I’m going through a bit of a rough patch.

I lost my job, got kicked out of my apartment, and now I sleep under an overpass. If that wasn’t bad enough, my psychic twin is plagued with daily visions of my death.

She guarantees it’ll be gruesome.

The last thing I needed was for Sole “Sunny” Bellisario to come crashing through my tent.

Someone tried to kill the heir to the notorious Merchant crime family, and he’ll change my life if I help him find out who.

This is just a business arrangement.

I will not be seduced by that wicked grin, reckless lust for destruction, or how quickly he cuts down anyone who crosses me. His long line of brothers, each more gorgeous and deadlier than the last, don’t have a chance either.

Doesn’t matter that despite my impending foretold demise, I’ve never felt this alive. I’m walking away. Returning to a normal life with normal boyfriends who don’t tattoo their body count.

Sunny and the Savage Princes will not have me. They won’t.

They won’t.

Dammit. My sister said Death would court me.

Why didn’t she mention he was hot as hell?

I don’t recall how the author fell under my radar, but boy is I excited she did. When I first saw the book cover, I was instantly intrigued. I skipped the blurb and once clicked. One of my best experiences was going in blind. I loved this book.

MacKenzie and her Sister Sienna have lived in the streets for almost a year. Sienna is a psychic and sees death in her sister’s future. MacKenzie's back story does unfold throughout the book.

One night under the bridge, A man falls into their tent. They find help and find him a Dr. to find out the man is the mob, Him and his family. Now recovering, they are trying to figure out who the mole is in the organization with MacKenzie's help.

Sole and his siblings are the Son of Saints. From the beginning, I couldn't help but love Sole. The guy is such a flirt and very open-minded. Plus, cocky. He knows he will end up with his Angel, Mackenzie. He also sees how she looks at his brothers. But he socked me, and I loved it.

I love how the author did set up the history and did an overview. I appreciate that fact since I haven't read the generation before. I didn't feel like I missed much. But I am sure I did. The book is well written and easy to follow, and I love the author's writing style.

What a shock and doozy of a cliffhanger; I can't wait to see how the author spins what happens next.

WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WAS THAT ENDING?!!
YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT I HAVE TO WAIT TILL MAY TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!!!!
Not cool Ruby Vincent.. NOT COOL AT ALL.

Now that the high after reading this one has mellowed, let's get back to the review.
I'm genuinely surprised that this book has barely been picked up by people. I'm genuinely enjoying Ruby's recent books a lot more and think it's well worth the read!

So when the Saints and Sinners series ended, I got to know that Ruby was writing a series for the next generation and completely dismissed it. But let me tell you how much I loved this one! Okay, maybe not as much as I loved the previous series but it's still well appreciated.

The Savage Heirs series follows the lives of the kids of Adeline, Saint, Jasper, Killian and Baris. They have 6 kids including Jasper's first daughter, Rosie. Four of the kids take over their parents', The Merchants, legacy and divide the city their parents conquered for the last forty years, while Adeline and her men are living out their retirement. The kids represent their parents extremely well! Sunny/Sole reminded me so much about Saint's playfulness, Liam had Killian's analytic side and Bane although being the son of the quiet and intimidating Baris, turned out to be the most talkative and energetic sibling, while Genny reminded me of Adeline's strength and determination.

Someone's trying to destroy The Merchants which ends up with Sunny getting thrown off a bridge. Thankfully his fall is broken by a bed that belongs to the homeless sisters Mackenzie (the FMC) and Sienna. After they save him, Sunny gets the sisters to help him figure out a possible rat in his gang along with trying to understand who is targeting him and his siblings.

Mackenzie's life story was depressing to read and deep down I was hoping she would end up like Adeline.. unfortunately that didn't happen. This book got me giggling at the most random dialogues, especially with Sienna and her innocence. Not to mention her ability to discern the future, which gave this story a bit of a supernatural feel.

If you've read the Saint and Sinners series, you will definitely love reading this one. The cliffy in this book will absolutely destroy you so watch out for that. I'm just hoping we get to see Adeline and her men pop up in the next books!

Just when I thought there was nothing that could top the Saint and Sinners series, Ruby Vincent delivers an EPIC EXPLOSION in her latest debut Son of Saint. Starting off the second generations stories in The Savage Heirs series with a SPECTACULAR BANG!

