I thoroughly enjoyed this short novella by Hope Ford. It continues the saga of the folks from the small town on Whisky Run.

Lakelyn is in Whisky Run to shoot a commercial. She is a plus size model and she instantly grabs the attention of Tate James the local mechanic. He doesn’t want to get involved with her because he feels that they are so different and he will get heartbroken again.

Very well written. Fast paced and an excellent story.

Violet in Whiskey River is right back at her matchmaking. This time she’s determined to set up her brother, Tate, who has been hurt by a woman who wanted more out of life than the small town, blue collar life that he had to offer.

Enter Lakelyn who is in town to shoot a commercial for the towns famous whiskey. It’s insta love for her and Tate. However, Tate is more than a little reluctant to be with her as she is a city girl and he knows that he can’t possibly be what she wants. Lakelyn doesn’t take his dismissal lying down. Normally I’m not into overly assertive heroines that chase down the hero but what choice does she have? She wants Tate and he doesn’t realize that she would give up everything for him, that this small toe life is exactly what she’s looking for. If only he would ask her.

We can’t even be surprised anymore that Violet knows what she’s doing. Can I get her to match me up with someone?

STORY:
Tate’s story was a surprise to me at the end of Violet’s story. I really love the supermodel with the mechanic. It reminds me of the music video UPTOWN GIRL. It was a cute Insta love story and I liked that although Lake was a supermodel, she was so down to earth and nice. Tate gave you whip lash with his indecisiveness, and that’s understandable because of his past.



SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
I like their sexual chemistry. It was satisfactory.


SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
So towards the end, I see the author is going to do a new spin off series Whiskey Run: Savage Ink. This will be with Aiden and Gracie mentioned at the end of the book.


OVERALL:
A likable Insta love story. I enjoyed this series so much.

“Devoted” is the story of Lakelyn and Tate.

A small town mechanic meets a curvy model and sparks fly. He is sure she will leave him, she is waiting for him to ask to stay. They make love, have small miscommunications and soon resolved everything and getting their HEA.

It was a good one time read.

A model and a mechanic don't belong together. At least that's what Tate tells himself. From the first moment, he saw Lakelyn he was attracted, who wouldn't be she was gorgeous. When he thought she was just someone working on the set of the promo shoot for Blaze Whiskey he wanted her. Now he knows who she is all he sees are the things that are different about him. The things that drove his ex away. He'll walk away and not look back. No matter what his meddling sister Violet says.

Lakelyn isn't usually interested in guys, she's happy to work hard and steal a really good piece of cake when she can. But when Tate brings the food by the set suddenly she's not so interested in the cake. After he disappears on her she decides she's not ready to give up the instant attraction yet, after finding him she pushes Tate to admit there is something between them. They should at least be friends, but no matter how hard they fight it the chemistry is too strong.

Tate could mess it all up because he doesn't know why someone like Lake would be with him, but he's going to give it a try. She is everything he could ever want, he just hopes Lake feels the same way about him and his life. Somehow they will have to make it work.

Another great read in the Whiskey Run series. This time we have Tate and Lakelyn. Tate’s ex did a number on him and now he’s insecure. Lakelyn is in town filming a commercial and set to leave in a few days. Even with the chemistry that sizzles between them, Tate doesn’t think he’s good enough for the city girl. Lakelyn isn’t who she appears to be and when Tate finds out he’s in for the shock of his life. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Tate finally gets his girl

Tate is wary, he has been burnt before and is convinced Lakelyn is too 'big city' to stay in Whiskey Run, but you should never judge a person by the way they look. Lakelyn may look glam but she likes nothing better than getting dirty in Tate's garage, she's a girl who knows her cars and Tate and that definitely revs Tate's motor, he cannot keep his hands off.
A lovely addition to the series and Violet has another success too!

Tate can’t risk another 💔 on a big city woman

This is the fifth story, and final for at least now, in the Whiskey Run series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend they be read in publication date for maximum reader satisfaction. There are some reoccurring characters, including the town matchmaker and diner owner, Violet.

These have been very fast reads, with a surprising amount of detail built in. I am loving the continuity of this series and the ‘matchmaker’ angle.

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There were only a couple grammatical issues involving incorrect punctuation, so nothing difficult to interpret.

⛔️ Contains scenes that may be a trigger or offensive for sensitive readers. These include adult language, adult intimate scenes, low self-esteem, and violence with thoughts of fighting due to jealousy.

