No matter how hard Scarlett tried to be good, she always ended up being bad.

But everything was different now. She was making her way up the ranks in her dream job, working as a publicist for the San Francisco Gold.

Finally, her life was back on track.

Then she met Kaydon.

He was new to the team—a power forward—and the moment she laid eyes on his sexy-as-sin body she’d dreamed about what that power might feel like in bed. But he was off-limits. She worked for the team, and though she’d spent much of her life being bad, she couldn’t risk her job by jumping into a relationship that could easily get her fired.

Even if it was with a man like Kaydon.

Unfortunately, despite her best intentions at keeping her distance, he was good—very good—at convincing her to be bad.

4.5 Star review of Cycled (Gold Hockey #13) by Elise Faber
Cycled is an emotional story that reeled me in and kept me invested from the first to the last chapter. This is Kaydon Lewis (Kitten) and Scarlett Andrews (Scar)’s story and was a great addition to the series.
Scar is the publicist for the San Francisco Gold hockey team and Kaydon has been intrigued by her from the moment he met her. She has had a hard life and thanks to verbally abusive parents has low self esteem. It seems to her that no matter how hard she tries, things never turn out right for her.
I fell hard and fast for Kaydon, he is such a protective, caring man and I loved how determined he was to pursue Scar. I also appreciated how supportive of her quirky characteristics he is and that he will stop at nothing to make her happy.
Their banter was witty and the chemistry between them intense. I loved Kaydon’s family and the relationship Scar and her brother Charlie have was heart warming. There were moments where I laughed and moments where I cried but I was left with a smile on my face when I finished.

4.5 Stars for Cycled ( Gold Hockey #13)
This is one of those books that will draw you in, it’s entertaining but it’s also emotional and Kaydon and Scarlett’s (Scar) journey is a great addition to this wonderful series.
Scar’s life hasn’t been easy, she suffers from self esteem issues but she seems to have found her niche working in the PR department for the team. She normally runs whenever anyone gets to close but Kaydon is not going to let the woman he calls kitten run this time.
Kaydon it’s the man we would all love in our corner, he is kind, caring and an all round sweetheart. He has his sights set on Scar and he will do whatever is needed to show this woman her truth worth.
The chemistry is sizzling, the banter is witty, the emotion hit me when I least it expected it but it was watching Scar come into her own with the help of Kaydon that took this book to another level. If you loves sports romances, Cycled and the Gold Hockey Series should certainly be on your radar. Looking forward to more from the wonderful players from the Gold team.

Cycled (Gold Hockey #13) by Elise Faber is Kaydon and Scarlett’s(Scar) emotional, heartwarming story. Scar is assistant publicist for the San Francisco Gold’s Hockey team, Kaydon is a hockey player for the team. Kaydon thought he did something to cause Scar to really dislike him/avoid him but finds out she, actually, liked him not hated him. Scar suffered from past trust and abuse by her parents so that colors her views on relationships. When Kaydon finds this out, he is determined to make Scar his. The story will pull on the heartstrings, bring the feels and sexy hot. There is some lag at times in the story, overall, it is a good book and the ending is satisfying.

My Rating: 4.4 stars **********

Coming around to love!

Scarlett works in PR for Gold Hockey and is painfully shy. Her crush on Kaydon, one of the players, is hopefully under the radar. Kaydon likes Scarlett and wants to get to know her better. When they finally come together, the chemistry is off the charts and gives Scarlett the confidence she needs to try and rid herself of the toxic elements of her life. This was another great book by Elise with characters you fall in love with!