HANDS OFF Sole! I called dibs already!

Once again Ruby killed it to the point of rendering me speechless. Then again that’s nothing new, Ruby Vincent just always seems to have a way with words when it comes to the stories she writes that always leaves me in awe. And Son of Saint is another testament to that!

If you’re looking for a book that is a Thriller which is Action Packed, with lots of Mystery, Drama, Suspense and Fiery Steam, ultimately leading you on a wild goose chase, then look no further because Son of Saint is it!

Told through multiple POVs of which included TALL, DARK, HOT and SEXY Alphas known as Sole ‘Sunny’ Bellisario, Liam Hunt and Bane Alexander. Plus some BadAss, Strong and Tough female characters such as the FMC Mackenzie ‘Kenzie’ Blaine. As well as supporting characters Sienna Blaine and Genevieve ‘Genny/Eve/FHG’ Hunt.

Son of Saint was one heck of a wild, crazy, whirlwind rollercoaster ride adventure, built on the backbone of the strong, intense yet exciting narrative.
It was like deja vu reading this story, bringing back memories of how I felt when I read Saint from Saint and Sinner series.
There was so much to take in, absorb and try to figure out considering the secrets that are alluded to within the mysteries that are trying to be solved.
Every which way you went there was another twist, turn, drop and loop that would make you even more confused and lost. It threw you all over the place, resulting in losing yourself in trying to keep on top of all the clues within this puzzle that is needed to be pieced together. Ultimately falling down the rabbit hole with how consumed you become in seeking the answers as well as devouring the parts that come from learning about each of the characters and their past.

While the narrative focused on the new generation and their story, Ruby Vincent added information about the past and what went down in Saint and Sinners series. Which I thought was handy, not only because the two series are connected. But for those who may not have read the first series, it allowed the blanks to be filled in for the readers who may have started with The Savage Heir series first.

OMFG it had to be said I absolutely loved and adored Sole, but then again that isn’t surprising since I loved his dad Saint too. He was definitely his father’s son all the way. And it showed in his words, actions and personality. I honestly couldn’t get enough of him and wanted more.

Whilst the relationship between Sole and Kenzie definitely reminded me of Saint and Addy’s at times. It was their own too in many different ways. The witty banter between them was definitely fun to watch as their relationship grew, it brought a comedic side to the story. However there was still a serious side too, showing growth from the actions of Sole within the situations that occurred. Pulling on my heartstrings in the process.
There was just something about the two that you couldn’t get enough of, making you want more than there was. Especially when it came to the Fiery Heat between the two. They definitely gave Saint and Addy a run for their money that’s for sure!

All hail the Ruby Vincent who I have dubbed as Queen of Cliffy! She done did it again, with an eye popping, jaw-dropping, explosive cliffhanger ending! I wasn’t ready for it at all.
HOLY MOLY Daughter of Deception, the next book in The Savage Heirs series could not come fast enough. I will be eagerly counting down the days in anticipation!

This is an Audible-specific review, for context:

I’d give this more stars if this had a duet-type narration based on the way the chapters and the characters came about in this book. The chapters switched POV mid chapter and sometimes several times in a chapter. — actually, as an Audiobook consumer and a sometimes reader, I find this kind of irritating because of my ADHD…. It’d be easier for me to consume a 2 page chapter in one MC’s POV than having 10 of them happen in one chapter. I do understand how and why the author ‘grouped’ her chapters the way she did, but with the narrative on an audiobook with one female narrator that’s not the best on voicing male variations, i feel like the author did themselves a disservice.

There were times I had to rewind because the narrative was spoken with a mid tone female voice for a dialogue dealing with obvious first person male *ahem* situations. 😜 It was throwing me out of the scene and getting confused.

All said, I’m still going forth with the next book!

And I’m more annoyed I wasn’t notified there were more than 2 books in this series how they normally are via Audible, Amazon or Goodreads!

Does the author want me to be disappointed when I consume their books?!

It’s a common courtesy to let readers know if they’re going into an incomplete series. I had to find out from non-spoilers from the next book that it’s not complete. That’s not cool, and to put it as mild as I can: Not everyone follows authors social media(s) to get up on every second of their lives, so I find it even more of a rude cliffhanger that I wasn’t notified by basic industry known means to notify readers that the series isn’t complete. Food for thought.

