This book was way too OTT. Everything about it was OTT; the drama, the bully, the romance even the sex scene. The story went when the h went for an interview as a maid at one of the fancy neighbourhoods in her town. Unbeknownst to her, that was her bully's house and she would be interviewed by the dad. The latter was also famous as arrogant, brooding, demanding, and rude as heck billionaire boss. Fortunately, when the so-called boss saw her for the 1st time and firmly decided that she should be his, in all ways. But would she really go for her bully's dad?!
The story was the type of abandon-your-logic-and-go-to-OTT-land story. It was so over the top. From the protagonist drama of bullying our h for no reason to her calling her dad "Big Daddy" and how blind her father was to her bad behaviour. It was like watching soap operas. But the good news was all those dramas made all the steamy scenes far hotter. I meannnnn revenged mixed with distress sex?! Explosive. Well, I know that the h didn't literally admit that her hooking up with the dad was for revenge. But come on. Surely it's crossing her mind once or twice, right?! Or was I projecting myself?!

-The first red flag should've been the green suit and black goatee combo 💀☝️
-The second was when the H's daughter called him big daddy.
- The third should've been when he got STRUCK BY LIGHTNING and proceeded to get a boner.
She should've RUN 💀💀☝️.
This was so bad 😭 I don't know how I keep finding these books, but just know I'm scared- and that Mycroft (yes his name was Mycroft lmfao 💀), was legitimately nightmare fuel.

Love the setting and complicated family relationship and drama. I've never read a romance book where the heroine ends up with her rich bully's doting silverfox dad. So kudos to this one's originality!
This story is about Nell, a poor "trailer trash" girl who takes care of her grandma and is applying for a job to be a maid. It turns out that her high school bully is the daughter of the rich man who is hiring a maid. He is known as a "monster" with a bad temper and no tolerance for imperfection. Nell wants to turn tail and leave before getting chewed out by him, but gets pushed into his office by the bully daughter. Of course, it's obsession at first sight for the rich father, and Nell won't be getting away from him.
This story was really hot! I loved that Mr. Smith was described to look like a handsome villain with dark hair and a goatee, and basically behaved like one as well, other than his doting soft spot for Nell. I also liked that Nell was a soft spoken sweetheart that just wanted to lay low and not cause trouble. The only thing I really wish was that Nell would have pushed back more from having a relationship with Mr. Smith. Especially since he doted so much on his spoiled brat daughter and raised her to be so terrible. He had serious blinders on to her behavior. I wished there was more drama, where Nell would have quit her job as his maid and went to work for some other guy as his maid, so Mr. Smith would go crazy from jealousy and find out it was his daughter's fault that she left. There was some push from Nell, but not enough - I craved more drama! Or having Nell push back and tell him she can't be with him, because she wants babies and he said he didn't want more. It would've been sweet to see how fast he backtracks and gets upset if it looks like she is looking to other men to eventually get pregnant!
The ending felt a bit rushed. Again, I wish it would have been more fleshed out with more drama, having them separate for a bit. And showing Mr. Smith miserable without her. The lightning part was pretty weird and over the top, I dunno what the point of that was. Definitely can't imagine them having sexytimes right after getting struck by lightning 😬.
With a few tweaks, this could've been a perfect read for me. As it is, it's a hot and good read, and I give it extra credit for having such a unique setting of the bully's dad/hired maid relation.

It was an ok read. A mix of Beauty and the Beast, Red Riding Hood and Cinderella. There's the Beauty, the Beast, the Grandma living in the woods, the evil stepsister (ehrm.. in this case stepdaughter) and a Ball.

I usually like Ever Lilac, but this was goddamn awful. Everything was over-the-top and unbelievable, especially the behavior of Mr. Smith's daughter Lucretia, who bullied Nell. I started skimming after a while since the writing was too ridiculous and cringey to enjoy. I only finished because I wanted to see Lucretia get her comeuppance and get her ass served by her dad, but it never happened. We're told in the epilogue that she apparently groveled to Nell and that she now calls Nell "Big Mama", since Nell had a baby with Mr. Smith. By the way, Lucretia calls her own father "Big Daddy". Gross.

I have loved every book from this author. Everyone loves different things in their romance but this author hits every single thing I’m looking for in the short fast insta-love stories with no drama, the alpha hero not letting anyone or anything stand in the way of his obsession. Yum, hot, hot, HOT!! Can’t wait for more books from this author!!!!

I loved the ending of this book! It turned out to be so OTT. I loved how fiercely the H fought for the h. The h was also very loveable.
