I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.
I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!

Warrior alpha aliens whose lives are spent keeping the peace but for some it is in the front lines fighting an enemy who destroys worlds. Earth doesn’t know aliens exist except for the government. A deal was made, and women are given in exchange for protection. This fun tale sees women and warriors come together on a space station that is supposed to be a fantasy place. Except it may be stuck in a time that was relevant years ago. It takes its name from the TV series The Love Boat. There is much laughter and action to keep you occupied whilst enjoying this read. Journey along as they learn to navigate forging ahead to a union together and fighting the bad guys. I look forward to reading the rest of this sci fi romance series.
Tana Stone's Drexians are wonderful alien warrior heroes, and it's been a great series so far, but... There comes a time in every series where it seems like the author has hit the inspirational wall. Craved, the latest in the series, has that exhausted feel. Varden, the captain of the "Boat," is a silver fox whose holodeck interludes with human female True have been sweetly steamy and relatively chaste beach encounters. She doesn't know he's not part of the simulation, which is why our very young, innocent, and religiously-repressed heroine has felt safe with him. The evil Kronock attack, the captain's cover is blown, and the whole "I can't trust you/I'm a frightened virgin" vs. the "I'm too old for a mate/I've screwed up my chances by deceiving her" conflict plays out against a backdrop of shipwreck/jungle planet/Kronock hunters and Drexian rescuers... It isn't bad, but it feels old, tired, insipid, and I wish the author had just taken a break to let the creative enthusiasm rebound and shine through. I am voluntarily leaving this ARC review, ad hoping for better next time.
Wow, True was so scared of men. It was really sad, the way she was raised. Even True lost her virginity before me...even True, rip. An exciting end with Cerise (love her) and True being abducted by those aliens and in danger of being sold to the slave trade. This took me a while to read because I put it down. I think I had read too many books of these series all at once, and wanted a change in plots and genre. After I finished this, I wanted books for those new brides who got lost on Reina and Serge's ship. Will we ever find out what happened to them??
A smooth buildup to an exciting tale! I got swept away, hooked, obsessed and addicted to True and Vardan's story. The story builds in heat and action, depth and emotionalism, but I kept coming back for the sincere realness of the two-pronged self-doubt and insecurities that were woven throughout. We finally got a story where the dude is not overly cocky and sure of his absolute domination of a supposedly weak human woman. True showed real growth emotionally, and when she finally breaks free from her twisted upbringing, she does it whole-heartedly. It's actually a little inspiring. I love this series, but this has got to be my favorite installment so far!
I am really enjoying this series and hope there will be a lot more. I like that as well as the main couple there are appearances by previous characters. Altogether a well written, enjoyable and funny series with great female characters and their fabulous mates.
Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors is based on the large muscled humanoid aliens with tan skin who’ve spent their lives battling the enemy aliens called the Kronock. There had been a secret treaty with Earth for the past 30 years where the Drexians have been granted permission to abduct human females in exchange for protection against the Kronock. The only conditions are that the females be unattached (with no one to shed light on their disappearance) and that the Drexians keep the secrecy of alien existence. The tribute brides are taken to a space station behind Saturn called “The Loveboat” where they are mated (married) to their Drexian warriors. The war with the Kronock is still ongoing.
Written in third person perspective, Craved is book 7 in this series, and follows Drexian Captain Varden and his human mate Truth. This is easily my favorite book in the series, so far. Truth is one of the reject brides who live in the working quarters because she rejected her matched warrior. She is a virgin who is scared to death of the big aliens. Varden is a the captain of the boat. He happens across Truth when she used Ella’s code in a simulation booth to walk along the ocean beach. His curiosity put him in her simulator, and Truth assumed that the captain was a holographic simulation. She kissed him, thus beginning his infatuation where he returned to her simulations regularly, not revealing the truth of his existence. Until the boat is attacked by the Kronock and she is forced to flee with the captain. He is twice her age, and no longer on the list to receive a tribute. She is timid and naive.
Admittedly, the dialogue “tell me your mine, and only mine,” and “this pussy belongs to only me,” made me hotter than anything else Tana has written. I guess I’m all about that dominating possessive caveman behavior. Too bad the Drexians have a bad habit of not letting their actions back up their words in public due to honor.
Like all the other books, this couple have their ups and downs, back and forths. She fights the claiming, then he fights the claiming. She fights her feelings and he is a typical male idiot that makes poor decisions. One forgives the other way too easily, then things work out in their favor and they live happily ever after. I related to this coupling more than most. My first husband was 16 years older than me and the second was 14, so a young female with a dominant older male was right up my alley. I just wish that Truth was more experience and less timid, and Varden was more mature and confident. Other than that, I loved their story.