Here is how the story begins:

Lakelyn is a plus-sized model that is in Whiskey Run shooting a commercial. So far, she is loving the small town. Lakelyn doesn’t know why, but she has felt at home since arriving and checking into a local B and B.

Tate is Violet’s older brother and he owns and operates a garage. The people around town tell him, and everyone that will listen, that he will never settle down. This is because he was engaged once and his fiancée left him behind for the big city … he just wasn’t enough for her. Since then he has kept to himself and avoided anything like a relationship.

Then Violet needs someone to deliver some food to the group at commercial shoot since she is due to deliver any day and he volunteers. Tate is sure she is up to something, but he takes the bags down a couple of blocks and starts to set out the food. He must look lost, because the most beautiful woman he has ever seen starts helping him. Tate looks at her and his reaction to her is immediate and breathe taking.

Lakelyn is waiting for makeup when a man walks in with bags of what turns out to be food. He is gorgeous! It is apparent though that catering is not his main gig because of the way he is setting stuff out on the table, so Lakelyn rushes over to assist … and it doesn’t have anything to do with his looks or his effect on her …

Tate was given a piece of cake specifically for Lakelyn. When she takes a bite, he can’t take his eyes off her or contain his reaction to her moan. He wants to hear it again … but not while eating. They have talked a little, flirted and had a couple of touches, but he still wants more. Then a man rushes over and takes the cake away from her and he scolds her for eating it! Tate wants to wipe the floor with him!

Lakelyn was really enjoying that cake, it is the best she has ever tasted. She knew she shouldn’t indulge, as they shoot some shots today and film tomorrow, but it was so good! Plus it was delivered by Tate. After Kameron takes the cake away from her and lets her know makeup is ready, she doesn’t want to leave him without knowing he will stay.

Tate agreed to wait and after she leaves, he is approached by one of the old men who hang around the town and gossip. He doesn’t give him any juicy material and before he knows it, Lakelyn has exited the tent … Holy cow … but it isn’t the same Lakelyn that entered. Now it is apparent that she is not here to work on the commercial, she is here to star in it … and is way out of his league …

We all know what Whiskey Run is famous for; the Cinnamon Whiskey made in the whiskey factory near the edge of town and running a close second is Violet’s Apple Cinnamon Blaze cake.

Lakelyn is in Whiskey Run to do a shoot and make a commercial for the town’s Cinnamon Whiskey and while waiting for make-up she eye’s a very handsome man standing there with several bags that look to be filled with food! When Lakelyn realizes that Tate is Violet’s brother she wants to get to know more about Tate.

Tate would love to get to know Lakelyn, but once bit, twice shy and Tate doesn’t have a very positive outlook when it comes to women. He can thank his ex for that…because in reality Tate is a really nice guy!

Like all of Author Hope Ford’s Whiskey Run books, we have an instant connection for our two main characters. Will Lakelyn be the one to help Tate realize what his ex-fiancé did to him had nothing to do with his worth and everything to do with her attitude?

Will they find something that they share in common? Is Lakelyn hiding something from Tate and if she is could that be the thing that will bring them together?

Short, sweet with a bit of cinnamon on the side!

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
By the time you’ve figured out who is who, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
This is book five of the Whiskey Run series it appears each book will read as a standalone however, why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. This one is about Tate sexy as all get out brother of Violet who is the town’s matchmaker and really good at it. Lakelyn is a model in town for a min…Violet sends Tate who has been hurt in the past offer with food from the diner immediately the chemistry is intense, and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but can Tate move past the hurt and insecurities, is his sister right about this match and can they find happiness?

Another ok read.
Short and quick.
I took stars off purely because I hate when authors talk about the guy only wanting to marry a girl to "Breed Her" so gross.
There was also the part after he took her v card, and he cleaned her up, where he kept the cloth. "I fold it and put it in my back pocket. There's no way I'm going to tell her that I'll probably be stroking my xx with it when she's gone. " 🤮🤮 Every girls dream 🙃🙄
And last in the Epilogue, im not sure the author knows how pregnancy works. One part it says she is only a "few months along," which would be 2-3 months first trimester.. but magically, she was able to get a scan done that showed the genders of the twins clearly apparently 🙄 so is it a few months or the general 5ish months? (19/ 20-week scan)
And I'm confused because the makeup artist said that "Don't judge her. There's things you don't know about her, and they are for her to tell you. "... she never told him anything that would account for that.. we barely know anything about her, only that she was pushed to do pageants but loved working on cars with her dad.. oooo, so serious and judge worthy.. wth obviously something was edited out, or the author just forgot.

