When my magic suddenly awakens and uninvited guests crash my birthday party, the Fae royal guard saves me... And kidnaps me.
These irresistible, protective Fae want to whisk me away to their enchanted realm. A world that’s fading without its queen — me.
To save the Tree of Life and Fae magic, I’ll need to bond with five consorts, one of each Fae kind:
A tall, ancient Elf. A powerful, charming Kitsune. A playful, flirtatious Nixie. A bookish, reclusive Duwende. And a moody but magnetic Veela.
Until my birthday, I thought I was human, and I had no idea magic is real. To make matters worse, not everyone wants me to take the throne — and the enemy is hunting me.
Instead of graduating college, it’s time to find out if an inexperienced young Fae like me can really save a world I never knew existed.
No pressure, right?

So, I only got to to 30% of this one. I can not stand repetition. The MC was pressured by bully boyfriends to have sex. I get it. I do not need to be told three times.
I also get that the MC was bred to be weak. This did not bother me as much as being 21 and a doormat did. I would think that having such an dominant best friend would have influenced something after three years.
I hope the MC will get stronger and the book would stop being so depressing. To me it was taking to long. Scratching this off the list.
3.5* I have received an ARC copy of the last book so I decided to read previous ones too.
As for this one I can say several things: 1.MC is very insecure, especially in the beginning. That is explained by her upbringing. Usually I can relate to young women who have some insecurities: shyness, lack of friends, disfunctional families, unfortunate previous relationships... In case of this book I can't say it was easy. In my opinion her insecurities were too exaggerated.
2.Parents. Well, as the story goes and they appear to be evil... their attitude and communication with their adopted daughter become clear. So, fine.
3. Best friend. Wing-woman of the MC is fine, although her personality isn't described very thoroughly.
4. Love interest. The two boys are fine but they suffer too much in my opinion. I like when male characters are more forward and sure of themselves. Yes, these two guys have just found out that they're far but still. To immature for me.
5. World building. I liked how the author inverted glimpses into history of the Fae Kingdom. As for this book, MC enters the other realm only in the end, so we'll see what the second book will show us.
6. Steam and hotness. Well, there is none. The book is considered slow-burn, the future queen only begins to know her consorts. So, no sex here but we'll see what we see in the second book.
7. Details and repetition. This was the worst part. Many thoughts are repeated not even twice, but several times in many pages. It seems like the author forgot that she has already written about it. So, if there was no repetition, the book would have been much shorter and more engaging for me.
All in all I'm eager to find out what will I see in the second book, whether I see repetition, maybe the heroine grows more confident or there are no changes in pace and style at all.
P. S. English isn't my mother tongue, so I'm sorry for any mistakes in my review.

I had such good expectations for this book, I wanted so badly to love it. The tropes and synopsis really drew me in, and the plot had SO MUCH potential, but unfortunately it fell short. I was tempted to give on this book at about 6 different points, but I persaveared because I was convinced something was going to happen to explain all the unnecessary information that had been thrown at us so haphazardly, but that just never happened. It was a lacklustre at the end as it was throughout.
As I mentioned there was a sizeable number of unnecessary pages throughout the entire book. Usually with a fantasy book, you expect a lot of world building in the first book, but the world was barley constructed. Even when the FMC finally started asking question, she was just told “all will be explained when…”. I get being shy, but no one just sits ideally by while your entire life if being ripped away around you without even querying the situation, I feel like this Gloriana would not even act if she was being murdered.
Also, we get the same information repeated constantly, something will be mentioned in one of Gloriana’s chapters, and then the next chapter we have the exact same scene playing out in Kenji’s POV, but with no additional information, no different point of view, no additional internal monologue, nothing. This book could have easily been 100 pages, rather than the 360 pages it sits at, and I would have had the exact same experience, without feeling like I’d been dragged through the boring remnants of someone’s mind.
One of my biggest issues, and my first red flag was the way the characters are being described. This is most apparent with Kenji and Angleo. Aren’t these characters supposed to be attractive? I have absolutely no problem with their heights, or physical appearance but why in the hell are you putting Angelo in a bright orange V-neck? Why is so much attention paid to Angelo’s clothing, making out that he is very fashionable, just for him to choose a godamn fedora over a beanie, and then choose to don the fedora for the entirety of the book! Everything about them just came across as so unsightly. It is mentioned that Gloriana feels a pull to them, but then this is not explained at all. The only character I think had any charisma at all was Lyall and most of what we got from him was him performing his duties as guard leader.