I’m done ranting now😜. I’ll enjoy what I can, because it really is good.

It took me daaaaaaays to finish this. Man, it dragged. It was all just a bit boring and I never connected with any of the characters. They all felt oddly overworked but also underdeveloped at the same time?!? Weird, right? The psychic sister was the best part of book. I’d be interested in reading a spin-off series about her but other than that I think I’m probably done for good with the Cinco City books. There’s just too many gangs and characters and boroughs and too much that’s supposed to fit together but it feels like the author is showing a square peg into a circle hole. We just don’t this much happening. Takes away from the characters.

The writing was good but the plot just didn’t capture my attention after awhile. I felt like it moved to slowly with not enough action. It ends on a cliffhanger but I don’t have enough interest to keep going.

I struggled when it came to starting this book. The original Sinners and Saints series was a completed series when I discovered it. So, I had the pleasure of devouring the non-stop action and spice in days. The cliff hangers were shocking, but the answers were simply a click away on my kindle. Starting an unfinished series is a personal kind of torture but I somehow convinced myself after reading the blurb 101 times that this will work. That this book is the story of only ONE of the many children of the Merchants. This was reinforced to the cover of the next book featuring a daughter, so I pulled the trigger, and it was the worst amazing choice I've ever made in reading.

This book was phenomenal. I think I may love the savage heirs 100X more than their parents. I love their banter, their sense of loyalty, family, how despite being crime lords they still bicker and are playful like a group of school aged kids.

Kenzie is both vulnerable and strong. She is trusting, caring, affectionate, and protective of her loved ones. She isn't the bad ass female lead in the sense that she's kicking ass and taking names. She is very outspoken, doesn't back down, and is a fighter. I just need her to learn her worth.

Sunny is so much fun, carefree, observant, passionate, and speaks without filter.

Now, the big question, is this a RH?? I don't know!!! There is sexual tension like you would not believe. Kenzie has a life Pre-Sunny and she has been vibing with River. Post Sunny, she starts vibing with Liam..... and Bane.

But in her defense, the entire family just seems to ooze sex. Even sister Genny flirts and kisses. There is limited spice in this book. But what you do get is HOT.

The organized crime aspect is very interesting. This is set 40 years AFTER the Saint and Sinner's series. The kids are running Cinco City differently while handling generational grudges.

This book consumed me and the cliff hanger had me screaming. I highly recommend but with caution.

I was quite disappointed with this book, and there's one main reason: The characters.

The Savage Heirs series will be focusing on the children of Saint, Cash, Brutal, and Mercer from Vincent's previous series. Now that in itself already kind of bugs me, because I prefer authors who try new things, take a few risk,s and don't repeat the same thing over and over. But here, Vincent is keeping the exact same world she's used before and now is using the offspring of her former heroes.

Now, that part I could have forgiven if the story had been filled with new ideas, an interesting plot, and characters. Unfortunately, there's nothing of all of that. The heroes of the Savage Heirs series are a 1:1 copy of their parents. Sunny is the same kind of crazy as Saint, he seemingly takes nothing seriously and has a whole repertoire of funny nicknames and inappropriate innuendos. Just like Sain. Liam is the serious brooding type, who overanalyses and over-organises everything, just like Cash. And Bane, although very vocal, is the best best fighter ever, just like Brutal.
There was nothing original about any one of the new Merchants. It was boring and predictable and a disappointing letdown.
Kenzie and her sister also made no sense. There was way too much missing to make their stories make sense. Everyone was treating Kenzie like a grown-up while her sister got the kid treatment even though she's 20 years old. The whole psychic thing was a useless and dumb addition, which added no value to the story. And finally, the entire plot twist about how Kenzie gets sucked into this world of gang wars neither made sense nor did it seem in any way believable. It was a very strange turn which I resented, especially because I enjoyed the potential she had at the beginning. Her vague background, her homelessness, and strong character at first seemed like an ideal mix to create something interesting. Unfortunately, this book did not deliver.

