Los Angeles in the 1980’s was the glamour capitol of the world. Awash with the faces of the rich and famous, it was the perfect place for me to start my modelling career. Then there was the Sunset Strip. Flooded with activity, the Sunset Strip was the decedent party of all things rock and roll, a cesspit of sex, drugs, alcohol and depravity.
For my best friend Beth and I, that warm early August evening started out like any other night on the strip. The men were out in full force, promoting their bands or trolling for a casual hookup. With sex so easy to come by and monogamy a foreign concept, finding love was the last thing on my mind. Until I met him.
Tall, blonde and savagely gorgeous, Johnny Cox caught my eye immediately. I was drawn to him like a moth to flame, craved his touch with a needy and raw clarity. I became addicted to him like he was a drug and I was using like I bled.
Bound by desire, I let myself be consumed by him even though I knew it would weaken me and prayed a blast from the past wouldn’t tear us apart..
Thank you @letstalkbookspromo for having me on this book tour! As well as @rachelpearceauthor_ for the electronic copy.
This book was set in the 1980's in the hair band rock scene. Aurora/Rory was being her roommate Beth's wingwoman as they went to check out an up and coming band playing at a bar. These two are gorgeous rising models. As Rory was dancing she caught the eye of the lead singer Johnny Cox and things get super steamy 🔥🔥🔥 as there is immediate chemistry between these two.
This book gets very intimidate as Rory and Johnny get closer and their relationship evolves. They go through their own insecurities based on past relationships, they have some outside pressures trying to break them apart and their careers start to take off. Can they hold on to the love they've found?
I enjoyed all of the characters and their development throughout. I was surprised to find out this book was written in two months. I felt all the emotions and appreciated the flow and evolution of their relationship.
Johnny is a unique front man being super hot and sexual but not going after every groupy like his bandmates but can he stay faithful and trust her or her trust him?
Extra credit: I just couldn't handle the cliffhanger and read Just Like Paradise, which is the 2nd book in the trilogy. Which OMG squeal 😍. I still want to punch Kate in the (wherever it hurts the most) I hate those types of people.
Words can’t even describe how amazing this book is. Rachel wrote this with such precision that I genuinely thought I was in the story. This was my first glimpse at a book written by this author and honestly it has hooked me right in. She’s absolutely incredible. If you are a fan of a steamy romance this is one for you.
The characters were so intoxicating and I loved their relationships with each other. I was secretly third wheeling in all of them!
The ending. How do I even begin? I was shook. I immediately messaged Rachel and asked her why she did that to me. Think you’re attached to characters? Think again. If you want a rollercoaster of emotions you need this book in your life. Oh, and of course if you need some steaminess!
This story revolves around the life of a model and the relationship she has with the front man of a band. They fall head over heels for each other and are fully consumed by one another. The graphic sex scenes are hot and the sparks between them fly straight off the page. But you're left wondering when the other show will drop, and it's so far, so good, for so long, even the reader believes this pair have it all and you can't help but be envious of their love for one another, but will all good romances, comes complications and drama and by god does this book deliver! Just when you think it's safe to tuck your feet up under your bum and settle down for a good old fashioned romance, a huge sledgehammer comes in and smashes it to peices. I just really hope there's a book two called Redemption or something. Fantastic read, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
Well safe to say that I was so hooked that I had to pick up the next book immediately. I was warned that this one would be a tear jerker but I WAS NOT expecting this.
Rachel covers some really sensitive topics across the series of books but in this one in particular. I won’t share any spoilers but grab your tissues and prepare yourself for both mental and physical decline. These were such hard hitting topics but the way it was written was beautifully done. I fully applaud Rachel for this masterpiece.
If the whole book didn’t break you prepare yourself for the final chapter as this is one of the ones that got me the most. Surely not a happy ending??? I’m saying right now that I need more books please and thank you. I need to find out how their lives progress!
I loved this book. It was a quick, easy read full of charm, wit, love and sex. Set in the 80s on the Sunset Strip. Endless Summer Nights follows model Aurora or Rory as she likes to be called as she learns what life, romance and partying are all about on the Strip. All the characters are well rounded and developed, all of them play a part, the dialogue is natural and what I would expect to hear from the time period. Loved all the music references and brought back some nostalgia for me as the bands mentioned are great. Yes, there was a lot of sex in the book, which is to be expected when you have two people in their earlier twenties in love. The ending was heartbreaking, and I didn’t see it coming. I won’t spoil it here for potential readers, but I will definitely be reading the next book to see what happens next. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is there were a lot of errors in the second half of the book as though it had been rushed.
I have to admit that in the beginning, I was not gelling with this book or the characters. In fact, I was not feeling the attraction between Rory and Johnny. It honestly took me about a third of the way into the story to actually find myself enjoying this book. Before than it was a very slow start.
Once, I got into the story, I did like it. There is a lot of steam and sex between Rory and Johnny. Actually, want to take a moment to talk about the sex. In the beginning, I did find it to be "just sex". Yet, the further I got into the story and got to see Rory and Johnny's relationship blossom, it because more than "just sex".
I do want to take a moment to mention two other people that were a part of this book and that is Beth and Shane, friends of Rory and Johnny. They were important players as well in the story. Endless Summer Nights is a love story for the heart.
I found the writing to be of a good quality and the author has a talent for dropping just the right amount of descriptions in- both of characters and scenery. I felt that was very well done. Unfortunately the story itself didn’t really do it for me.
