From tragedy to triumph, this book took me on a roller-coaster ride of anguish, pain, and suffering as Gia went from the brink of total destruction to finding hope in a long, dark tunnel. Although a work of fiction, the plot made me wonder about the many thousands of people around the world who have served their country in the military, or who have to deal with the effects of human tragedy and destructive forces on a daily basis as part of their work. Having lost more than most people, the final straw comes when Gia is denied access to her child. She is fortunate in that there is one person who has her back and makes the telephone call that saves her life. Nate has faced his share of demons, and if anyone could understand Gia, he does. Offering the hand of a fellow warrior, he draws Gia in and takes her back to RAW to get the treatment and help she needs. The road back is almost as hard as the one that took her down in the first place, but with people who understand at her side, she almost makes it, until the past intrudes in a shocking and unexpected manner. Both Gia and Nate are set back on their heels as they have to face their demons, but they are fortunately not alone as those who care about them intervene and straighten the path once more. Not everyone makes it, as this story shows, but Nate and Gia finally reach the place where they can face the world together. I received a copy of this incredible novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This book is so emotional so be prepared to have Kleenex with you! It is such a moving book that I felt all the emotions going on in the book. Ms. Eaton has such a gift with her writing that I am always in the book with the characters or become the character. I think one of the hard parts for me in the book was to see Gia as such a strong women in the military fighting against discrimination with her being a woman mechanic. Unfortunately she has some heartbreaking things happen in her life that she turns to alcohol to forget everything that has happened. I was so glad that her stepfather had his nephew Nate that was a part of RAW come to their town to help her. It is so heartbreaking what so many men and women that get out of the military go through. So many of the people working at RAW give so much of themselves to help others as they know what they went through. I totally loved the book and can’t strongly encourage you enough to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

I really love this series and while all the stories are emotional, this one really took me through it. Gianna is such an amazing character full of strength and promise, sadness and turmoil, growth and rebirth. Nate is also a great character and it's nice to see deeper into his story. The whole concept of RAW is amazing to me and I wish it was more of a reality in this world. This story hit home on a different level because I think women hold on to things differnet than men, I think we especailly hold on to guilt. It's a great tale of loss, of others and oneself and how you can come back from the worst of it if you just put the work in. Love it and I hope many many people read it.

This story is not for the faint of heart, and I have to confess that for me, it was a difficult one to read and one I almost didn’t finish. That said, I am glad I did.
The story of Gianna Roberts , a former mechanic in the Army, is a heartbreaking one.
After ten years as a mechanic, most of them overseas, and barely facing not one but three tragic events in her life and an injury that finished her career, she is back statewide.
Gianna is no longer the tough gal she once was and is no longer able to properly take care of her little boy. Especially when she has become an alcoholic and has blackouts.
At her lowest point, a man comes to her rescue and takes her to the Rise Again Warrior complex. A place where veterans suffering from physical, emotional and psychological issues as well as substance abuse, can get help. The man that takes her there is Nate Hardy. A man that once was a patient in Rise Again Warrior, a recovering alcoholic, who now works there.
The attraction is evident , but first, Gianna most heal.
This was another well written story in the series. Kudos to the author for writing this emotional story about the reality some of the brave men and women who are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom, face when they return to the states . Returning to civilian life is not easy. We, as individuals and as a nation, need to do more for them.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This latest addition to this amazing series is so gripping and intense and so so emotional that several times I found myself crying like a baby for what Gianna went through. It’s hard to even imagine what veterans male and female go through, what they see when they are away fighting and this series has really opened my eyes as to what some of them have to face especially when they come home. Gia ‘s world suffered terrible loss not once but three times and she couldn’t find a steady ground once out of the army and instead started on a path of self destruction. Luckily she had people who loved her enough to get the help she needed and get her into RAW. I loved seeing characters from previous books and we get to know Nates story which again had me in tears. It’s an intense and very emotional read that faces a whole host of issues including addiction, betrayal, ptsd, despair and heartbreak but it’s also brings hope and sometimes even a little happiness.

