Miriam Minger says: It's been a wonderful experience to have all my novels published as eBooks, but the greatest thrill for me as a writer is when readers take the time to let me know they enjoyed my stories...

"I have read hundreds if not thousands of books in my lifetime and not once have I ever been moved to comment on one until now. This is without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read. I laughed. I cried. I remained at the edge of my seat devouring every single word you wove with this incredible story. I just wanted to let you know how deeply this story moved me and to thank you for creating it."

Wow. This one left me speechless, and thankful. I had done my job, which is to make you feel like you've dropped feet first into a world that captures your imagination and emotions so vividly you might be living and breathing the story. And that's one of the purest joys of reading, isn't it? I know it is for me, and it is my hope to continue to write books that make you live and breathe the adventure, laugh and cry, and that touch your heart.

Well-told installment in the Irish brides series

This is book 3 in the O’Byrne Brides series and I recommend you read them in order as they are related and later books refer to couples in the earlier books. No date is given but presumably this story is set in the time of the others, in the early 13th century.

It’s the story of Nora MacTorkil, the daughter of the richest merchant in Dublin, who flees a dreaded betrothal to a wild Norseman and, in the moonlight, runs along the dock and tumbles into the River Liffey. She is saved by Niall O’Byrne, who was drunk on the dock, still in misery for losing the woman he wanted. Niall is the brother of a rebel and decides to marry Nora to save her and then takes her to his family compound.

At the family’s home, we get to meet other characters, whom you would know if you have read the earlier books in the series. They make cameo appearances here. Knowing the Norse will likely come, they prepare for battle. Nora, a sympathetic person, makes friends and finds a new home. Not much history here but Minger does paint a medieval background that reflects the different factions in Dublin of the time.

All comes right in the end for a happy ending to a well-told tale.

Nial, while on a drunken binge of heartache, rescues a fleeing bride, and ended up marrying her to keep her safe. Naturally, unintentionally he brings down the wrath of the Norseman she was betrothed to upon his entire clan. Does Nial realize he has fallen in love with Nora or is it really just a marriage of convenience to save her from the Norseman’s horrific behavior? Will Nial finally be surprised to find his own HEA? Short but sweet book, quick read but great. There is also an audiobook available by Elizabeth Klett as narrator. She does an excellent job. 😍

This was heart pounding story. It can be stand alone, but as with most series, have cross over character's. My favorites have been book 2 and this one. Not only suspenseful, but the character's came to life.

I liked the honesty the h had in telling why she was fleeing. There is sadness, but also joy. My heart ached for the h in all that transpired, especially the people she lost in such a short time.

The H was trying to get over losing a women he thought he loved until he met out h. His relationship isn't kept from the h and she handled it well. She had low self esteem issues thanks to her awful step mother. The H is caring and loyal and he does right by the h more than once.

There is passionate lovemaking within marriage, heat level 4 out of 5 and described several times. I loved this couple so it was filled with passion and love. Wasn't vulgar to me, but that is aa personal preference.

Nasty villain, very suspenseful, twists, great main and secondary character's, no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and steam. I can't improve on the blurb, so not attempting. Just giving some of the things I found interesting, I hope. (ljb)

Beautifully done. My favorite O’Byrne has found a wife in the most unusual way. Niall has been burying in his sorrows in drink for awhile. Nora is running away from marriage to a monster. An accidental meeting bring these two together. Once again the author has scripted a magnificent story. It is filled with passion and action that will leave you eager to turn the pages. You will immerse yourself in all the action as it unfolds to a glorious ending.

I loved Niall ever since I read Wild Angel. I think he does deserve a bride like Nora, sweet and warm-hearted, even if she's not a stunning beauty like her sisters in law. Yet, Niall deserved a better told love story. How could he forget such love as Caitlin's in few days? There could have been more intrigue between both girls fighting for his love. Too much of Triona and Ronan in this story, it clouds on Niall and Nora's story. Sweet, funny and mischievous Niall deserved better!

Brute vs Brawn

Nora MacTorkil, forced I to a marriage to an evil brute, runs I to the night hoping to escape the wedding. I'm the two years since her mother's death then her twin sisters death, Nora has tried to reason with her father and step mother. Her step mother want a the union and bashers her father to agree.

Sigurd Skullcrusher, evil, brute, and ugly. He wants the fear from Nora, the gold from her father, and the game from his battles. He is selfish, mean, and uncaring.

Naill O'Bryne, broken-hearted, is trying to stay drunk to avoid the pain of certain from Caitlain his former betrothed. Good, kind, strong, and trustworthy.

The night Nora escapes she trips over Naill only to fall in the river. Naill goes in after her and rescues her. She tells him her issues and he promptly married her. They flew into the night for his home.