Lastly, let us talk about Gloriana pre-world-shattering. What was she even doing, I can appreciate that she has been brought up this way, and a lot of her life was laced with manipulation from her ‘parents’ and she has no access to the internet, due to the magic interfering with the devices. But holy hell, this is the worst cause of naivety that I have ever seen, it almost seemed like she was brain washed? But then she still had normal reasonings and opinions inside her head. She seemed obsessed with the fact that she was tall, yet no one else really mentioned it and we are never even told how tall she is, just that she is taller than Kenji and Angelo, who stand around 5.7 Ish. Why was her parents’ insistence on Darik not a red flag? Why did her parents standing idly by while she was sexually assaulted not change her opinion about them in the slightest? Why did she not think it was weird that she was forced to stay home from school, for her birthday, and then told to clean the house all day? Why, why, why, why?
So much of this just did not make sense to me, I hung on as the plot has so much potential, but in the end I was disappointed. It honestly felt like a first draft, a concept. The bare bones were there but that was it. I really hope that this series improves in the next book, but unfortunately, I do not think I will be reading it.
This is a great new adult book. Glori's journey of discovering her own voice will be great, since her mothers made all her decisions for her (even which college she went to) she's always just had to go with what they decided. I especially like that she becomes aware of this and that its something she needs to work on. I can't wait to see who she becomes in future books. I really like the world building in the book, so much information about the Fae and it was given out at just the right pace without seeming like information dumping. This is going to be a great slow burn for the romance, which I'm so excited for. I have my hopefuls on who will be her consorts but I can't wait to see how her relationships develop and how she learns to balance them. Hopefully Angel will be as helpful as he thinks he can be. Also I'm kind of looking forward to Glori's reaction to the Tree of Life ceremony. I received a free copy of this book through Voracious Readers.
I honestly thoroughly enjoyed this, Fae are not my usual genre to read but this caught and held my attention. I especially loved the growth that the FMC showed consistently throughout, she may have been born a Fae but learning the ins and outs of Faedom was refreshingly relatable. Great book overall, definitely a 5 star read.
I'll read the next one, because I borrowed the box set in Kindle Unlimited. But this story was a real drag. It was very repetitive. The first part of the story, before she finds out she's fae, did not need to be even half as long as it was. The main character is not only a pushover but pretty stupid, so that's cringe to read, but hopefully she develops an actual personality in the second book.
There were also a lot of things that just didn't make any sense. Why would her adoptive mothers keep her in the dark about her fae heritage? It would have made WAY more sense if they had raised her as an elf from the start. She would have had absolute trust in them, for one, and they could have molded her into whatever they wanted her to be. It also seems like raising her in Unseelie compounds would have made a lot more sense than out in the human world, where we know the Seelie could easily track her.
Also, how do you even live for 21/25 years with pointed ears and having technology go haywire around you and just like... not think there's anything wrong with that? How did she go to the doctor for things like school shots and physicals? How did she do literally any of the absolutely normal and essential things that technology is now required for? Why did they let her go to public schools? It would have made way more sense to homeschool and isolate her so she never learned how weird she was and didn't have a chance to question her adoptive moms. It was just unbelievable that they would manage to outsmart her actual mom enough to get a hold of her, and then act so stupidly once they had her.
The book's saving grave was that it was short and easy enough to get through in one sitting.
I like the writing style as well as the world building, the plot and most of the characters and I'm really excited about reading the next book. I'd have to take one star off because of Gloriana as I have mixed feelings about her. I like the way we get information about the Fae : it's well brought up and not overwhelming or mecanical/boring in the delivery. It made me want to know more. I could also feel the tension towards the end and I was very much invested for the big final. This series has a lot of potential !
This is a good start to a new series. I loved how the characters are so different. This is definitely going to be a slow burn but I’m here for it. Good read!

I like the writing style as well as the world building. The plot and most of the characters and I'm really excited about reading the next book! I especially loved the growth that the FMC showed consistently throughout. She may have been born a Fae but learning the ins and outs of Faedom was refreshingly relatable. I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!!
I don't usually read Fae romance books but this one caught my eye. I must say I have genuinely enjoyed it. Being the first one in a series there was a lot of world and character building. I like the way we were introduced to other characters and their abilities bit by bit so that we weren't overwhelmed with it all in on ego. Glori was a tad weak but she really does have a lot to cope with not just learning she is the heir to the Fae throne. It would be interesting to read further in this series but as I read through voracious readers I doubt I'll get the chance as I have so many books to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Fae or a series of books continuing a story from one book to the next. I received a copy of this book through Voracious readers only for an honest review. I always give an honest review.
