A fun read, although most of the humor disappears around 60% of the way through and is replaced by memoir anecdotes and political musings. Still, this book taught me as much about Canadian culture and identity in five hours of audiobook listening as I learned in an entire high school course.

So fun to hear Mike Meyers narrate his own book! Not an entire book of his comedy, but rather a heartfelt tale of his love of Canada (sprinkled with humour). It was fun to hear him talk of growing up in Canada, and many of his tales brought a smile to my face as he'd throw in some Canadianisms that I'm not sure you would catch unless you were a Canadian living in the United States. It's an honest portrayal of why Canadians are the way we are, based on historic events and personal understanding, and a point of view I hadn't considered before. Very relatable as a fellow Canadian living in the US.

Great to listen to Mike grapple with Canada’s future and present identity.

I’d listen to this again - yet found the conclusion of the book rushed. His final statements made it feel like the identity piece was on its way to being sorted out. The 10 years since the book was published have left Canada in a different state, even less understood state imo. Not completely different than his observations but definitely different.

That being said - the major takeaway that I agree with: Canada is a country born out of procedure and in search of an identity. And just because we don’t have an identity - doesn’t mean we can’t be proud of what’s been built so far.

Part autobiography, part love letter to Canada, Mike Meyers' book offers an informative yet comedic - almost cheeky - take on Canada's history and identity (or lack thereof). Sure, it was a bit overly patriotic, but at the same time it was nice to be reminded of some of the good things about our country. True to Meyers' style, there were also plenty of jokes about stereotypical Canadian-isms (plastic milk bags, Canadian manners, hockey, etc.) and hilarious childhood anecdotes, some of which made me laugh so hard that I couldn't stop.

I listened to Canada narrated by the author.
It was an interesting collection of facts about Canada, his love for Canada and some funny anecdotes about his childhood and rise to stardom.
It left me wondering why he didn’t say much about his mom.

It really is like 60% love letter to Canada, 40% autobiography, so if you're not interested in Canada culture and history, you can skip this

it does have some cute, memorable moments, but overall I'm not sure I'd readily recommend it.

If you like history and occasional funny moments . . . Then you will enjoy this book. Truly a book about Canada . . .I made it just over half way and couldn't make it any further.

Listened to Mike Meyers' narration... I laughed out loud. Loved it until it got political. He seems like a sweet lovely man.
