Kali & Troy
First off, I really wish I had Never read the blurb. Nothing in the story says Troy plays women and does anything with them just to get close to targets, or even that he's done that specific thing before. But, because of that blurb/synopsis, the whole time I'm reading the evolution of their relationship, all I can think is damn, he gets this close? This involved with them? Like its no big deal? Plays innocent women to this degree?? So, as you can imagine... Not a good look. Without that prior knowledge, I could've just thought it was a crappy thing to try, but hey..he fell in love and now has to fight for her. Good story, right?! And it was a good story, and I hope the Author deletes that bit from the synopsis for others. I'm still unsure when he stopped faking it and hope it was prior to anything irredeemable, because I'd like him to be redeemable and am glad they got a hea.
Also, a little unclear on the whole plot, shouldn't Kali be running things totally now? Did no truths come out or was any justice done? I still would recommend this story.

Fabulous, absolutely love this one. A nice quick short read.
Troy and Kali have knew each other for years, their mothers are best friends. Kali's mom would visit Troy's mom and Kali would hang out with Troy's younger sister since they are the same age. Kali's dad was murdered, so her and her mom left the island where she was a princess, then her mom remarried. Troy gets his phone call for his next hit, but he's not happy on who he has to take out this time. He runs into Kali in the grocery store and offers to make her a home cooked meal. She accepts his offer and he comes over later that night. When he finds out she doesn't get out much he offers to take her out to have some fun, but she's can't ask any questions. They head on a plane to Vonatoan, she wasn't going to go to her uncle birthday party she hasn't been back in fourteen years. They stay at her father's home, she gives Troy the master suite, she takes the second master suite. They get ready to go out to have dinner when Kali has trouble with her zipper so she calls out to Troy for help. He runs his had down her back and he tells her they don't have to go to dinner. He takes off her dress, he tells her to pleasure herself and he does the same. Then they get physical, then get in the shower, heading to bed to get physical again after that. The next night they get ready for her uncle birthday party, when they arrive her uncle introduces her. The crowd is shocked she has returned, her uncle tells them they will welcome her she isn't like her father. Kali's uncle tells her her father was working with other countries to have him overthrow him and take the crown for himself. Kali calls her uncle a liar and walks away heading to the nearest room. Kali tells Troy how much she hates her uncle, she also tells Troy she had her fathers murder invested but no one knows this. She found out her uncle is the product of an affair her grandmother had, so he isn't biologically related to the king her grandfather. Troy asks her if she thinks her uncle had someone kill her father, she tells him yes. Troy turns to leave and he tells her to stay here. She asks him where he is going and he tells her her uncle is going to pay. Kali asks Troy if it's him, if he's the hitman she hired. She breaks down in tears when he asks her if she ordered a hit. She tells him she's not a bad person, he tells her he's not judging her, he tells her he's going to make his right for her. Troy gets his duffle from the car then heads to the location he scoped out earlier. He has the king all lined up when he snaps his head up and Troy knows someone else is in the room. He waits for the person to leave but when they come into view he sees Kali, after a moment Troy realizes they are arguing. The king starts to strangle Kali but Troy know he can't make it to her in time. Kali picks up something and stables her uncle, Troy takes his shot then runs to her. Kali grabs some tissues to wipe the handle clean of the letter opener she stabbed her uncle with, she thinks she killed him. Troy comes in when she hears the door open, she tells him she killed him. Troy tells her she didn't he saw everything, he tells her he shot her uncle. He tells her they need to make it look like they are having a good time when they leave this room. They leave the party and make it look like they need some alone time. They call their driver and head back to her father's home. They come up with a story for the police when they come knocking on the door. They stick to their story and the next day they had back to LA on the private plane of the kings. Troy tries to talk to Kali but she is headed into depression. He asks to help her with her bags but she tells him she has it and he needs to leave. He tells her not to do this but she tells him again to leave. Kali lays in her bed for over a week, people call her but she doesn't answer, her cousin calls her and she picks up the phone. Her cousin tells her not to fall into a depression, to let Troy help her. While she is talking to her cousin Troy calls her, so she takes his call. He is outside her door wanting her to let him in, he tells her he loves her. She tells him he used her to get what he wanted, he tells her she's the one that ordered the hit. She opens the door when he tells her he is sorry. She asks him if it gets better and he tells her eventually. He tells her he misses her, he wants her to be his forever. He tells her he loves her she loves him it could all work out. She tells him it can't work out she know when he leaves for work what he will be doing. He tells her then he'll quit his job, and find a new one. She asks him what will he do, he tells her he has money saved up, plus he has a friend who works in security he could get a job with. She tells him he wouldn't be happy just sitting around doing nothing. He tells her he hates his job, he wants out, he wants her, he wants them to be together. She tells him she loves him and he tells her he loves her. Sometime later, Troy takes Kali to his work place she thinks he's getting an award for employee of the month. When she steps off the elevator her mother greets her, then Troy's sister Courtney. She asks what everyone is doing there, when she turns Troy is on one knee. Troy tells her he's not getting an award, he wanted everyone they love to witness him asking her to marry him. She tells him yes, she'll marry him.