Another great installment in the Gold Hockey series! I was drawn in almost immediately. Scar is so relatable, and her anxieties and struggles leftover from her parents’ treatment of her all her life are heartbreakingly realistic. And Kaydon is so patient and careful with her once he realizes that she’s struggling—and even moreso once she admits to him why—that you can’t help but love him and root for his campaign to win over Scar to succeed. I haven’t yet found an addition to the Gold family that I didn’t love, but I’m finding I’m especially partial to Scar and Kaydon. Definitely a must-read for fans of the series, or of Elise’s writing. And an excellent starting point for new readers, as each novel in the series is a stand-alone, but introduces a number of the other couples in the Gold family. The series is perfect for fans of Helena Hunting’s Pucked series, or any of Natasha Madison’s hockey series’s; the interconnected stand-alone style and sense of family between the cast of characters is very similar.
Scar Andrews, the Gold’s assistant publicist, has a long history of disaster. Especially following relationships, because when they implode other things in her life tend to go down with them. So, despite her strong attraction to Kaydon Lewis, she’s insistent on avoiding any sort of relationship beyond professional with him.
Kaydon Lewis doesn’t understand why the woman he finds so fascinating, and undeniably attractive, avoids him like the plague. He’s convinced that she doesn’t feel for him what he feels for her, that she doesn’t like him at all. However, their friends—Fanny and Mandy—insist that she’s into him as well, that Kaydon just needs to make a move. While Kaydon isn’t convinced, he finally works up the nerve to confront Scar about he issue with him, and compels he to admit that she’s just as into him as he is to her.
However, Scar’s home life growing up wasn’t the loving environment Kaydon enjoyed growing up. Her parents are manipulative and emotionally abusive, leaving Scar with anxieties and self-esteem issues that cause her to have issues with finishing things and trusting people. All of which Kaydon has to help her work through, if he hopes to have a future with her.

Cycled is the thirteenth book in the Gold Hockey series, but can be read as a stand alone. Kayden has had his eye on Scar for the past year, but she’s always given off the “not interested” vibes. But when their attraction and connection is finally too much to resist, will Scar’s messiness bring their lives crumbling down, like Scar believes might happen, or could they find a love and relationship that lasts through life’s trials?

Oh my goodness, I loved this book! I adored the connection that develops between Scar and Kay, and as soon as I got started reading this book, I did not want to put it down! I love Scar. She had so many insecurities and was so worried about everything. I loved watching her relax some, open up, and even accept herself and her work. She even found this glorious inner strength, and Kay was absolutely perfect for her! Kayden was so sweet and patient, single focused and dirty minded, but he supported her, he loved her, and he had these really silly thoughts that just made me swoon! I loved them together! I loved their passion, their vulnerabilities, the ways they lifted each other up and paid attention to all of the little details between the two of them. It was so fun to see how the hockey team supported them, plus you got to see little glimpses of characters from previous books! I also liked some of the drama that existed both between the characters (can we also swoon real fast over the fact that Kay just knew the right ways to stop Scar from spiraling and cycling?!) and outside of their relationship. All in all, I loved this book! I’m such a fan of this series!

Scarlett, oh Scarlett, my heart breaks for her and her view of herself. Being raised by terrible people who put her and her brother down at every moment they can. They are no supportive or loving in any way and this has shaped Scar’s outlook on a lot of things and has led her to make some not perfect decisions in life.

Kaydon has been dealing with Scar running from him for a year now since they met, and he is done letting her do it. Once he gets to her admit that she is afraid and doesn’t hate him, he doesn’t allow her to get away from him. He gives her words, and action, and boosts her up in a way that so few have. He shows her that she has love and support in her work family and they do not look at her in any way except in the best ways.

He brings out the positive and best in her and I think that the way that Scar fights it because she doesn’t feel worthy is done in such a way that it makes sense. And then there is a scene where she is meeting Kaydon’s family and the fact that they to bat for her without question. I adore that and felt like it was a moment that needed to happen and for Scar to see just what love and support she has from those that surround her. This one was a little light on the hockey, but it was weaved in naturally and made sense with the way the story transpires.

4.5 🌟 Nailed It! Funny romantic hockey story

Hot 🔥 Elise Faber has nailed it with Cycled. This is the 13th book in the Gold hockey series, and if you haven’t read any before, it doesn’t matter. Just read this one. At first I was felt the writing seemed a bit choppy, and disjointed but it soon became apparent that it matched the characters so well. You will laugh, cheer for them and almost cry as you read the story of Kayden and Scar.

Kayden, also known as ‘Kitten’, has been smitten with Scarlett, Scar, since he started with the team a year ago. Now that he is recovered from his knee injury, he is putting all his energy in the off season on getting to know Scar. If she will stop running away.
Scar is a publicist for the hockey team, always around them but fading into the background, just like she wants it. Nothing ever goes right for her, whether it’s her job, a relationship or just anything. Saying she likes Kayden is totally understating how she feels when she is around him. But she can’t chance ruining her job, losing her new found friends (and family) at Gold hockey or risk Kayden’s career. So she just can’t run away from him fast enough. Tripping and falling on the way. 😆

I have a like/dislike for this book. I liked it. I just didn't love it. Scar was decent. Her upbringing wasn't the greatest and unfortunately we get to witness a bit of why. She has slowly been developing her backbone and I love that the most about her. But she still lets her insecurities get the better of her. What drove me crazy about her was that she spent 9 months running from Kaydon and the moment he finally decides to ask her out she starts blurting out sexual thoughts like she needs to get them all over in 24 hours. I know that her insecurities played into that. But it still bothered me.

