I am a ghost. A killer. A savior. A guardian. I am the vampyre prince. They think I was murdered by my uncle, the king - but I've been waiting, plotting, for this moment for two years. And he was never part of the plan - the alpha wolf making me question everything I've ever wanted. -------------- Reeve Rimeara is a young alpha, not yet ready to take his father's place and lead his pack, though his rising power can't be denied. Upon receiving his alpha rites, he is blessed with a sacred vision; one that shakes him to the core. And all too soon, his fate arrives at the border of his pack's land. Daire Heroux is the vampyre prince and a revered guardian, trained to be faster, stronger, and more lethal than any natural threat to the alpha wolf he might choose to one day serve. After his sire is murdered by the king, Daire fakes his own death to flee his coven and betray his kingdom, all in the hopes to untangle a web of murder and lies and bring vengeance upon the vampyre king. Reeve and Daire must stop battling each other, and themselves, before they can unite to try and stop a king whose power is unlike anything their world has ever known.
I’m kinda upset this book isn’t getting more hype !! Absolutely adored it !!! paranormal m/m wolves and vampires action packed ,witty and sarcastic banter , low angst , a believable romance ! Just so much happened and so much of it was so good and I wish this is a series so I can get Peter’s book too will definitely read more books by this author !!
One is an alpha wolf. The other, a vampyre prince. In an instant, both lives will be changed.
Reeve, an alpha wolf, must take his place of power. Receiving his gifts provides him the foresight of his fate. None of which he was truly prepared for.
Daire is a vampyre prince. When a murder changes his life, Daire decides to fake his own death. Revenge kept him focused. Only the man he's fixated on isn't the true enemy of is ire.
Politics and two aggravating MCs, will probably have you metaphorically pulling out your hair. From the first page to the last, you will have a few moments of angst.
An excellent story and I definitely recommend!

I liked the world building here: it’s an intricate society with werewolves, vampires and priestesses of a religion that’s somewhat nebulous in its particulars but seems to celebrate nature and communion with it. It’s clearly the product of careful thought and design, and the author does a great job, I think, of overlaying how it’s supposed to work with how it actually does, as the political system of the vampire king and his coven is corrupted and pulling everything else out of sync. The only issue I had was that the powers and hierarchies described don’t seem to stay the same: there’s a lot of info early on about how much more powerful (ridiculously so) vampires are than werewolves, but supposedly Reeve is the most powerful werewolf and his (mostly unseen) awesomeness makes him the chosen one, who is…still not as powerful as any vampire? And that’s even without the confusing subsection of vampires that is the warders, vampires with special powers, thrown in. So I loved the mythology, thought the societies were interesting, and have no idea what to do with the species’ hierarchy of abilities, which bothers my need for order more than I’d like.
The characters were all interesting, although I ended up liking the supporting characters more than the protagonists. Reeve’s brother Ranier and Daire’s combat partner Peter were my favorites, hands down. I sometimes lost patience with Daire and Reeve, both as partners in politics and in romance. A lot (ok all) of their communication problems are Daire’s fault but the blame is placed squarely on Reeve. Daire lies about who he is, repeatedly lies about the true capabilities of vampires, and doesn’t even discuss the bare minimum of the ways he plans to use Reeve to recover his throne with him, assuming, he says, that Reeve’s father will have done so. He’s great a manipulation, terrible at communication, and I really didn’t love that the book expected readers to follow his “I’ve never told anyone anything vaguely like the truth…but somehow he doesn’t trust me…how wronged and betrayed I am” logic. Trust me even though I’ve never bothered to confide in you is… not a good look.
Overall, however, I found the story engrossing and easy to get caught up in, and the ending was worth all of the troubles along the way.