The Hitman and the Crown is another book in the Men of Ruthless Corporation and is penned by Jade Bay. Readers are introduced to two dynamic lead characters--Kali Andres-Leota and Troy Davidson. Readers watch as they face their inner demons and evolve. This is a tale of second chances. Kali is a princess from an island nation who tries to build a new life for her in America after her father’s murder. Troy is a childhood friend and a hitman. When he gets a new contract to take out the current King of that island nation, Destiny brings Kali back into his life. Will Troy and Kali find happiness? What becomes of Troy’s contract? You must read this book to see what unfolds.
I enjoyed Ms. Bay’s writing style. I like how she developed her characters. She does a remarkable job as she developed this hitman romance. I like the chemistry between the two lead characters. She expertly uses dialog, point of view, and descriptive language all move her plot along.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
The hitman and the crown is a novella in the ‘’men of ruthless corp’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Kali and Troy grew up together before they lost contact. Years later and they reconnect through a shared interest. When all is said and done, will they find love?
The chemistry between Kali and Troy is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Kaly and Troy
This read was great and entertaining. Troy is a hitman with a job to do and the only person that can help him get close enough to do the job without arousing suspicion is Kaly, his childhood friend. Great plot with an unexpected twist I did not see coming. Highly recommend

I know this book wasn’t very long but it had a lot of holes in it. In other words a lot of important info was left out. It definitely did not have sparks that would draw you into it. There also were few typos. Sorry I really wanted to like this a lot but couldn’t.

Absolutely loved the newest book in the Men of Ruthless Corp series. Troy will stop at nothing to protect his princess, and their story was absolutely perfect. New to this author and already a fan.

A sweet, steamy, safe and romantic story with a sweet HEA and family drama left and right. Kali is a princess but severed her ties to her home country. Now she comes back with Troy her childhood friend. Twists and turns, deception, anger but love always wins👍👍

Loved It
I absolutely loved this book. This was a new author for me. This was Troy and Kali’s story. It had a few typos in it but it didn’t take away the meaning of the story. This was a short and fast paced read. Looking forward to reading more books from this author

The story was good. I would have given it 4 stars. But the first couple of chapters people's names seemed to change a few times. In one case it was the spelling of the name. In another the name completely changed. They weren't important characters so I was able to get past it.

A Must Read!

Great story!
This story was different, short, romantic, steamy with a happily ever after. Kali and Troy had known each other since they were kids and Troy's new target brought them back together.

Just....not good. Nothing was believable.
And when they had sex the first time....very soon into the story....they didn't use a condom. WTH???
There was also some inconsistency with names, etc. The author needs a proofreader.