Was a rollercoaster of a read for me. It caught me so hard I had to read it 3 times in order to find any spelling error, and still none jumped at me. The characters had me invested in their thoughts / actions / futures. I loved it enough to tolerate Glori's constant verbal and mental childish plans and her inability to act / think her age. Her monumental plans for the future, bigger and wider than saving 5 extinct races of fae, consisted of "stay with Merc, be normal...". By the last page, every other character in the book, and the story-telling of the author in general, made up for Glory twice over. So, I'm hooked !!
Glori is a college student who, on her 21st birthday, is kidnapped by 3 Fae warriors who will be her royal guards. Unknown to Glori, she is actually their queen and can help restore the power of the Fae… if she survives.
With all of the other heirs already killed off, Glori is being hunted by her new enemies. Will her guards help her learn what she needs to come into her power and save her people? Grab your copy and find out what will happen next!
I've never read Tracy lovelot .... This series is really intriguing I can't wait to get to the next book You won't be disappointed I promise she's that good and I read a lot I'm about to buy every book she ever wrote I can't wait to add it to my book collections
Honestly I could've given this a 1, but I hate being that harsh when someone took the time to write a book.
Let's start with the fact that all these characters act like preteens and are supposed to be 21+. Every single one acts like a child at all times. And at no point do I see them as adults. Or no one has a car and just bikes everywhere? As adults and college students in Colorado I find that incredibly strange and again makes this feel like they were meant to be high school kids, then the author changed her target demographic. Which would explain why the mothers played such a large role in the main characters life because if it was originally a high school book that would make sense. Since it is not a high school book that fact didn't really make a ton of sense.
Speaking of not making sense. This whole book didn't. There are inconsistencies all through it. She transitions at 21, but Kenji and Angel do at different times? Why? If the age of maturity is 21 then why have them be different. We also jump through an entire year of her schooling with little to no need to include it. Why did we start in the first semester when her birthday was not until the next school year? The timeline is unnecessary, we don't gain enough from everyone's first meeting and subsequent issues to really need that. I guess you could argue we get to learn about Angel and Kenji but their pov didn't really add anything to the story that we couldnt figure out in one narrative swoop that would take a chapter.
Speaking of our main love interests, I'm not hating here but it just threw me off that all of them are not your typical romance style heroes. Short, thin, not confident? Okay so am entire cast of people who are insecure and awkward and no one you really root for yet. Again not to judge anyone's taste but after hearing about angels fedora for like the 8th time, and how Kenji is somehow jealous of this very short guy who wears a fedora and pastels...it just doesn't make a ton of sense. A fedora and a leather jacket may just really not be for me? ALSO can we please drop it with the poly versus polygamy argument they keep having? That might have been the most frustrating piece of that entire section. Kenji-monogamy only it's cheating you aren't caring about your partner angel- free love man as long as everyone is chill why put labels on it. Gag. It's a kin to the Madonna whore complex. You don't have to be 100 percent one or the other and having the argument that ultimately just leads to a polyamory relationship in the book is a bad attempt at a foreshadow.
Now onto our main character who I hope for everyone who will continues this series sake grows up and shuts up. I am very confused about the timid mouse behavior and the making herself weaker and smaller around others without a huge reason why. Yes her ears got made fun of and one of her mom's seems to suck most the time but on the nicest way possible SO WHAT! She is also extremely repetitive. Mam we get it you've not had good experience with boyfriends. They pressured you, we got it the first 3 times it came up in the book we didn't need it 8 times
Overall this was not the book for me, and I didn't realize how much until I sat for this review. Sorry y'all.
I actually quite enjoyed this book! I don't typically read new adult, but I liked the characters and really, who doesn't enjoy a reverse harem? I thought Glori was overall, a good main, but I have to admit that I did find her annoying at times - I am often drawn to characters more like Merc so it kind of threw me to see how timid and childish Glori was. By the end, she did have personal growth and I can only hope that it continues as the series continues. The plot, while it had a few points where it lulled, was good and it definitely drew me when I read the blurb. A pretty decent read and it'd be interesting to see what happens next for Glori and future.
Thank you Voracious Readers and Traci Lovelot for my copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
And there is, IMPO, waaaay too much inner dialogue but easily skimmed over. FMC is weak, ignorant, and pliable - frustrating :<. MMCs (still figuring out just who) are varied but enjoyable. It’s a four star read and really hoping Glori comes into her own. Recommend.