I might need therapy, but that’s what books are for, right? Lol
I will continue the series since I do enjoy Tana Stone’s writing. Thankfully, the books aren’t painfully long. Although, I find it takes too long for the sexual encounters to take place and I find myself getting bored with the story at times. It might be better if the books were shorter.
Varden is the captain of the “Love Boat” space station. While he would love to have a bride, he feels that his time has passed. He was busy working his way up through the ranks, when he was young, and now that he has arrived, he’s much older than all the other Drexian warriors so he feels that no bride would him when they could have someone half his age. He takes his name off the list for a tribute bride. That is until he meets True. She is one of the brides that rejected a mate and now lives with the other rejects, or “independents” as they like to be called.
True has led a very sheltered, conservative life back on earth. She’s a virgin with absolutely no experience with men, let alone big hunky aliens. The stories she hears from the other women do nothing to assuage her fear. But she does have a holodeck experience that she likes to visit from time to time. Especially since there’s a hunky Drexian that is part of the simulation. Knowing that he’s not real makes it easier for True to interact with him. But the thing is . . . He’s not part of the simulation.
I LOVED this book. Sure, there were a few times where I felt that True was drifting perilously close to TSTL territory, but thankfully she never really crossed the border. And I think Captain Varden may be my favorite Drexian. But it would be a hard decision because I love Dakar so much. It was a lot of fun seeing them deal with the situation that they kinda know each other from the holodeck, but not really. At least on True’s part. Varden knows that he wants her. Desperately. But he’s plagued with indecision and fear that she doesn’t want him because of his age. It’s just a really yummy, romantic story and I was left with so many satisfied feelings at the end of it. The only thing that would make it perfect is if Cerise got a HEA too. We met Cerise in the last book, Bound, when Vox and Shreya were on the pleasure planet and Cerise helped them escape. She has turned into quite a wonderful secondary character, and I like her a hell of a lot.
I definitely recommend this series. But read them in order. Sure there’s enough “catchup” verbiage that you won’t be totally lost in each of the books, but you won’t feel the same emotional connection between all these characters, and they appear in all the books.
AVERAGE ALIEN QUICKIE READ. THIS WAS PRETTY INSTA-LOVE AND IF YOU'RE AN AVID READER OF STORIES LIKE THIS OR A TANA STONE FAN, THEN YOU'LL ALREADY KNOW THE FLOW OF THIS.
VARDEN is the type of male that I usually love to read about. There's nothing sexier than a commanding male with power - a brooding one at that. Much older than our heroine, he's the Captain of the spaceship they are in, and when curiosity got the best of him, he entered True's holographic room to see the Mexican Gulf only for her to mistake him for a holographic male. He's not sorry she kissed him, or took advantage. It took one hit and he's hooked on her. When their ship is attacked by the Kronocs, the four of them became stranded on jungle planet, waiting for rescue to come. Varden assumed too much. He could have gotten the girl but he kept hiding behind his own reasons for WHY HE SHOULDN'T BE WITH HER. It's the only thing other than True's own reasons that cockblocks their relationship from advancing.
TRUE isn't the type of heroine I'd go for. Her behaviour shows her age - totally immature and a 10% hint for the dramatics. I couldn't appreciate her hysterics of over reacting towards certain things Varden did, and how she couldn't cope with the fact that the male she's been crushing and wanting to sex up on, is a real blooded male. True's a hypocrite. She wants to fuck, but being brought up in a religious family that says girls who think about fucking are whores...well that certainly fucks a girl up. This is why I dutifully avoid people like her. Poor gal.
OVERALL this was all very touch and go for me. I just skimmed through it, only dropping at Varden and True's scenes. Even then, they weren't very stimulating. Like I said, this is one for days when you're too busy to enjoy anything that taxes your brain.
True was a tribute bride but rejected her groom and moved to the independent section of the boat as the space station was called. Her best friend Ella who was also once an independent until she met her mate wrote her a holographic program for the Gulf of Mexico but Captain Varden accidentally entered the holographic room and True thought Ella had written the silver fox into the program to help her get over her fear of Drexian warriors.
The boat is under attack from the Kronocks and everyone is evacuated from the ship, but True is still in the holodeck and Captain Varden has to rescue her and she and Cerise another alien female along with the first mate leave the boat in an escape shuttle, but they crash land on a planet that has tiny aliens who live in the trees and the ground is mostly swamp.