Stacy has done it again with book 4 of the Rise Again Warrior (RAW) book. This time we meet a female veteran - Gianna, an amazing mechanic who has served multiple tours in the sandbox. This is a story that runs you through all the emotions - and some of it is hard to read. But, knowing veterans who have served over the last 20 years in the sandbox and returned - this is real, this is raw. You need to read this book. If you have not served you need to read this to see all that our service men and women have experienced. This is an amazing story. Stacy is a talented writer with such attention to detail.

Another powerful read from Stacy Eaton.
Gianna/Gia certainly needed to have Courage with all that was thrown at her. My emotions were through the roof at times, and I shed quite a few tears, so be warned - you will need tissues.
This series really gets down to the nitty gritty, and delves deep into the problems and darkness that service members deal with once they are back on civvy street. They are often damaged, not just physically with injuries and limbs being amputated, but mentally, turning to drink and drugs to help them numb the pain and memories. Quite a few end up homeless, many commit suicide. This is a sad situation for anyone to be in, but for those who were brave enough to fight for their country, it hits home even harder. But the Rise Again Warrior compound always ensures a happy ending, and this one is even sweeter as we see a member of RAW get their HEA. Emotional, stunning, heartbreaking, but also uplifting. Another hit!

Stacy blew me away with this book. Emotions were pushed to the limits. She gets into the heart and soul of what service people go through. The guilt, the anguish of being alive when so many don't make it. The depth is incredible and raw! What a book to read on Remembrance Day, a day that is always incredibly emotional for me, more so this year, when the freedoms that these great men and women served for, are disappearing before our very eyes. Thank you Stacy for yet another incredible read.

You better have tissues when you read this book. I couldn't help the tears I shed reading parts of this book. Female Vets go thru alot of what men do, but Gianna went through so much and was betrayed by someone who was supposed to love her. It would drive anyone to lose it. Nate got word from his uncle, who happened to be Gianna's step dad, that she was in trouble and needed help. And that's how they met in the bar and brought her back to Tennesse. My heart goes out to all active military and veterans. The HEA was most welcoming.

Gianna is in a really bad place. AFter no yea rain the ehh military, working as a mechanic, she has lost a fiancé, a husband and a son. And she can’t take care of her other son. Can Raise Again Warriors help her face her demons and start a new life or will she bring Nate down with her because of the attraction they share? An emotional love and life story

Kindness

Omg I dried so hard reading this story! Gia is my hero and to go through what she went the through and eventually had the strenght to accept help. Nate and Gia are both addicts so them developing a relationship so soon is not wise. Such an emotional story that it's ultimate message is about forgiveness and kindness to ourselves and others.

I really enjoyed "Mission: Courage" by Stacy Eaton. These are very emotionally charged books in this series and this one is no exception. The story is powerful and leaves you gutted with the awareness of what our vets experience and their journies. I'm looking forward to where Ms. Eaton takes us next. I highly recommend picking up this book/ series.
This author is always a great addition to your book collection.

I love this series and each book sucks me in fast and hard. This story is another amazing emotional and eye opening insight into what many veterans have had to deal with. Gianna Roberts has personally been through so much tragedy with people she has loved and lost. Instead of confronting the demons invading her thoughts due to those losses she seeks the numbness that alcohol can provide. Her young son can’t even break through the demons. Nate has been called in and asked to please help Gianna. He’s intimately familiar with alcoholism and the fight it requires to overcome it and move forward with life while being able to feel everything that is happening to you instead of being numb. Gianna has Nate in her corner and once she admits her addiction she will have the help of everyone and RAW to work through the long and hard steps for better mental health to work confront the demons haunting her. Nate and Gianna’s connection is felt from the beginning and you can’t help but want them to be together, but Nate can’t risk his own sobriety.

Courage One Day at a Time

This was an amazing story from the view of a female soldier who was a gifted mechanic in the very male dominated mechanic transport area of the army. Read what Gia has to overcome as she rises again as a warrior. Learn more of what Nate has gone through. Read on and live one day at a time.