The story follows a young model who falls in love with a guy who is trying to make it big in the music industry. At first she isn’t keen because apparently she’s been burned before by musician(s?) and according to her they are all the same. (We never get any actual back story on this)
She gives in pretty easily and the have a massive amount of sex and fall in love. I found it slow because up until the last three chapters, not a lot else of any interest happens. There was a bit of backstory about Rory’s kid brother that seems pretty unrelated to anything else going on, and some conflict between Johnny and his mother that gets resolved ‘off screen’, and the fact that Rory’s room mate is in a relationship with another member of Johnny’s band, but there is no conflict for the first half of the book and I found myself getting a bit bored. The main antagonist isn’t introduced until half way through the book.
The thing that fell flat for me was- the drama at the end could have been avoided simply by Rory communicating. Especially since earlier in the book when she and Johnny have a minor spat and he gives her the silent treatment, as a reader we are told that not communicating when there is a problem is something she can’t stand!
All in all I found it an ok read. Not a bad book, just a little slow. Based on the writing style, I would read more by this author, but I don’t think I will be following on with this series.
I am absolutely in love with this book, characters and the plot.
Rory is such a relatable character who could easily be someone who I could make friends with. She is a character that is badass, straight forward, beautiful and easily likable. Rory is a beautiful model on the Sunset Strip with her friend Beth and they model for well known brands from in the 80's.
One night partying Rory meets the dazzling, egocentric Johnny and sparks immediately fly. This couple has so many steamy moments within the book which keeps you hooked and wanting to read more. As the book goes on you get more and more invested in their relationship as well as what is going on outside of their relationship e.g. Johnny's careers, Rory's family and other annoying people (I think we all know who I mean here).
I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book as I seriously did not expect that ending!!! This is definitely a must read book!!!
My Review: This was such a fun read. Being a lover of 80’s rock made this book all the more fun! It took me through all the feels too!!! I laughed, I cried, I was happy and I got mad. Even though Rory and Johnny are quite conceited I still fell in love with them! Johnny the hot up and coming rockstar and Rory a beautiful model. Beth is the best friend that every girl needs. She is just so kind and loyal! Then, comes Kate. This girl....is just pure rotten. She is nasty from the time she is introduced in the story to the very last page. The romance between Rory and Johnny is pretty steamy! They hold nothing back. It doesn’t matter where they are. Lol!!! ☆☆☆.5/5 stars from me! I loved loved loved the story! I recommend this book to all of you eriotica fans! If you love steamy romance, 80’s rock, the rock and roll setting and cliff hangers. This book is for you!! You will be on the edge of your seat begging for more!
Well this book just took me by surprise! I’m not the biggest fan of books not set in the current time (this is set in the 80’s) but I ended up really enjoying it!
It follows Rory & Johnny; she’s a model and he’s an aspiring rockstar. They meet in LA when his band is playing and have an immediate undeniable chemistry and attraction.
Their love story is super sweet a lot of the time, although it can be volatile when they’ve had a drink (hey, we’ve all been there 😂) but the way they feel about each other was just swoony!
I really enjoyed the side characters and story lines too! This ended on a huge cliffhanger which I wasn’t expecting but luckily the next book is already out so I’ll be diving straight into it!
"Is this love that I'm feeling Is this the love that I've been searching for Is this love or am I dreaming This must be love 'Cause it's really got a hold on me A hold on me..." - Whitesnake
One grateful seemingly endless summer and those summer nights - Is this love? Hot rocker hoping to make it big on the sunset strip sets his sights on a up and coming model. The attraction is at full volume on the amps. Together, they navigate the Sunset Strip - sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. But when you clear the stage, is this a lasting relationship built on trust? Throw back to hair bands and late 80's in the romance novel full of steam.
This book was truly adorable and had lots of steam! I enjoyed Rory’s unique personality she reminded me of myself a bit :) I loved the story line and I highly recommend!!!
I loved the 80s setting full of references to iconic places like the Sunset Strip and the Whiskey a Go Go. Rory, an aspiring model, and Johnny, a gorgeous blonde rocker (inspired by the late Jani Lane of Warrant) were the main characters in this first installment. Their love affair is initially red hot, fueled by sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, but it later morphs into something genuine and sweet. Will their relationship stand the strain of Johnny's band getting a record deal and starting a tour?
Everything Johnny and Rory go through is so heart breaking but you want to keep reading as you hope that things will get better for them.
Johnny was such a strong character throughout this book but he does make a couple of mistakes in which costs him his relationship but also other aspects of his life.
Rory has some bad moments in which can be triggering for other readers but this makes her such a strong character as the book progresses. She goes through so much which she doesn't deserve.
When reading this I strongly advise to message myself or the Author in case you think this may trigger you in anyway.
I cannot wait to see what this author writes in the future
Finished this amazing trilogy last night.. honestly I just loved it so much more than I expected!
It just completely got me hooked, I adored Rory & Johnny equally and I loved reading about their relationship, it wasn’t perfect and at times it had toxic elements but god you just wanted the HEA for them so bad.
This book had everything in it; angst, heartbreak, betrayal but also joy, love & happiness. It took me on a wild ride and I felt like I was right there with both of the characters.
This whole series has just been a pleasure to read and I’m so glad Rachel reached out and asked me to read it! I’ve really enjoyed it. I can’t wait for the story retelling from Johnny’s POV!
This was definitely not what I was expecting but was a beautifully written story. But am I ever glad it exceeded my expectations!
When a crazy night turns into an electrical current of sparks flying, you’ll become addicted to Rory and Johnny’s unimaginable relationship. From their passionate, steam filled scenes to learning a little about each character, the action never stops until the end. Cannot wait for the next one!
The final saga (for now) of Rory and Johnny. Their romance has weathered a break-up, a reunion, a tour, a stalker, a wedding, a separation, and the ultimate tragedy a couple can face.
Again, I very much enjoyed the 80s settings and the nostalgic throwback to that era.
