I’ve wanted to write books for adults for as long as I can remember but I was too scared to try. One day I decided to be brave and dipped a toe into the bubble bath of romantic comedy with my first novella, Cupidity, and I’ve never looked back. I often try to be funny to be funny, except for when faced with traffic wardens and border control staff. My favourite thing is making people smile.

I’ve tried many jobs over the years, from barmaid to market researcher and I even had a brief flirtation with modelling. These days I am mostly found writing.

I live near London with my grey tabby cat, Portia. We both have an unhealthy obsession with Marmite.

It keeps getting better. Going into more depths of the main characters Hope, Will and Carian. This time not only set in York but Whitby too. Two of Yorkshires beauties.

Well part two of the latest Holly Hepburn series did not disappoint. Now we've met all the characters and explored the setting we can really get into the meat of the story and we really get into the meat in this installment. There are revelations and excitement left right and centre. There's still time to catch up with part 1 and jump into the drama of part 2!

It was great to catch up with Hope again. I am so enjoying getting to know her and watching her build a fascinating life in York close to her family. She is such a romantic though and I really hope that won't turn around to bite her in the future. It was also great getting to revisit Will and Brodie and also Ciaran in this part of the story. I do have some questions surrounding both of the male supporting characters in this book and some of these were answered in this part but some of them, frustratingly, remain a mystery.

Of course I love the setting of this series and we get to go a little further afield in this episode, travelling to Whitby and exploring more of York. I can't wait to see where we go and what we get to see in parts 3 and 4. I'm just about to pick up part 3 and I can't wait to find out what happens!

This is the part 2 of the Little Shop series. Although I haven't read the first book of the series, it didn't really matter as the story was very cheesy and interesting to me.

Hope after her husband's death returns to York and work at a shop called Little Shop of Hidden Treasures, a shop filled with ancient artifacts and treasures. In one such artifact, she comes across an Egyptian treasure that once belonged to a woman named Eleanor. And while working at the shop she meets two men--Will who is looking after his silent niece Brody after his parents' death and Ciaran, a university professor she gets acquainted when working to find the secret of the Egyptian treasure.

This is such a cute, story and I actually enjoyed reading it. I do like the bit of a love triangle between Will, Hope and Ciaran even though in the end, I was rooting that Will and Hope will get together which they did in the end. The part about the Egyptian treasure and the story and history behind that treasure intrigued me and piqued my interest. Overall, this is was actually a cute, funny romance novel that will make you laugh and cry at the same time! Worth 4.5 stars! Looking forward to read more books from this series.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Book 2 of a 4 part book series. Note to readers, you can either read this as a 4 part book series like I’m doing or there is a full length novel which includes all of the 4 parts should you prefer to read it in that format.

I’m really enjoying this little story, the main character of Hope is lovely and she seems to be settling into York really well, making new friends and finding her feet with her new job in the Antique store, not to mention interest from two guys, one of whom she starts dating, but going by the little cliff hanger at the end of part 2, think it’s about to end and not going to become a serious relationship.

The historical mystery of the letter and the emerald ring is turning out to be really interesting despite it having a sad ending, well is certainly appears that way at the moment. Just have to see if anything further comes to light with that mystery in part 3.

Speaking of part 3, I’m heading straight into it, can’t wait to see how Hope’s story evolves/develops from this point forward.

A nice comfort read. I didn’t realise this was part of a series, but I read this without reading the first book and now I want to read the first book and continue reading the series. Whilst not my usual genre I admired how realistic the characters were and I was drawn in by the story the main character was investigating.

My only critique is that it felt as though the main character was getting attracted too quickly and I’m generally not a fan of that kind of approach in romantic novels and some parts in the novel progressed too quickly too to the point where I didn’t see much of the supporting characters - but it seems to work out quite well for this read and maybe other novels will delve further into these characters, maybe not.

Without spoiling anything this was a good comfort read on my long commutes and I would recommend to anyone looking for something light to read. The setting and plot held up quite well.

A diary of hidden dreams, knowledge and a budding romance twinned with an ongoing romance building in current day alongside the historical one. It was also nice to see Brodie and Hope starting to form a friendship through a mutual love of books and puzzles. This is not my normal genre and often I find by this point the story is so saccharine that I give up. However this has so many elements going that the romance is secondary to the mystery of the brooch and Brodie. I am not sure about Ciaran but then again actions speak louder than words.

Egyptian Mystery

As the Egyptian mystery continues to intrigue Hope, she gets to know Ciaran better. Will and his niece Brodie are still fast becoming Hope's friends too. And Hope's world is opening up as she finally feels she can move on from her past.

So good

This is getting better and better. The journal has been a revelation and has thrown up many questions. All the time Hope and Ciaran's relationship seemed to be a little shaky, now we know why.

I find these books hard to rate. A fun enjoyable read that needs little thinking. Entirely predictable, yet I want to read the next one.

Good beach/holiday read.

3.5 that I've rounded down.

This is a great follow up to Part one. I freely admit that the "twist" about Ciaran wasn't what I thought it would be!!! On to Part three!!