I'm also a little tired of the whole "I am woman I don't need a man" thing. Great I get it. But seriously if a man is stepping in it doesn't automatically mean that he's trying to control the narrative. It could easily mean that he's there to support you, to love you. Relationships are a team effort. There isn't just one person involved. So this whole I'm independent, I don't need a man to do things for me needs to take a step back and rethought.

Okay Kaydon. Good guy. Sweet man. I love how he brings the best out of Scar. Enough said.. lol.

4.5*

Scar has crushed on Kaydon from the moment she first laid eyes on him, but her upbringing, and history with men has her running scared - to the point that Kaydon thinks she really really doesn't like him. But an awkward encounter after her friend Fanny's community skating lessons leaves Kaydon wondering if maybe....just maybe.... she's running scared for different reasons, and he vows to get through the walls she's erected to keep everyone at arms length.

Slowly, Kay breaks through her barriers, and helps her to see herself as others see her. There is so much to love in Cycled. Kaydon is so sweet, patient, caring - and did I mention sweet? He is everything Scar needs, and her personal growth throughout the book is beautiful to read. Slowly breaking through her barriers, she begins to stand up for herself, to have confidence in herself, and it's an amazing thing. I love this softie hockey player, and the woman he's completely and utterly smitten with.

And I'd be remiss not to mention the family of the Gold. This hockey team is a true family that pulls together when needed, and who can play together like siblings. I love this team, and all of the budding relationships that occur on and off the ice.

This is definitely not unlucky number 13!! Scarlett who much prefers to be called Scar, has been traumatized by her parents who have always been quick to inform her and her brother that they are a disappointment to them and have always been more about themselves than their children. Now that Scar has escaped from her parents clutches and their demands on her, she has a world of hurt and trust issues that she carries around with her. Since Kayden joined the Gold hockey team, he has wondered what he has done to make Scar go out of her way to avoid him and dislike him. Little does he realize that this is Scar's go to defense because she doesn't want to bring anyone else into her disaster of a life. But once he realizes that this is about keeping him at arm's length, Kayden decides that he is going to break down these defenses and make her realize that both she and he are worth the effort and how they make each other feel. This is a story of growing in love, learning to trust, and knowing that your family is not necessarily your blood relatives, but those people you choose to surround yourself with. Love this sexy story, which packs lots of heat.

Every time I read a story in this world, I don’t think they can get better, but I am proven wrong. Kaydon is everything any woman could want in a man. He is interested in Scar, but she throws out the ‘I hate you’ vibe really well. Finally, he calls her on it and once he realizes the truth, he doesn’t relent.
Scar is broken down, due to her horrible parents. She believes everything she touches gets destroyed, so she keeps pushing Kaydon away. Once the truth of her feelings towards him is revealed, she starts letting her walls down and proves to be stronger than she thought she was.
Kaydon was sweet, protective, understanding, patient and all around wonderful. He didn’t let her push him away and bolstered her confidence when she needed it. His family was wonderful and I loved how he and his family rallied behind Scar and Charlie. When she finally stood up to her parents it was great, and I loved his response to her slip of the tongue. I can’t wait to read Charlie’s story.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Elise Faber heats thing up with CYCLED (Gold Hockey #13). This is Forward Kaydon Lewis and Scarlett (Scar) Andrews, assistant publicist for the San Francisco Gold’s story.

Kaydon thought that Scar hated him. Then he discovered the reason she avoided him was because she liked him. Once he found that out, there was no holding him back. Scar had some issue. She felt that all her relationships lead to disaster. She didn’t want to mix work with pleasure and ruin her dream job. Scarlett’s mother is emotionally abusive, and the biggest reason for Scars’ insecurities. Kaydon is a good guy. He is supportive and protective. He is proud of Scar for her strength and will remind her of it. The characters are likable and dimensional.

I love Kaydon’s reading room and the scenes that take place in it. CYCLED was well-written and entertaining. It was a great addition to the Gold Hockey series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

4.5 Stars ⭐️

It’s always a good day when I get to read a fantastic hockey romance and it’s a particularly great one, when it’s one of Elise Faber’s. Cycled is the 13th book in the Gold Hockey series and is Scarlett and Kayden’s super sweet and sexy story.