I love fae romance reads and I was hoping to fall in love with this story, and a new author for me along the way. Unfortunately, this story wasn't really the one for me. I finished this story but I know I won't be reading the next book in this series even though this one ended in a cliffhanger. I liked some of the characters well enough, but Gloriana was too weak a character for me and I enjoyed her best friend Merc more than I did her. I didn't care for Glori's parents Caci and Janneth. I also didn't like Darik. It's like I started hating character after character for the way they treated Glori and then I disliked Glori because she just went along with everything. Angel and Kenji were likable characters but there was just something about this story that stopped me from really enjoying it. It's hard to enjoy a story when you aren't enjoying the main characters and since the story centered around Gloriana it was a major part of the story. I truly wished she had a backbone or that she grew one at some point in the story but I she didn't. There were a lot of repetitive parts in this story when it came to thoughts and feelings, and the flow of the story was a little too slow. There were parts of this story that I didn't love and there were parts of it that I liked, but it just wasn't enough to make me love this story or even continue with the series. I truly wish I enjoyed it more, but even though this story wasn't for me it doesn't mean that it wont be a great read for others.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I struggled getting through this one. It took me almost two weeks to finish when I typically read through a book in a day or two. Glori was weak and it was hard to find things to endear you to her. I kept wanting her to find some backbone and grow up, especially when we find out her age.
I also wasn't too thrilled with the current love interests. I didn't find any of them strong enough and really didn't care for any of them. If I had to pick, Kenji would be my fav but even he needed to move past his hangups.
I enjoyed Merc and would have loved to see her continue on with Glori but not sure she'll make any more appearances. I haven't downloaded the second book. Still debating if I'm interested in reading another 5 books with these characters.
Story does have promise so I encourage readers to try it out for themselves. I get the back story and why Glori is who she is, but she needs to snap out of it. No more self depreciating monologues for goodness sakes!
I started the book excited then about 20% in I just kept shaking my head and thinking well maybe it gets better. I made it to about 60% with that mindset and couldn't take it anymore. Lord. The Fmc was ridiculous and honestly I wish merc was the main chick in the show. And I wouldn't even care if it turned the book into a ff even if that's not my cup of tea I would have preferred that to this. I get that she was raised to be that way but Lord have mercy she had some spark sometimes for the wrong things. Then taking out her frustrations on the wrong people. Made her less likeable. Nah I was good on pushing through even when angel seemed like a slime douche with how he talked but he said things to make it seem like he was somehow a good guy... Ken was my favorite person along with merc and they both seemed to be the strength of the book and I mainly pushed on for glimpses of them... Read at your own discretion I guess. 🤷🏽♀️
I wanted to like this book so much. I kept pushing it off thinking I’d need to bing the series. Sadly I barely made it through this book. Glori was pathetic. She was a weak, cowering push over who was constantly in her head with a poor me attitude. Plus the book felt like it dragged on and on. I really had to push myself to finish it. I thought for sure Glori would grow some type of backbone and show herself to be a true leader. Unfortunately I was constantly disappointed in her even up till the end. She blindly follows someone who has proven time and time again she couldn’t be trusted just to realize *gasp* she couldn’t be trusted! So disappointed with this book.
I started this but DNFed at 13% because the story is too slow and weird. I cannot get into it. I am really confused because the synopsis led me to think this would be about fae warriors looking for their lost queen, but the potential "warriors" are not acting like it at all. In fact, one of said "warriors" is not even aware of what he even is. A slow burn I can tolerate but a slow af story, not really...
The FMC is also somewhat naïve and so easy to manipulate. I don't like this type of characters at all.
Ok so the story line seems interesting but it was like pulling teeth trying to finish just book. The author terribly long winded; every time any of a couple topics come up, it turns into either a lecture or is just plain droning on. Like Angel being ok with multiple partners: lecture every single time. Glori’s childhood: long winded woe-i-me every single time.
Hmm I cant get into this book, so far I've read almost 100 pages of boring crap of the fmc at college. Add in the guys who will be part of her rh are coming across as 14 yr old boys I think this is maybe more for ya. I prefer to read about men, who act like men.
This was a slower burn than I normally read, but I found the world building to be intriguing. I enjoyed her twist on fae and seelie and unseelie. I will definitely continue with the series to see how it evolves.
I loved this story. It is a very slow burn but it works. It is left on a cliffhanger and I can't wait for more. Fae queen in waiting, elves, fae brought up in the human world but kidnapped first by the unseelie. Gripping story.
I cannot keep with such weak FMC… is so depressing and the level of self pity its eating me alive… like she does know what is happening and what she should do but she just doesnt speak nor stand by herself and I cannot read that… it angers me… i got till 20% and I DNF the book.
