his wives as he believes there is a demon there and he is right. We follow the Oirans (the boys) and what their activities are and its funny seeing Tanjiro that way and finally its so fun to see how they behave as girls but then Tanjiro discovers the demon Daki and her powers and fights her with "Hinokami Kagura" meanwhile also learning to use his powers and others searching for the other captured.

Its a great volume and the starting point is comedical and then it turns into pure action and great fight sequences and the others how they use their powers and this demon has some unique powers too and her motivations while crazy show that every demon are different and how will these DSC overcome them and save others? Also the art is so good like the women look so gorgeous here ugh!

Wow. what a great a start for this new arc of this amazing story!! After the arc of the mugen train I didn't expect this story to start evolving so fast!

Tengen Uzui at first didn't was of my liking, but let me tell you he change your perspective of him and he's SO AWESOME TOO!! And handsome :P For the rest of the gang, I'm loving more and more their interaction. Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke are such a great characters and very brave too.

This story is surprising page after page. Just so good

I always love the middle parts of a manga, the times where we’ve already got a hint of our MC’s special abilities and he’s still weak but he’s able to control it a little more. It’s this sweet spot that makes me keep coming back for more… because when he finally levels up, it’s going to be spectacular. :)

And at least here, we’re getting a lot of action in the pleasure district. :) No, it’s not hentai, lol. The fights have begun.

Humorous and still thrilling, Tanjiro and the others must go undercover in an entertainment district in order to find proud talker Tengen’s ninja wives, and discover that it’s most popular oiran (or geisha) has ties to Lord Muzan and they’ll find themselves in her beautifully evil sight. A (100%/Outstanding)

Tengen Uzui drags Tanjiro and company into an entertainment district to help him find his wives (plural) who are ninja's apparently. It's weird and silly when the boys have to dress as women and start working in the entertainment district, but they are trying to find the demon that has to be responsible for people disappearing.

Decent installment, Tanjiro tries fire breathing instead of water breathing for maybe the biggest moment in the whole thing. The demon threat here is interesting, well conceived and obviously that fight does not resolve itself in this volume. It's tough to get a real read on Uzui, but like most of the Hashira we meet his bravery is unquestioned and he's very powerful. I'll be interested to learn more about him in the next volume. This read very quickly as it kept you turning pages and kept you invested.

Volume 9 starts a new arc for Tanjiro and his team, as they hunt down another high ranking Demon, along with Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui.

It is a quite a good volume with high entertaining factor. Just the right touch of humor, action and drama.

No, because this volume is unhinged and I love it. Such solid pacing, a highly entertaining story arc, even more delightful characters, and darling Inosuke being unintentionally the funniest character in the whole series. I absolutely lost it when the rats showed up, and then when Inosuke tunneled into the ground I thought I was gonna bust a vein from laughing so hard.😭😂

Cover character -- Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira of Demon Slayer Corps.

Okay. This guy. Had. Three. Wives.
Three super pretty, ninja agents, warrior-wives! (Harem vibes, anyone?)

Anyhow, this volume based in the Entertainment district was much different than those that came before it.
The demons are levelling up and so are the Slayers!