It is here that True realises that her feelings for Varden are real and she finally tells him of her feelings and they make love in a warm waterfall. They sneak off to make love often, but don’t live openly as a couple. They are rescued from the planet after being almost found by the Kronock. But the shuttle that True is on is attacked before reaching the rendezvous planet and taken by slavers. Varden is adamant about being on the ship that goes to rescue her.
When they find True and Cerise, Varden can no longer deny his feelings for True and she is the same. They are given permission to be mates and start their lives together. True discovers she is pregnant. But she can’t be fully happy until the two tribute brides who are missing can be found.
I can’t wait to read book nine when it comes out. This series really pulls you in and leaves you wanting more.

I loved Varden and True’s alien-human, fated mates, age gap, virgin romance. This was a great story with a sweet sheltered human and an alpha sexy guy who is kind and considerate. The Drexians have been protecting Earth for decades from the evil Kronock race. In exchange, Earth governments provide tribute brides to the Drexians. True is a human who was taken as a tribute bride two years ago. She had a strict upbringing and was taught men only want one thing. As a result, she was afraid of sex and rejected her Drexian match. She now lives with the “reject” brides in one part of the space station. Varden is the Captain of the Boat that is home to the tribute brides and their mates. He accidentally wandered into True’s hologram program of the Gulf of Mexico and she assumed he was a hologram. He continued to visit her when she used the holodeck program. The subterfuge is discovered when the Boat is evacuated and Varden rescues True. To get to their HEA, they’ll have to deal with True’s fear of intimacy and learn to trust each other while trying to survive having crash landed in a primitive alien planet. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline with sweet moments, steam, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, fated mates, coincidences, plot twists, painful pasts, missteps, and laughs.
Okay I absolutely love Varden the silver fox. He's an older Drexian male who put his career first and truly thought his chance for a bride was well past. He comes upon True an independent who didn't want to be a bride and he's curious. He uses his captain 's override and follows True into her holodeck. At first he doesn't know what to think but then he talks with her and the more they talk the more he really likes her. They o my problem is True believes he's a hologram and not real. True is young, from the American deep South and was brought up in a strict religious family. She's been told since she was a young child that sex is bad you only do it to make babies your not supposed to enjoy it and if you do your nothing but a whore. She been afraid her whole life to experiment. The reason the Drexians were able to take her was because her family kicked her out of the house because they believed she missed a boy. Now drop in Cerise Perogling the quirky little alien that was rescued from the pleasure planet in the last book and laughter and fun are on the menu. Cerise shows True sex isn't evil and that she should take a chance on Varden. Misunderstandings and adventure abound with a healthy dose of passion and love. One of my favorites in the series. 💖
True was in a southern US ultra-religious family and is very gorgeous but has an incomplete knowledge of sex and relationship and so rejected the idea of being a Drexian tribute bride. Whilst in a holodeck simulation she meets station commander Varden who she is convinced is a hologram. Being bold and knowing he is not real she builds a friendship/relationship with him and even goes as far as kissing him. Captain Varden never meant to lie to True and just couldn't correct her after she kissed him, Convinced that he is too old for someone as young as her he resolves not to correct that impression. When the Kronock attack they are forced to abandon the space station and True comes face-to-face with her hologram on the escape transport, then before she can be really outraged they are stranded on a jungle planet. Between staying alive and evading the enemy can she forgive him for deceiving her? Can he accept that she could fall for someone much older than her?
I enjoyed this story and the joy of their love affair that started in a very unusual manner and then after they got over their differences developed into something wonderful. I enjoyed the different aliens encountered in this book and the way that Cerise took a more involved role with the aliens they encountered on the jungle world. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.
I highly recommend reading these books in order, even though most are considered "stand alone" stories. The preview of this story at the end of Bound made me very interested in seeing how this story would go. True is scared to interact with men until she meets her dream older man, who she thinks is a hologram in her earth beach illusion. He's very gentle and doesn't push her to do anything she doesn't initiate. Turns out that he is the captain of the space station and he uses his captain's bypass code to see her. I was hoping his slow, gentle and caring nature would continue through their romance but as soon as things "get more serious" all his moves are the same as the other Drexian warriors. I hoped for more character development. Where is he from? What is supposed to make him special and unique? Why mention that he does martial arts and that's a turn on for her if she never gets to witness a demonstration? He's been a bachelor for a long time but has no hobbies? There are no indications that she loves something in particular that his age or status makes him the best suited to be her mate and I think there was a missed opportunity there.
Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes and violence.