This one irritated me a bit, not going to lie. Tate and Lakelyn had great chemistry but Tate is super nervous to get into anything with her because his ex fiancee left him because she wanted better than a small town mechanic. I get that he thinks Lakelyn is this beautiful model from the city and he is not good enough for her but instead of talking to her, he pushes her away, HARD. He is a jerk to her when she tracks him down and she literally has to chase after him at every turn, it was getting a bit pathetic to be honest. He never thought to ask her what she wanted and she almost left Whiskey Run because he was not brave enough to say anything. She is literally the perfect girl for him. She grew up with a mechanic father and probably knows more about vehicles than Tate does and she wanted to retire from modeling and stay in the small town. Thank you Lakelyn for never giving up and good on you for going hard after what you want. Tate is not my kind of man, I need an alpha who will fight for me! This is not on my read again list.

After Tate's fiancée did a number on him and left, he figured he would grow old alone. Lakelyn is a model and is only in town for several days, but after stopping in the diner the winds may changes. Tate's sister, Violet, has for his help to take food to the photo shoot. When Tate arrives, he is taken back when he meets Lakelyn. Thinking she was part of a crew, becomes floored when he found out she was a model.

Devoted will pull at your heart. Tate's ex crushed him to the point that even though he loved what he did, he had some self doubt. Lakelyn is a plus size model, but grew up around cars (love that) so when she looked at Tate, she did not see the dirt and grim, it was his heart. Their story is well written, Tate's struggle with himself is strong, but I love the strength Lakelyn show to go for what she want.

As with all of the amazing books in this series, the stroy is incredibly well developed. I love all of the characters in this wonderful little world that Hope Ford created for us. You just can´t help but feel connected to them, and invested in their happiness. Lakelyn is so strong, confident, independent, and fierce. She knows what she wants and she knows her worth! And what she wants is Tate. It was awesome to read about the girl taking the lead and persuing the man.... she is definitely alpha (or the girl equivalent of alpha, lol!) . Tate is no less imposing, yet more reserved than Lakelyn... he´s hard working, strong, and protective. Their chemistry is off the charts ... absolutely hot! Their story is fun and easy to read!

Devoted is Book 5 in Hope Ford's awesome Whiskey Run series and tells the story of Tate (aka Violet's brother) and Lakelyn. The town mechanic is set up by his sister (the town matchmaker) when a very pregnant Violet asks Tate to deliver lunch to the set of a commercial they are filming in town. As soon as he arrives, he lays eyes on Lakelyn, and they connect - before he finds out she's a model and the star of the commercial. Thinking a city girl model would want nothing to do with a small town mechanic like him, Tate tries to distance himself from the curvy beauty - but turns out the two of them are more alike than he realizes! This is a wonderfully-written, beautiful small-town instalove romance with two very engaging characters ( and a few fun cameos from Violet and Josh!).

This is book number 5 of the Whiskey Run series and focuses on Tate and Lakelyn. Tate is Violet's brother (from book 4) and he is helping her out by delivering some food that she is catering to a photoshoot. This is where he meets Lakelyn. Tate had been seriously hurt by his ex when she left him and he uses his past hurts to keep Lakelyn at arms length. Lakelyn knows that she wants Tate but every time they make progress with each other Tate pulls away and ends up hurting her feelings. I loved when Tate finally got his head out of his butt and finally went after Lakelyn. I really enjoyed this story and I cannot wait for the new spin off series!

Book five of the Whiskey Run series by Ms. Hope Ford. I am sure about one thing. This book is yet another one of the books that I have loved by Ms. Ford. These two are very well suited for one another. You know you have to have that person that makes your other half work out right and vice versa. Well that is this couple. The chemistry is there along with the balance that they both need in their lives. He has been hurt so it might take a bit for him to realize that she is really what he wants when she already knows he is what she wants. But can he really figure this out before he hurts her too bad and not let him back in?