Gianna enlisted in the army after the deaths of her father and brother. She ends up fixing trucks and loves getting her hands dirty. Nate works at Rise Again Warrior and loves his work. Gia has a son. After a terrible tragedy, she starts drinking. Then another two tragedies and she is on a very slippery slope indeed. Leaving her little boy in the park on his own when she has flashbacks to Afghanistan. Her mother's husband asks his nephew, Nate, to take her to RAW for help. Then her long road to recovery begins. What a fabulous author. She writes the most wonderful books and all of them are very highly recommended.

This series is about the men and women who serve our country. How do they cope with what they've seen and done while in service. Drugs and alcohol. And if they can't, suicide. Rise Again Warrior is a fictional place, but the stories are based on real problems these people face. This one shows women face these problems as well as men. Her name is Gia. She served our country and had personal hardships to deal with too. Alcohol was her way of coping and Nate is the man who brings her to RAW. This one is about her struggles to get her life together and find her HEA with him. This series will stay on my Kindle for a re-read in the future. I received an ARC for an honest review.

A compelling story that draws you in.

Stacy has surpassed herself with this series. Not only has she picked a subject that we don't want to think about in are every day lives. She has opened our eye's to the truth.
Unfortunately there are not enough facilities to help people with addictions, and certainly not to the standard of the one described in these books.
Service men and women need these facilities all over the world, instead many are left to fight their demons alone.

Gia was a mechanic in the Army who had tragedy after tragedy. With all that went on she turned into a blackout drunk. Nate is an intake for RAW. Gia's step-dad, who happened to be Nate's uncle asked him to help Gia. Nate agreed, he met up with Gia at a bar when she was at her lowest.

The Rise Again series is one of the best I have read. Make sure you have tissues handy you wi be going on an emotional rollercoaster. I highly recommend you read all in this series. They are all amazing stories.

Stacy Eaton has a way of bringing real life situations to her fictional characters. Ms. Eaton’s research is amazing, and she uses that to reach deep down and pull at the heart strings. The Rise Again Warrior series is full of love and heartache and a huge roller coaster ride. This series requires a box of tissue while reading.
Gianna’s story is real for so many of our Veterans. This series makes you so grateful for our men and women that fight, every day, for our freedom.
Kudos Ms. Eaton!

A truly heartfelt story of being in the military and the feelings they deal with once stateside. The effect on them, their family and friends. Turning to alcohol for Gianna was her downfall. With the help of others at Rise Again Warrior will be her salvation.

It’s always good to get a glimpse behind the wire and find out how everyone is doing. As usual there are setbacks and tears – I never read these books without tissues nearby – but there is always hope. It was interesting to read things from a woman serving her country.

A Compelling & Heartfelt Story & Listen🎧📚🎧 Amazing Series!

Mission: Courage
Rise Again Warrior Series, Book 4
By: Stacy Eaton
Narrated by: Flo Kepner

I am loving Stacy Eaton’s “Rise Again Warrior Series” and the concept of “Rise Again”, a facility that helps Veterans in need, whether it is from their physical injuries or struggling with PTSD and returning to civilian life after their career with the military ended. Eaton does an amazing job bringing you right alongside the character, making you see and feel everything the character is going thru and thinking. This fourth book is Gianna Roberts’ story and we get a bird’ eye view of her journey in the army, struggles she faced as a female and having to prove herself worthy in a man’s world. She fell in love while serving and had her future planned, only for it to be ripped out of her hands. After reenlisting and a promotion, she runs into someone from her past and the two hit it off. Things were looking up for her, but it was short-lived because everything in her life goes FUBAR. She is home and is struggling with adjusting to civilian life, her guilt is eating her alive and she drowns her sorrow with alcohol. Her mother’s boyfriend asks his nephew Nate, who works with Rise Again, for help. Nate comes to access Gianna, and he recognizes the look she has in her eyes, the same look he had when he was at his lowest. He convinces her to go to rehab, but when she is sober, she does not know where she is or what she signed up for. Stacy Eaton keeps it all real, Gianna’s journey to recovery is not an easy one, but the Rise Again Warriors have her back and so does Nate. This beautifully written and plotted story has plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments, as well as gut-wrenching ones and romance. Stacy Eaton, thank you for another amazing story and for writing a story that needs to be heard.