Reeve Rimeara is a young alpha wolf. Omicron Easton leads him to an area to talk about Reeve’s future role as their leader while he undergoes alpha rites. Although he is not ready to take his father's place as leader of the pack, his power is rising. The alpha rites he receives gives him a sacred vision that shakes him up as he hears thousands of bats, shrieking and fluttering their wings as they call to him. They press on him and blood runs from his nose. Then Omi wakes him and helps him away from the stones as he says he must hurry to get him to his father, the Alpha. Reeve had experienced an actual “alpha’s vision”, the rarest of a wolf’s divine blessings. His father never had one, nor did his father. He woke again, wrapped in a blanket as his father and Omi sought guidance from the goddess Satu. Reeve’s fate will soon be arriving at the border of the pack's land. There is something coming that is calling to his blood.
Daire Heroux is the vampyre prince, faster, stronger, and more lethal than any threat to the alpha wolf he might one day serve. Daire fakes his death when his sire is killed and runs. Can Reeve and Daire stop fighting each other so they can unite to stop the vampyre king whose power is unlike anything their world has ever known? Can they together defeat him?
Please let there be another book. That was amazing. The world building was wonderful, so many new aspects to how vampires work and how wolf packs work. I really liked the difference. I want to stay in this world and learn more. I do feel like they didn’t use R’s to its fullest. They hyped it up the entire book, that when it finally came time to use it, it was more of an ehh. Like a firework with no bang. I also was expecting more from their bond. I’m hoping there is another book so we can maybe explore Peter’s love. Or I’d be fine with another couple, either way I feel like the world isn’t at peace and thee were still lots of work and battles and figuring out to be had. The writing was great, smexy was good, and there are plenty of side characters I like to learn about
I am not sure if this will be turned into a series, but I want more. I was fascinated by this book and the intricate world-building. The story is full of action, danger, prophecy, secrets, and surprises. The MCs were aggravating sometimes, and I often wondered if they would ever get it together enough to work together. I loved the side characters of Peter and Rainer. Maybe there will be a story(ies) about them?

I am so happy I could cry, it was perfect book from the start to the end. It made sense, it has plot and most importantly perfect characters than you just love and feel the chemistry between. I would welcome few more pages just to see little bit more of their journey together. Not necessarily another book just chapter or two… But I am happy to find this book and after many many books read I can finally after really long time say: That book was worth the money. So thank you.
That was frankly terrible. Like a tween dungeon master editing the lore of a bad story he is telling on the fly. The writing and book both have terrible structure. Nothing feels properly motivated and is always explained directly afterwards in, like, a thought sidebar. The sex scenes are super meh. Whatever happens is always a surprise because the established behavior of the characters never informs their next actions. Every new bit of lore is dumber and more dramatic and more convenient than the last. If this wasn't my last bingo book I would have DNF'd at less than a third.
I liked Blood Moon by Brier James. Brier James is a new-to-me author, and I liked Daire and Reeve. I enjoyed the comic relief provided by Peter and Rainer's bickering. I liked the hidden secrets surrounding Daire and all of the twists and turns in the book. Some you could see coming, but others took me by surprise. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Brier James' Blood Moon is just absolute incredible. From this beginning, this story and the characters just captivated me. The world building is just so well-thought out and so detailed. The characters are so rich that I can imagine their thoughts and conversations as if they're real people. I couldn't stop reading until I was done. I want to read more about Reeve and Faire. I want more from his author!

Solid world building, mostly compelling heroes and some good supporting characters. I think above a lot of fantasy m/m out there, but I would say suffers from a bit of indecision on tone (and a pretty quick wrap up of story behind the romance). Is this a high fantasy tale of with ominous portents, a kingdom to overthrow, and fated lovers? Or is this an snarky, urban fantasy (vibe) romance with charming bro-y friendships? Nonetheless a solid read
I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in this world and I’m hoping that there are more books to come. This book has a chill vibe even as there is an epic battle to fight. I really felt connected to the main characters and there were great side characters that I grew to care about quickly.
I'm giving it 3 stars due to personal preference. I don't like it when the MC don't like each other or when one or both of them fight the idea of being together. Once they were past that then I was invested enough to finish but I wouldn't read again.
Vampyre as healer and hunter, hints that story may be set in a world much like our own, an attraction that they both fight without too much denial, a goddess that’s a whole lot more present—at least her earthly priests are taking one side in the conflict.
I absolutely loved this story! Reeve and Daire are both amazing and together, they are unstoppable. I loved their story and their families. I would love to see a sequel!
I was too confused too often. I often time was feeling that dialoge was missing or that characters came to weird conclusions. I often times did not understand the time and location jumps and some of the lore is explained so late in the book that you struggle with concepts the rest of it.