This wild take has a few twists that will make you want to keep reading until the end. I enjoyed the characters, plot, and emotional ride with Nora and Naill. This stand alone can be read with the series or not. You will find yourself enthralled and fascinated with this wonderful book.

I found this book as a free read and thought I'd give it a try. I have a thing for historical fiction, especially ones with medieval-ish themes. This was a short read, but I really really enjoyed it so much that I went ahead and read the rest of the series.

Niall was such a loveable character with his broken heart, desire to do good, and fierce protectiveness of the woman he wed, that I could not get enough of him. Nora was a surprising character who was forced into a world she didn't know or understand based on sheer will and survival instincts. I enjoyed her character because she was clearly brave to leave her world behind; not many women would have done as much. Had she not stumbled upon--literally--Niall when she did, she would have had an entirely different life. Sometimes chance meetings are just the thing we all need. Great read! I recommend the entire series. And, I've discovered Miriam Minger as an author I thoroughly enjoy.

A bit intense for this tree hugging peace loving lady but I loved Nora and her rescuer Niall who saves her from drowning when she jumps from a castle window and runs to the river to see if she could run away on a ship in harbor to avoid marrying a beast of a Norseman who has already killed 4 wives. She trips over something and ends up coming close to drowning in the river in Dublin. She had tripped over a man who was very drunk after his betrothed ran off with another man. Yeah-- complicated. Gets even more so. The violence was a bit much for me but the story had a lot of action and plot and I got my happily ever after ending so I am a happy reader!

Desperate to avoid marrying a particularly brutal Norseman, Nora climbs out her window to escape. When she accidentally falls into the river, she is saved by Niall. Nursing a broken heart, Niall finds himself marrying the woman he fishes out the river. But the Norseman will not let go so easily.

I enjoyed this book. There was some headhopping. Also, near the beginning there was a bit too much information about the different people living in the area, and it wasn’t as clear as it could have been. Nora did behave somewhat stupidly at one point which was a little irritating.

However, overall, it was an enjoyable read.

exciting, romantic good ending. The book moves quickly, as Nora runs away to avoid being married to a very cruel man. She almost drowns and is rescued by Niall, who is nursing a heartbreak when the woman he thought he was in love with, becomes betrothed to another. The cruel Sigvurd finds out that Nora is alive and sets out with hundreds of men to reclaim her. He first kills the 2 priests and burns down the church. Niall's brother, Ronan, calls up some allies and prepare to defend heir home, even though outnumbered

Short and Suspenseful Read

There is a lot of action, suspense, and romance packed into this book, along with two courageous main characters. The relationship between Nora and Niall progressed quickly, but their love for each other developed naturally. After all, Niall was a protector at heart, thinking his chance for true love was forever gone, and as for Nora, who wouldn't love a man who saved her from certain danger?

This was a fun read. I always like Niell and was glad he found his true love. Having the bad guy called "Skullcrusher" was a nice touch.

In these Highland romances, it always amazes me that these clans are willing to go to war over a woman. But then, these Highland romances wouldn't be nearly as exciting if they didn't.

Third in the series. The story of a young girl whose father is forcing her to marry so he can make more money and have power. She runs away and almost dies. She married the man who saved her and started a war. A short book.

3.5 stars. Read as part of the Legendary Lovers anthology. A short but enjoyable read. The characters were lovely, the ones that weren't Sigurd Skullcrusher anyway. I liked how there wasn't a BIG misunderstanding between Niall and Nora at the end.

An OK read, like the others. I would give it more stars but I'm really bothered by the instalove! Going from drunkenly pining for a lost love to being crazy in love with your new wife in a week, nope, not acceptable for me.

Good to finally read Naill story. He saved Nora from drowning and married her to safe her from a ruthless man she was to marry. It was good to see him get his Hea. Also a chance to catch up with the rest of his family.

Irish-Norman-Norseman historical romance

An unusual meeting of the hero and heroine, a shift of heart, a shift of world views and more. You know its going to be a wild ride when the villain is named Skullcrusher.

It would have been much better as a full length novel because trying to fully flesh out the relationship and the subplot was definitely not accomplished. I liked the characters fine but the insta-love was a turnoff for me.

An entertaining read

This is an entertaining read with strong characters and an action-packed plot. Though part of a series, the book works well as a stand alone novel. Recommended for fans of the genre and the series.

Engaging

Niall O'Byrne seeks solace in drink outside Dublin when a maiden trips over him and falls in the river. His honor and effectiveness takes over which is good for Nora too. Family loyalties are shown in response to the Viking villain.

Our heroine escapes from a horrible arrangement, marries the man who helped her, and they had lots of sex, until the awful guy she was to marry, shows up to steal her back. A lot happens very fast in this book.