2.5 Stars. Every now and then a blurb is good enough for me to be convinced to try a Reverse Harem book and it rarely works out. I try to like these but I just don't get it. These guys are rich, handsome, accomplished, motivated and yet, they can't find any women except one that makes each of them feel whole. She's an unbelievably great girl, it's true, but she's just not enough to be all of that for all of them no matter how often she talks like an apprentice of the Dalai Lama. Even so, I don't get it. I think what really makes me crazy is that she's turned on by every good looking guy she comes across. EVERY one. How they all look at her and ignore her sister is just weird and I don't know what is up with Genny but if they throw her in there with her brothers, I'm not able to go there. It's hard enough with blood sibling brothers sharing a girl, but if you throw in the sister, I'm not going to be okay with that. Finally, I didn't think the sex scenes were all that erotic. So far between Sonny and Liam, I don't know how she can tell them apart in the bedroom - maybe she doesn't even try.

Besides not being sold on the RH aspect, I'm not sold on the plot either. It was - to be blunt, dumb. No way would that really go down like that. But more importantly, I feel it's impossible that the OG Saints are not in the know and doing something to fix this shit that their kids can't seem to get under control. I feel like none of these guys, except maybe River are actually in control of their people.

I was going to go onto the next book despite my reluctance to get onboard the RH train because I want to see what I know will be a ridiculous and unlikely resolution to Sonny's medical issues (I'm sure, despite all he is doing to make this a permanent problem for himself, he'll be miraculously cured), but I see it's ANOTHER cliffhanger and that is not for me.

We’re back in Cinco City with the Merchants, but they’re not the Merchants we know and love - they’re the next generation and it’s so intriguing to see how their parents’ personalities have rubbed off on them in various ways.

Mackenzie and Sienna Blaine have been down on their luck for months until their fortune changes when a man falls from the sky, crushing their tent and setting off a crazy series of events and getting them tied up in the Merchants’ business and their personal lives. There’s a lot they’re hiding and it slowly comes out, but they put their trust in the Merchants to keep them safe and help them regain control of their lives while also helping them secure their control on the city.

Sole (Sunny) Bellisario, Liam Hunt, Bane Alexander and Genny Hunt are the Savage Heirs - they’ve taken over the Merchants from their parents and they rule Cinco City in a similar way to their parents. I love seeing the next generation of Merchants and how they resemble their parents and work together to keep things running. Kenzie throws a wrench into their lives while helping them out and I’m really curious to see where things go - there’s so much plotting and violence already and I imagine it’s just the beginning!

I struggled a little bit to get into the story in the first half of the book. There was a lot of setup happening to establish the new characters and plot, but I felt like there were too many players, too many different schemes and way too many secrets to keep them straight. After about 50% I felt like I had a solid grasp on things and it was an easier read, but that first half was tough to get through.

I’m really looking forward to the rest of this series - the Savage Heirs are just getting started and they’re definitely going to cause some major trouble in Cinco City, just like their mom and dads did back in the day.

3.5 ⭐️
This book series is a spinoff of the saint and sinners series that includes the children of the MCs of the original series.

Kenzie is living with her sister on the streets. Her sister is physic, and they scrape by off of her meager paychecks. They are on the run. Their lives change when they save Sunny after someone attempts to murder him. Sunny is one of the children of the original series and a gang leader (more or less). He immediately forms a connection with Kenzie when she saves his life. Hijinks ensue as Kenzie and Sienne (her sister) become involved in Sunny's life of organized crime and Sunny tries to break down Kenzie's walls.

Despite this "dark" subject matter and being advertised as "A Dark Romance", this book isn't actually that dark (so far, I guess). This book has the same overall vibe as the saint and sinners series, but I have to admit that I liked the first book of that series more than I liked this one. The passing mentions to the first series were fun, and seeing the personalities of the children of the original series is entertaining. I liked the single parent aspect a lot and seeing the love interests with kids was super cute. One thing that is hard in reverse harems is making sure that the love interests are all easily distinguishable and don't blend together, which this book does a good job of. So far, I'm invested in the romance, characters, and plot. It's fast-paced, a good mix of romance and action, and a solid start.

Huge Cliffhanger!

I've been not so patiently waiting for Son of Saint to release since this series was announced. I fell in love with Saint in Ruby's Sinners and Saints series and knew the next generation would be amazing. I was not wrong!

