This book is a potpourri of characters from the author's mulitple series loosely woven together in a way that makes you want to find out more.

I was "lost" in the intersecting plot lines and kept trying to figure things out. It was only after I realized this is not a puzzle book for me to figure out but more of a "enjoy and laugh for the moment" set of scenes that I was able to relax and enjoy the characters.

Most of them are addicted to a time-travel romance "Lost" between an 18th century Scotsman named Jody and an American twentieth century nurse named Sarah. The storylines intersect loosely with a gold digger commissioning two sets of thugs who are supposed to do something to Dani the website designer and her estranged daughter. The chapters with the thugs are laugh out loud funny while the ones with the scheming gold digger and too dumb to live lord are frustrating. The rest are stories of friendship and caring about your neighbors in various ways that are heartwarming.

I did enjoy this collection of stories and viewed it as a sampler like a box of chocolates where you can't stop at eating one.

There are several plot lines to follow here. One involves a woman in Alaska. For some reason a woman in England wants her dead. Throw in a police officer who just so happens to save this woman from attack by someone his friend is trying to arrest. Another plot line is the woman's daughter who is a nurse with an unknown back story. Then there is the historical romance most of the characters, even minor ones, are reading, that they have memorized and can't live without. There are hints that the book is not based on real people, but instead is their actual story. The problem is, that by 50% read, none of these plot lines come together. Ultimately, this story is as confusing as it is boring. Cannot recommend.

I started reading last night and had to force myself to put it down so I could go to bed because I was that invested in the story. The pace is very good as it moves quickly and even though you are moving between settings it is a smooth transition. Many times when authors have story lines for may different characters it gets complicated and difficult to follow. This doesn’t happen here. It is very easy to keep track of who is where and how they are related. It is well written and I am definitely invested and hooked on the characters and would want to see what happens to them next.

When a letter is stolen it sets off a chain of events that affect a wide variety of characters in this page-turning suspense novel.
Time travel blends with a present-day mystery to create an interesting prequel to a fascinating new series.
Fun read!