🎧📚🎧 And for the terrific narration, Flo Kepner had a complete understanding of the characters she was portraying, gave each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. She set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into her performance. Kepner is an entertain storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

I’m not even sure how to start this review. The author is unbelievably talented and has the ability to write books that pull at your heart, makes you remember what our veterans are dealing with and just describes everything so clearly. Like I said in other books, she is spot on with the Military information. My son-in-law is in the Army and some of the things she says in the books seem like they are coming out of his mouth. I think this one was especially good, even though I went through many tissues. An Army girl, Gianna Roberts who is a mechanic, is rare and everything she has gone through is so difficult. Just being a woman in the Army and then a mechanic couldn’t be easy. But she held her own. Unfortunately, she goes through a lot in her life. A fiance that cheats, being pregnant all along, finding love again gets married is pregnant and loses her husband. She feels incredibly guilty for everything that has happened and goes to the one thing that might dull her now but in the end is more of a demon. That demon is being an alcoholic. She is lucky when her stepfather wants to help and calls his nephew who works at RAW helping veterans who need help. She may not have wanted to go in the beginning but ends up going. The man who did the intake, Nate, finds himself in a bad position with feelings for Gianna that are different from others. As she is going through the process of getting sober, they skirt around their feelings. The story shows the bad side of people with additions. It also shows people with tremendous strength and will to get off of whatever they are addicted to with the help of the RAW Rise Again Warrior facility. I could go on and on about how great it is, but I would just tell you…..READ it. You will not be sorry and will definitely want to read the other three. I hope there is another book in the works.

This is book four in The Rise Again Warrior Series and it is Gianna and Nate's story and omg what an emotional and definitely a must read. Gia is a mechanic in the army as she has always tinkered with car's and loved what she did but her job was not made easy in a male dominated world and she was looking forward to some R&R before going back to her active duty but things change some for the better and some not so good. When Gia was injured and discharged from the army and the job and camaraderie that she loves so much her life spiralled into drinking so much that she needed help and that is when Nate from RAW decided to help her not only get sober but also get her life back together and on track but it would not be easy. Omg I felt all the pain that Gia was going through as if I was there with her feeling all the pain and how much loss can one person to through before they break just like Gia did and I can really understand why. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I cried so much while reading this story but I still couldn't put it down as it was so addictive and I wanted to know what would happen next. Stacy Eaton is an amazing author and writer and her books are written with so much care and compassion on a very difficult subjects and I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

Mission: Courage
Rise Again Warrior Series, Book 4
By: Stacy Eaton
Narrated by: Flo Kepner

There are some books that just stick with you, and every book in the Rise Again Warrior series meets that criteria for me. Stacy Eaton delivers another incredible installment with Gianna, who made decisions in her life that may not have been the best, but were best for her. Serving her country for 10 years, she is now discharged and having difficulty acclimating to civilian life. Actually, that is an understatement. Eaton takes us on her journey through guilt and addiction that is heartbreaking. The life she was leading surely would have ended in her own death, but she has support she didn't even know she had. I felt her love and her pain, the struggle and the triumph. It has a bit of everything from romance to good health and it's fabulously written. We owe so much to our veterans, and Eaton gives us a small look into what it costs. Love this, I think though fiction, it gives a true look into life after service. Amazing and can't wait to hear the next one.

Flo Kepner is our narrator and she does a great job of telling this story. At first I thought she was a bit harsh, but after getting to know Gianna, she is spot on with her personality. She easily transitions between characters with distinguishing voices and has a good pace. I enjoyed her performance and the book.