Sole "Sunny" Bellisario, is the youngest of the next generation. He is everything I hoped for. I fell in love with his personality immediately. He is sweet, funny, and ruthless when needed. My only complaint, I wanted more of him.

This was a solid 4 star read for me. The only thing preventing it from reaching 5 was the slow start. I understand the need for world and character building with a new series, but nothing really started happening until about 50% in. There was also a ton of characters to keep up with. Many of them I loved though, so I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

I loved MacKenzie. She is the perfect balance of a strong female, but not over the top. Her sister Sienna is amazing as well. I'm holding out hope she gets a story in the future already.

I'm interested to see where the series is going. Is it RH? Idk yet. How does the sister play in this dynamic with her book being next? I'm left with a lot of questions, which I expect from a Ruby Vincent book. She never fails to leave you wondering what you just read and what comes next.

Son of Saint does end on a BIG cliffhanger! I don't know how I'm supposed to wait until May to see what happens next.

First, let me just say that the Sinners & Saints series was amazing. I loved them and the complex characters Ruby Vincent brought to life. This book follows their heirs...well some of them. Some of the heirs decided to live normal lives outside the Merchant (gang) life. Now this book...I am not sure exactly where this story is going. Is this a reverse harem? Unsure right now between Sunny, Liam, Bane, and possibly River?

The story took a really long time to get going, however, I understand that the reader needs to know first what has become of Cinco City and introduce the new players. I was bored honestly for the first half the book. I loved the heroine, McKenzie (Kenzie) and her sister, Sienna. Not sure where Sienna, a psychic, plays into the story other than be a weakness for Kenzie. I thought maybe she would find a love interest in one of the siblings as a subj romance. Instead, she sort of gets pushed aside while the men are attracted to her sister.

For the most part, I am interested in whether this will be a reverse harem or she will end up with just Sunny (the literal son of Saint). So far, she has only had sex with Sunny, messed around with Liam, and kissed by Bane. Also, let me just say that Sunny is swoon worthy. He has the humor and the audacity as his father while also being this huge sweetheart.

PS: I am praying we get a cameo from the parents!!!

I knew that this series was going to have some big shoes to fill because I loved the series about the parents so so so much. Let me tell you I was not disappointed! I love the way Ruby Vincent writes these characters. How she weaves them in and out of the story in a way that you don't pick up on some of the clues for the plot twists so that you're able to actually be surprised when you get to it. You get enough information about each of them without giving anything away. This one has tripped me up just a little bit because I am not sure how the relationship(s) will come together at the end. I thought I had it figured out then I didn't - but then I thought I did again?.. It's definately keeping me on my toes in that aspect.
The kids are exactly what I would expect from the original Merchants though, especially Sunny. If you adored his father Saint then you will absolutely flipping love Sunny! Be prepared for one hell of an ending with this one because it blew me away and I am so ready for the next book!

One of the best books I've read in a while!

So, I didn't actually plan on reading this book now. I get far too frustrated waiting on the next book in a series, then the next - so it's a general rule that I wait until the series is complete before I even add it to my TBR.

I finally got around to reading about the previous generation and afterwards I thought, "Just a taste. That won't hurt. Just enough to whet my appetite and hold me over until the series is finished." Riiight. So here I am, hours later and I've barely even eaten today, KICKING myself for breaking my ONE RULE.

Thanks, Ruby. You've ruined my year and it's only February.
P.S. if you want to make it up to me, you could write faster. Or send me a time machine. Up to you, I'll be waiting! ;)