Devoted, Whiskey Run 5 by Hope Ford. When Tate sees Lakelyn, he knows she's special. Maybe too special for him. The mechanic is determined to keep the model at arm's length. But he underestimates Lakelyn - she's more than just a pretty face and has more in common with him than he realizes. How long can he resist? I really like this romance! I like the names, the multi-layered likable characters, the supporting cast, Lakelyn's dialogue (especially how she deals with rude people), the conflict, how misconceptions can interfere with happiness and the value of communication. Short romance, told in dual POV, sweet with heat, emotional, passionate, 5 stars!

This was so good! Honestly this ranked up there with Tate's sister book in how much I loved it. These books in the series just seem to get better and better. Lakelyn is so sweet. Tate has been burned before so a lot of what he puts her through is from his past. The connection between them is so strong and sweet at the same time. Props to Lakelyn for pushing him because these two were perfect together. It was a fast read but it was such a great read. Highly recommend this series. I think this can be read as a standalone but think it would be better to read the series, at least the previous book Seduced.

Whiskey Run

Take some hot, pour it in to a bowl of sweet and… ..BAM! You’ve got Whiskey Run! You will love the characters, they are so well developed and loveable. Tate and Lakelynn make a beautiful couple, they are the grand finale to the series! You probably know the saying once burned twice shy, well, that is Tate. He is loving, dependable and protective over his sister and his heart. Lakelynn is a delightful young woman who goes with her gut and has no problem letting her wants be known. Together they are awesome, with all the feels. I would love some bonus scenes or an epilogue for these two. I am thrilled that a tease for a spin off series was included, I’m looking forward to it.💖💖

Tate runs the mechanic shop in Whiskey Run. Lakelyn is a model who is taping commercials for the Whiskey they make there. These two connect and it is fireworks. Tate thinks he has no chance with her and she is from a different high end world. Little does he know that her father is a mechanic and she was raised on cars.
The characters are terrific, heartwarming and kind to each other and their families are super supportive, especially his sister Violet who has a feeling about them. The storyline follows as she works and gets to know him better. He backs off and does not feel worthy until she changes his mind. Working on cars together seals the deal. Sure do love this series.

Amazing book! Wonderful quick read. A HEA that is awesome!

Tate is Voilet's brother, but he has nothing to do with Red's Diner. Tate owns Jenning's Auto Repair, the only auto repair shop in Whiskey Run. Lakelyn is a model and is in town shooting a commercial and photoshoot, when she spots Tate bring in the food from Red's Diner, as a favor for his sister. 😉 Tate and Likely can't stop looking at each other. Lakelyn has to be pulled away from Tate so production can continue. Tate is a mechanic and feels because of his last relationship Likely will want nothing to do with him. Likely keeps showing up to let Tate know she wants him in her life. Tate finally give in to his heart, Lakelyn has turned down her next modeling job offer to stay in Whiskey Run.

I loved this book. Tate and Lakelyn were fantastic together. I loved the connection and the chemistry between these two. Tate is drawn to Lakelyn but tries to keep her arms length because of his hurtful past. Lakelyn is sassy and is willing to do anything to get Tate to open up and just with her. These two have some issues to work out but once all the walls are down, you can't keep Lakelyn and Tate apart. I have loved this whole series and I can't wait for the spin off. I would highly recommend this book and Ms. Hope as an awesome and must read author.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. The men in the Whiskey Run series have all been sexy, stand up men with a little insecurity. That is until they meet their match. This story is about Tate and Lakelyn. When they meet, she sees him for who he is, while he questions her and his own feelings. It is so hard for him to trust again. Lakelyn is perfect for him and he almost blows it. They end up with their happy future together. I liked all of the characters in this book.

Instalove at its finest. This novel is insta. Insta love, insta bed, insta refreshing and insta read. Short, to the point and really quick to read. I liked it anyway. Normally there are always some issues with to much or not enough information to keep something so short flowing but that’s not the case here. I couldn’t find anything missing even if I stood right behind them. So, take out your apérol and cheesefingers, sit in your reading nock and enjoy the read!

Tate & Lyn Book 5

This is the final Whiskey Run book. It's about Violet's brother meeting a model that is in town for a few days.

He reluctantly but also is unable to walk away from her or stay away from her.

But Lynn won't take no for an answer and she is secretly his perfect match if he allows her to show him her whole self and not what he thinks he sees.

There are a few grammar is and I really wish the scenes were longer.

We do get introduced into the next series Whiskey Run Inked.