She works in the PR department and he’s the heart of the team. Scar (a very appropriate name) suffers from self esteem issues and has a boatload of demons in her (half finished) closet. Beyond attracted to the tall glass of sexiness otherwise known as Kay “The Kitten”, she hides from her feelings and him. Kay on the other hand, has no problem acknowledging his desire for her and when push comes to shove, pursues her.

I really enjoyed watching them fall hard and fast for each other and their happily ever after made my book loving heart happy. I’m giving Cycled the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy.

This is the 13th book in this phenomenal series and is Kaydon and Scarlett’s story. Scarlett has not had an easy life which has left her with self-esteem issues, but she is trying to get her life back on track and she has her dream job as publicist of the San Francisco Gold. Kaydon is new to the team and is under the impression that Scar does not like him as she always avoids him, until he learns otherwise. Kaydon is kind, caring and patient and has his sights set on Scar who he is determined to prove to her that she is worth the effort, and she deserves to be loved. This is a beautifully written flawless story which is emotionally charged, and with witty banter, humor, family, and love, which leads to a sweet, romantic, and entertaining addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Scar and yes that's her name but her awful mommy named her Scarlett but never ever call Scar by that name let's just say all her bumpy roads and self esteem issues start at home her parents are despicable they ruined her and her siblings. Scar is just done with them relationships and everything in general she likes her job as PR rep of the Gold Hockey team and she's not about to mess that up over some dreamy Hockey player Kayden.

Kayden can't quite figure out why Scar doesn't like him but he wants answers she's just what he wants if he can just convince her to give him a chance. There cute and perfect together and some times awkward but they really support each other when Scar's past comes to town. This book will leave you not just rooting for the Gold but Scar and Kayden too.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This is another great addition to the Gold Hockey series.

Scar is a bit awkward, and though she jokes about being disaster-prone, she truly believes that it makes her less desirable and unlovable. Though Kaydon seems to like her, she tries to drive him away, fearing a massive heartbreak and physical damage.

I like the way Kaydon patiently worked on Scar's fear of a relationship with him. He pushed when needed and waited - but not idly by - as she continued to make room in her life for him. I like that he helped her with her confidence and standing up to her parents.

As usual, Elise Faber delivers another emotional, but humor-filled romance with characters that are endearing and loveable. I recommend this read - unreservedly and wholeheartedly.

Cycled is fabulous. I loved this one so much. Kaydon will steal your heart and give you all the feelings. He is such a sweetheart and I love how he doesn't let Scar to keep running away. Scar sees herself as a giant mess that no one needs to take on. She is more then that and you will love just how Kaydon shows her she is. There is amazing chemistry that will heat up the pages once Scar's walls are worn down some. There is such sweetness between Kaydon and Scar that will make them one of your favorite Gold Hockey couples. They just fit so well together. I love all the changes in Scar as she grows more confident in herself. This is one that you will not be able to put down. I cannot wait fore more Gold Hockey to come.

Scarlett Andrews had never felt like she was enough. Raised by emotionally and verbally abusive parents she was a mess in her minds eye. Convinced that she messed up everything and every relationship she had ever had, she had found her place with the Hold Hockey Team. These people had her back like a real family. Now Kaydon Lewis has joined the team and is enchanted by her, but he’s convinced she hates him. She goes out of her way to avoid him. He continually tries to get closer to her but she makes it almost impossible. Until she decides to just let herself fall. Can she overcome her fears and distance herself from her parents?
Another great book in the Gold Hockey series by Elise Faber! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scar loves working for the San Francisco Gold not only because of the job but because of the people she works for. She has never felt accepted or loved until she joined the team so she doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize it and that means keeping her distance from Kayden, a sexy forward on the team.

Kayden isn’t sure why every time he approaches Scar she can’t get away fast enough but when he finds out it isn’t because she doesn’t want to be around him but because she does it becomes a gamechanger. He has never walked away from a challenge, and he knows that Scar is worth fighting for.

Kayden is exactly who Scar needs in her life as he shows her that she is perfect just the way she is and anyone who doesn’t see it doesn’t deserve to be in her life.

I loved this book!!! I loved that they stayed away from each other, until they couldn't. And then the fireworks happened! She has had a rough start in life with emotionally abusive parents. Told she can never do right. He has had past hockey injuries that affect him still today. I loved that he let down his guard first.

Not to mention his library! Dream come true!

This is not the first book in the series but can be read as a complete stand alone. Everything you need to know will be given to you. But you will have met these characters in the previous book. However once you read this book you will want to read the rest!

