Hey, I’m Amy, I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life. And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World. If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one. If you want to reach out to me—and I love to hear from readers—you can email me at amyboylesauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
This book had me fairly bored through half of it. I think I’m just irritated about Rufus. I understand why Clem is angry with him. I also get how he feels, but he presented his problem all wrong. Ugh. What’s he expect? For them to stay at the same point they’re in in their relationship forever? No! They should be going to the next step - naughty stuff. I’m irritated for Clem.
However, someone has been waiting to meet Clem for a few weeks now against her wants and suddenly, that person has found Clem. Bye bye, Clem. Guess the next book will explain what happened to her. Book 8 “Witch It or List It”. Last book in this series. Hopefully Clem and Rufus finally get together and do It.
I just discovered book 8 isn’t out until next month (11/07/2021), so I just started “The Butterfly Garden” by Dot Hutchison. Nevermind, after reading numerous reviews about The Butterfly Garden, I must say I’m not going to read it. Seems to dark for what I’m in the mood for. I am going for something lighter like Clementine Cooke’s series. :-) I’ll read a romance (minus magic and magical beings). So, “The Cowboy’s Best Friend” by Jessie Gussman is my choice. Review on that in a couple days (or maybe one day).
Malene is always up to something and it usually has to do with besting someone and dragging everyone into her schemes. Generally, they are innocent. This time, not so much, albeit unwittingly. Where does this put Clem? Right smack in the middle of things where she definitely doesn't want to be. Additionally, Sykes Lafoon is making unwanted offers for his "boss" and as much as Clem rebuffs him he is tenacious as is his "boss". Add the fact that their is trouble in paradise and a murder crops up as well as a cursed object and you have the makings of one heck of a problem. This book was good but, it ends in a huge cliffhanger ( I'm not really a fan of that). Now, I am stuck until early November waiting to find out what happens. I recommend this book and series highly BUT, if you do not like cliffhangers wait until the next book is available to read.
This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. If findcast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Clementine is a witch in a small town. The town is inhabited by humans and a few supernaturals. Clementine runs a home renovation business where she goes out and restores old homes and converts barns etc. to homes. She lives across the street from her grandmother and her grandfather. She tends to always end up in the middle of crime investigation going on around the town. Sometimes they are super natural based and other times just crime-based. With the help of her friends such as her boyfriend Rufus her grandmother and her friends she will always figure out who did it. Read on and be entertained.
This was an interesting take on Rufus’s transformation from bad boy to whatever he is now… Of course, that’s one of the subplots, and the other one involves a mystical gnome, whose prophecies end up coming true. I have to admit that I’ve never heard of a gnome competition before and I’m absolutely certain that I wouldn’t care for it because I think gnomes are kind of creepy. So many people think they’re adorable but I’m not one of those people. Anyway, I enjoyed the plot of this one as usual, and seeing Maylene up to her old tricks. This book sort of ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m jumping right into the next one.
The mystery was great but confused about the relationship storyline. Since when did adults say "I love you" many, many times yet have so little commitment to each other? I think love grows in various ways but you don't reject them because that's selfish and NOT love. That storyline made no sense based on the previous books. I was very disappointed in Rufus and now see him differently so I doubt I'll read anything else in this series. I would skip this book.
Best one of this series but lady the dachshund is best character
My favorite of her series good characters plot and humor. And they comments Lady the mini long dachshund comes up with crack me up . owning standard wire hair dachshunds Corn is lucky she has mini long she be lots of trouble if she had talking wire lol. Rufus character he started in another series as a bad guy but he grown. developed so much it Been fun watching him grow and develop.
In this book by Amy Boyles, Malene gets Clementine in trouble and she has to follow the judges of a gnome contest. When they get to Gilbert's house a fight breaks out between him and two of the judges. He later is killed and Clementine finds him. She goes off on Sluggs and ends up in danger. There is trouble in paradise. I loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of the series.
I absolutely could not put this book down. I loved the mystery and finding the killer. I was not ready for what happened in the rest of the book especially the end! I don't do spoilers but I will say it is definitely worth the read and now to wait for the next book in this series!
Very good. A cursed Mystic Gnome shows up on the property Clementine is renovating and starts giving out people's fortunes. A Golden Gnome contest is held and the winner for the last five years is both an ugly winner and ugly loser when Clementine wins. Clem and Rufus break up and Sykes Lafoon's boss wants Clementine to work for him and his magical mafia.
Mudroom Mystic (Renovation Mysteries book 7 by Amy Boyles
This was another winner. I highly recommend all her books and different series. She writes a great mystery and has great cast of characters in every series. I have read 3 different series and they are all great. Diana Romano
This is another great book in the Magical Renovation series by Amy Boyles. Gnomes and more gnomes. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens with Rufus and the mystery man.
Now, I am a lover of gnomes...but garden gnomes kinda still freak me out. To have a competition with them? That's just a little over the top! I love all the characters in Clem's life. Rufus is truly breaking my heart! I wholeheartedly hope he heals soon.
A mystic gnome appears in Clem's yard after her grandma entered her into a contest. She's accused of bad things, the accuser is murdered and then they try to banish the gnome. Fortunately Clem finds the murderer before its too late.
clementine is involved in murder again but without Rufus
Clementine told Rufus she loved him and he walked out. She is in middle of murder involving the Chief of Police. But everything’s a mess so her father steps in to help. Rufus returns to help to late.
This was another great mystery by Amy Boyles! I usually can guess the bad guys and solve a mystery by the 5th page, but not with this series.I recommend the series to anyone who enjoys it good mystery,a talking dog and solving crime.
This is a well written and developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