Mackenzie and Sienna fell on hard times. They were homeless and just trying to survive in the streets on Cinco City, using Sienna's psychic gift to try and pay for food. Until Sunny crash landed into their lives. Sunny was one of the Merchant heirs who run this City, and he needed their help to track down who tried to kill him.
Mackenzie may be attracted to Sunny, but that debt mean she will act on her feelings, no matter how much he flirts with her or sends his wicked grin her way. She isn't helping the Merchants for money, but to try and keep her little family safe- because if the attempted killer knows that she can ID him, she will spend the rest of her life looking over her shoulder. And with her sisters predictions of her death on her mind, the safest place for her may just be with the ruthless and deadly Merchants.
So I have been looking forward to this book's release since it was first announced it was happening. I LOVED Saints & Sinners by Ruby Vincent and this is the first book in the spin off series featuring the kids of the Merchants. I loved meeting the new characters, and cannot wait to see where this series takes us.
Mackenzie is strong, and stubborn, but also compassionate and hopeful. She may have experienced bad throughout her life, and have fallen on bad times, but she doesn't let that stop her or her sister. They don't lie or cheat or steal. So getting wrapped up in Merchant drama is bad news for them. But what is the alternative when a gorgeous, mysterious man falls through your tent? Letting him die wasn't an option.
Sunny fell for Mackenzie-literally. He doesn't remember much about that night, but when he opened his eyes to a Angel taking care of him, he knew he couldn't let her go. She wasn't like anything he's met before. And it appears his brothers feel the same way. But she was also keeping a secret. Hopefully one that doesn't cost the Merchants everything.
This book is a dark gang book that takes place in Cinco City one of the most gang ridden cities in the country. The Merchants may have helped the city a long way when they ruled, but the city is far from being perfect. There is trouble brewing in the underbelly - can the Merchant Heirs make it out of it alive or will the city be burned down in the uprising?
If you're looking to dive back into Cinco City, and meet the Merchant Heirs in this dark contemporary romance then pick up Son of Saint and meet Mackenzie, Sunny the rest of the Merchant Heirs today. 4.5⭐ out of 5⭐.

Saint Bellisario's Son, Indeed

Here’s the thing. Reputations are tricky. Easily manipulated, shattered with a word, repaired with a single act. Anyone can be just about anything in the eyes of those who see only what you allow them to see. But if there’s one thing I learned from my parents, it’s the benefits of wearing a mask.

What everyone gets wrong is that I don’t refuse to kill because I can’t stomach it. I hold off because I tend to get carried away. But what can I say? Crazy’s genetic. My father is proud to know that of all the Savage Princes, I’m the worst one.

The characters are awesome but the convoluted plot requires some serious suspension of disbelief even though I give her credit for complexity and surprise. The relationships are fun but kind of ridiculous. Kenzie is too perfect of course and her sister role seems to be just motivation for surviving and confirming it's ok to pursue every cute guy in her orbit. I started skimming pretty early because i wanted to know how they resolve Sunny's issues. But of course that doesn't happen since it's a cliffhanger.

Pleasantly surprised

I almost didn’t start this book after finishing the first four. But boy am I glad I did! The story really sucked me in from the very beginning, and held my interest the whole way through. I love how strong Kenzie is, and her relationship with her sister really resonated with me. Sunny and his siblings are great, and I love how all the relationships develop between the characters. It definitely ends on a cliff hanger, so be prepared for that. Running for the next book immediately!!

Whyyyyy why I know Vincent likes cliffys but I haaaaaad to read my man's kids book. Saint is what I always wanted in an MC and his spawn definitely lived up to the hype. I can't wait for book two ... I'm not suuuuure if there's going to be ff in this harem it's a little ambiguous and their sister is the cover/title for book two but still excited and loving all the characters so far.

GAHHHH!!! (No spoilers!)

Soooooo good!!!
With every Ruby Vincent book, I am left with my heart pounding and my staring at the screen of my kindle ready to throw it across the room. All in the VERY BEST ways possible! This book did not disappoint! Love the interaction of all the characters as well as the twist and turns it takes! Ruby Vincent is ALWAYS a go to author for me! Can’t wait to see what happens next!!!

Completely different from anything I have read before. I couldn't put it down. Mackenzie and her psychic sister, Sierra, are homeless and on the streets. They save mafia guy, Sunny, after an attempted murder gone wrong. The girls are quickly ensconced into Sunny and brothers, Dane and Liam's lives trying to find out who wants them dead. All of the characters were fleshed out real. Mackenzie especially was protective, fierce, and sweet. She had so many layers to her. So, so good.

Hard to put down!

Another brilliantly crafted story by Ms Vincent. I carried my iPad around with me to do the chores today, so i didn't have to put this book down. I've also run through a whole gamut if emotions in the last 24 hours whilst reading. The FMC's internal dialogue is so relatable, snd the plot never quite goes where i think it will. Please keep writing, as I have loved everything if yours I have read, this being the 8th series i have read!