Scar works for Gold, the hockey team, as an assistant publicist, Kaydon is on the team, she's been interested in him since he joined the team, nearly a year ago, but she has secrets, her family. Kaydon has been attracted to her but realises that she isn't ready for a relationship yet. He gently persuades her to become friends, and works on getting closer without her realising it.
This is a great read with believable characters, Scar, Scarlett really but her mother has made her hate her name, has had a hard life, fortunately she has a loving brother, and Kaydon has a large family.

A great read in the series from Elise.

Gold Hockey #13

Scarlett "Scar" is working her dream job as a publicist for the San Francisco Gold.
Kaydon "Kitten" is a power forward and new to the SF Gold team.
Both have been running from their feelings about each other and spending time together. Kaydon has realized he has to be patient and earn her trust and love. She and her brothers had been put through an emotional ringer with their abusive parents and she has always run away or acts like it doesn't bother her.
Now she is learning to go for what she wants and to stand up for herself. And the more time they spend with each other the closer they get.

A sweet emotional romance with plenty of hot chemistry.

Kaydon is an absolute sweetheart! Scarlett is done fighting her attraction to him, even though she has reservations. Not about him…it’s about her. Without giving the story away, Scar (her preference) has a lot to work through before she can truly be who she wants to be with Kaydon. He has an abundance of patience and…well, you have to read this to understand just how swoon worthy he is! Family, friends…he’s there for them all. Plus, he takes good-natured ribbing like the confident man he is!

The supporting characters are great including Charlie, Scar’s brother, who definitely deserves a story too!

A very enjoyable addition to the Gold Hockey series!

Now this story sets a part from the ones I've already read in the series and I don't know if it's the way that they both spend quite some time in their heads having conversations with how things would work out and that's what I do most of the time so I could relate or was it the fact that he let her find her grounds with how to handle her parents.

What I loved the most was his determination to make her see that they are perfect together. The whole nondates and spending time together just made me so happy you guys that I didn't even pay much attention to all the sexy times and that tells you something.

Another great addition to the Gold Hockey family. Kayden and Scarlett have been tiptoeing around each other for a year now. Kayden has finally had enough and sets his mind to win the girl. Of course, nothing is ever that easy and their story is fantastic because of it. I liked who Kayden is as a person and the way he helped Scar come out of her shell, but I think what made this even better for me was watching Scarlett come in to her own. With her history, you can see how far she's come and the growth that gets her there. These two have the banter, emotions that run the gamut and more than enough chemistry to keep the heat rising.

I love this book. Scar and Kaydon are so good together. Scar growing up with abusive parents being told that she was worthless and a disaster she tried to not get attached to anyone. Kaydon taking her avoiding him as a sign of dislike. It’s great to see Scar’s barriers fall. Heartbreaking to see how she’s treaded by her parents. Kaydon is sexy and as soon as he finds out that Scar likes him he fights for her. It’s again a story were you can see all the love the Gold team gives to one of them. Love this series and let’s not forgot how hot they are together

This is a great addition to the series. Scar and Kaydon come from different backgrounds and Kaydon thinks Scar doesn't like him. Little does he know - she likes him too much. She hasn't had the best childhood and relationships have not worked out for her so she tries to avoid anything with Kaydon that will mess up her job or leave her heartbroken. It was entertaining to watch their relationship develop and the chemistry between them is hot! I loved Kaydon's patience with her and his determination to get her over her past. Definitely worth the read!!

This is the thirteenth book in the Gold Hockey Series and Kaydon and Scar’s story. Kaydon joined the team a year ago and since the moment he saw Scar he’s been taken with her, but anytime he’s near her she runs away. Scar is a publicist for the team, and she really likes Kaydon, but she can’t risk losing losing her job. However, things don’t go as she plans and Kaydon isn’t taking no for an answer. The connection between Kaydon and Scar felt so real and they were a perfect match for each other. A great read from beginning to end.

Turning over a new leaf proves to be harder than either of these rulebreakers ever could have imagined. Scarlet and Kaydon are caught in the middle of a powerful attraction at the worst possible time. She's a bad girl trying to walk the straight and narrow. He's the total package. From new recruit to destined star, Kaydon has the skills to go far professionally, but is not as successful when it comes to his heart. Enter the hurricane he never say coming. Faber continues to shake up emotions with spicy stories and irresistible characters. Cycled is a heartbreaker of the highest order.
