Regulus Black, the youngest of the two Black brothers, raised to believe in blood-supremacy and follow their parents without question. When Sirius Black is sorted to Gryffindor, all of the pressure is now weighing down on his very small shoulders. Follow Regulus through the first four years of his journey at Hogwarts - making friends, finding love, and making his fair share of enemies as well, all while trying to uphold the Black family legacy and ignoring the doubts that he has about the Dark Lord. This is the story of Regulus Arcturus Black.
as a person who’s all time favourite and comfort character is regulus black, reading a 1.5m word fan-fiction with the right characterisation and depressing chapters I ate up till the plate was licked clean, this is definitely my second favourite fanfic of all time <3 I want to thank THIS version of reggie and this amazing talented author for saving my life :’) cant wait for updates !!
I love it soo much, and The Story of Regulus Black is heartbreaking!
Would recommend this to anyone who loves the Marauders era or any Regulus kinnies. I love reading from Reggies perspective and I honestly think Sirius is a bit annoying in this fic (I still love you though)!
I have convinced myself that I am in love with Reggie and Benji. Haha.
(I’m on the second volume which is just as sad if not sadder)
I don’t even care that this was a Harry Potter fanfiction. It was 620,000 words and that counts as reading. And oh my god was it a good 620,000 word fic. Idk why i havent counted ATYD which ive slowly chipped away at (144/188 chapters read) which is only like 550,000. It was so good I loved it. Plus the second one already has 870,000 words and the chapters arent all out yet so i will be counting that too. I’m not always keen on how people characterise the marauders era characters but this was so good Regulus was written so well but oh my god Sirius is so annoying. Such a good book.
absolutely loved it. Regulus has always been my favourite hp character, and this??? THIS IS AMAZING. there’s no book that compares to it, and now I know nothing but pain. The amount of times I cried (sobbed) are uncountable. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Regulus is everything for me he deserves the world😭. Every single Sirius part had me on a chokehold AND THE MARAUDERS. every time they appeared I was dying they’re the cutest on this book. THE PRANK? HELLO? I was freaking out. like crying crying. AND FRAN AND DEACON 😭 I LOVE THEM. and when I entered year 4… everything went downhill ngl🤪. SIRIUS’S LEAVING?!!! THE WAY IT WAS WRITTEN. HONESTLY HAD ME WANTING TO DIE IN A GOOD WAY. also I kinda relate to reggie a little more than it would be healthy
This book had me in a chokehold for a little over a week. I just couln´t seem to put it down. I know one might read statements like this in reviews quite often, but I seriously mean it. Never, ever in my life did I come across a book such as this one. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. And when I say this, I mean it. I felt sorrow, laughed at stupid jokes or lines and I sobbed. Yes, I quite literally spend the last few day and nights sobbing over a mere fictional story, that seemed to coax me in in the strangest and most unhealthy way possible. I neglected myself and my health, because I just couldn't control the things this story did to me.
I don´t want to spoil even the slightest bit of this book to anyone possibly reading my review, as I'm sure one can only understand my words, after living through these same emotions.
I am speechless.
And I would recommend this story to anyone, anytime. Even though I'd like to give a quick warning that the topics discussed in this book are not to be taken lightly. They will weight down on you, whether you can relate to them or not.
I am the type of reader that imagines themselves right beside the main character and therefore I felt like I was going through the same things Regulus did. Beware.
It took me almost exactly 60 hours to complete this book. 60 hours - and I do not regret spending one mere second of them. Go and read this book.
god DAMN i loved this fic!! i read years 1-4 in the span of like 2 days, i just couldn't put it down. the material is very heavy, but very good and relatable. i cannot wait to hear more from this author!!
