This is, in my opinion, the best book on candlestick charts out there. Concise and applicable. The performance table for each chart pattern is invaluable and makes the documented candlestick patterns actually tradable. What many authors forget is that the ultimate goal of technical analysis is to apply it to trade setups and exits. But often authors get carried away in philosophical ramblings without tangible proof as to the effectiveness of the price patterns described in their musings about candlesticks. Not so Morris with this work. 5 Stars!

The edition I picked up was the second (I think the most current is the 4th?) so there was some out of date information, but the core concepts still hold true.

I continually use this book to help me identify and better understand candlesticks. Though Ryan's part of this is fair small compared to Gregory's, I love Ryan's anecdotal way of conveying how to use candlesticks. They are a part of human behavior that dictates how candlesticks originated.

In Eastern language, the characters were pictoral depictions of things. Similarly, candlesticks are meaningless without understanding their location and the signicance of that.

Some of the book is rather dry with lots and lots of statistics and could make ones' eyes go crossed, but this book used in conjunction with Ryan's "Trading By Candlelight" DVD set is really invaluable.

The book is well-written and at the point of my reading this from Gregory's book prior to this, my understanding of candlesticks has been pronouncely significant.

I've now come to memorize some of the statistics and it helps me in my own trading.

This is a great reference book.