This PNR is about a human female that has been sheltered and brainwashed by her parents, and her tall, dark and handsome Drexian warrior, the alien race that is protecting earth from the bad aliens, the Kronock. It has sexy talk, scenes of violence (kidnapping, assault, death), and lots of adult scenes. If these types of scenes are not something of interest, then please do not purchase and then rate it lower than it deserves.
While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers. Plus the story universe and characters wouldn’t be as developed.
Here is a high level overview of how the story begins:
True has been told her entire life that any interactions with a male was to be feared, so she is really having problems being around any of the Drexian warriors. They are very large and terrifying, so after she was kidnapped from earth, she decided to be a reject Tribute bride, and live as an independent.
Still irritated that everyone is so accepting of abducting human women. Varden thought the women should consider it a gift to be kidnapped and to be assigned a mate not of their choosing or get a job - never to return home.
How Varden met True was a little creepy. He used override commands and snuck into her holodeck bcuz he was curious. What if she was in there screwing someone or something else private? Then he stalked her holodeck times and pretended to be a hologram. Little weird.
That being said, he grew on me. He was very patient and gentle with True. He knew she was innocent so he let her set the pace.
True on the other hand started to irritate me. She was sometimes childish and self absorbed. How dare she yell and get angry when Varden risked his life to save Kos. Kos was his 2nd in command. Kos risked his own life twice. Once to wait for her and her companions with a ship while the boat was being attacked. 2nd when he threw her and Cerise from the sinking ship. This was a man Varden was close to. How dare she.. shame shame.
Overall story was good. It's getting a little repetitive but will keep on with series

This novel was cleanly written and edited, with few if any typos or wrong word choices. It had competent world building, with the jungle planet our protagonists were marooned on coming to vivid life. This novel had competent characterization, with this reader getting a good feel for the personality of both the hero and heroine of this novel. I enjoyed the adventure and action elements of this novel, with this story having medium angst (internal conflict) and high stakes (external conflict). The misunderstanding between the hero and heroine when they refused to honestly communicate their feelings for each other was irritating but thankfully did not go on too long before the heroine was placed in danger with being kidnapped by the slavers and that incident acting as the catalyst for both hero and heroine to be honest with each other about their love and desire to be married. Recommended for readers who enjoy alien sci-fi space opera romances.

When True first met Varden she thought he was part of the holodeck's scene and he never told her he was the Drexian Captain. However when they were forced evacuate the Boat, she learned the truth. She had liked the man she met on the holodeck, but the Captain was too much male for her to accept. They were among the last to evacuate and when the ship they were travelling on was forced to crash landed, there she realized that she loved him as much as he loved her. This was a story of discovery for True, an innocent young woman raised by strict religious parents, she found living with aliens frightening. Having fallen in love with one, it had opened her eyes to a lot of things that her parents told her were false and it was interesting to read about the changes in her personality as the book progress. An entertaining read with good descriptions of an alien planet and it's people. I received a free copy of this book and have voluntarily giving an honest review!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this amazing alien warrior romance. It has an interesting, well-paced plot filled with suspenseful situations. The well-developed characters are quite complex individuals & display realistic emotional feelings & are inclined to be devious at times. There is: a independent but virginal young woman (True) is quite attracted to a hologram of a silver-fox alien warrior (Varden) & later discovers to her dismay that he is actually quite real, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, Drexian warrior aliens, evil reptilian aliens (Kronock), slavers, tribute brides, action, adventure, abduction, humans, friendship, danger, threats, enemies, attacks, violence, conflict, devious plans, escape, deceit, betrayal, memories, discovery, doubts, emotional turmoil, advice, determination, declaration, love, contentment, some steamy scenes & a interesting epilogue. I look forward to the next book with great anticipation & would recommend this book.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Once I started I could not get enough from start to finish with twist and turns and adrenaline rush and excitement that was just the start. True was a tribute bride and rejected her Drexian warrior groom, she was moved to the independent section of the spaceship, when her best friend Ella married her Drexian mate Ella was moved so they started to communicate through a holographic Captain Varden was curious about the holographic so he talked to True who thinks he is holographic and her best friend Ella sent it. They are getting attacked by the Kronocks, the escape shuttle they ended up crashing and that is the start of friendships getting closer between True and Captain Varden where no one knows of their relationship. Thank you for you allowing me to review your book.

It’s hard not to feel for a guy who’s so sure he should be On the Shelf, that he puts himself on it - especially when he’s a well-respected captain of a whole multi-stories spaceship cum city, known as The Boat.
So it’s especially awesome that he develops a wee obsession with joining True’s holographic escape sessions. Too bad he never got the guts to tell True the truth before all heck breaks loose!
Poor True I has gone from one trauma to another: religious trauma, excommunication by her whole family, abduction to The Boat, learning to live around big hunky aliens, The Boat is attacked, etc., etc., etc. She’s really gone through it. At some point, she has to grab the bill by its horns - and boy does she ever!
I love a good mistaken identity trope. Add in a generous helping of an über inexperienced girl and a dashing silver fox and you’ve got a recipe for excitement! Four stars
What can I say but this is another AWESOME BOOK by Tana Stone!!! Each time I read one of her books I think they can't get any better, but I was wrong!!! This is another awesome book! These characters True and Captain Vadan you can't help but make you love them and feel like your there with them watching their story. Their story is truly beautiful, fascinating and a well written romance. The interaction between these two was heart warming and the chemistry was off the charts. There's plenty of action, danger, suspense, adventure, hot steamy romance and a hot alpha male. If you love Hot Alpha Aliens, the Spunky Woman they Love and a Hot Steamy Romance than this is a must read for you! I'm amazed by this author and can't wait to read more!!!

I love this series! This story about Captain Varden of the boat and True was a delight to read. Cerise, a Perogling, brought comic relief while the romance between Varden and True was a gradually progression to steamy in this story and along with the action of trying to survive after the boat was attacked made their journey a page turner. True and Varden had personal internal struggles: True was told by her parents that romantic encounters were only a duty so she chosen not to mate with a Drexian and Varden who is a older Drexian gave up of ever having a mate and children. So does Varden go to the counsel asking for True to be his mate? Also Kos, Varden's first officer was a well written character in this story so that I look forward to his story which is next. I volunteer to read and review this ARC via booksprout and the author. ARC
I’ve loved this whole series and this is book 7 but to me it’s book 8 of the Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors and this is True’s and Varden’s story. Captain Varden accidentally entered a holographic room where he meets True, True rejected her Drexian mate so she ended up where the other tribute brides were and that’s on a different part of the space station. True meets Varden but she thinks that he is just a hologram but Varden doesn’t tell her the truth because she’s not scared of him but when the boat is attacked by the Kronocks she is rescued by Varden and True is pretty angry with him, then their escape ship ends up on a jungle planet but I’m going to let you find out for yourself what happens next. This is another fantastic addition to this series I loved this story and I highly recommend this book.
I loved this book, could not put it down. I love this series in general and have read all the books, but this one was possibly my favourite, full of action, danger, mild suspense and a beautiful romance between an older Drexian who had given up hope of having a bride and a young, sweet, shy woman. The storyline was imaginative and thrusts you into this world where you can absorb yourself in the book. The characters were great, although as usual mixed communication between True and Varden led to confusion over their feeling feelings for each other. I was reminded of the star wars, return of the jedi film in some scenes though, but don't want to give away much more. So hoping for Hopes story, and really looking forward to it.
I loved that True finally found a man she could trust to have a relationship with after her restrictive upbringing. Captain Varden has no choice but to evacuate the Love Boat after Intel states the Kronock will attack it and Earth. True is on the holodeck when the evacuation notice goes out and the Captain goes to find her. They get on the last shop just in time; however their ship is hit and they crash land on a rain forest world. Two Drexian ships show up just in time and rescue them. The ship True and Cerise is on gets hijacked by Raith-Kan. They get rescued again by the Drexians and True and Varden make up and have their HEA.

True is a independent raised by an extremely religious family to believe sex is wrong. She refuses a Drexian mate out of fear. However when in her favorite holo suite she meets captain Varden and believes him a hologram allowing her to be more free. The Captain knows he should tell her but her kisses and company are too wonderful. As an older Drexian he never thought to have a mate and when True finds out the truth she is mortified. When the Kronock come knocking and they are forced to abandon the boat things change. Shipwrecked on a jungle planet things get hot quick. Will they both finally admit their love and become mates? This is one of my favorite series I love the Drexians and True is wonderful as she goes from terrified to temptress.
Im addicted to this series and Tana Stone has me riveted to the end and wanting for more
I have a love hate for series lol. I love reading about the past characters and couples but I hate waiting for the next book yet I save the dates of releases. I absolutely love every couple and the world she has created. The details and unique story lines leave me guessing until the end. There is a perfect mix of hotness and thrill. I was dieing for Trues book and I literally couldn't put it down. If you are looking for amazing characters and a thrilling detailed storyline that doesn't get predictable then this is the series for you. This book was one of my favorites and definitely a keeper I will read again♡♡
