I bought this to add to my collection of beautiful home decor books. This one was different from the rest. This one actually kept me returning to read all the pages, the ideas, and invoked such calming yet inspiring feelings about myself, my family and my home. This one I actually savored because it was more than just pictures of pretty spaces. Yes, it had those too, with lots of great ideas, tips, inspirations, but the writing added so much more. I loved how the chapters were laid out with pictures of only parts of the space and then at the end had a picture of the whole space. This is a fantastic book!

I heart this book. As a ehrm, more seasoned mom some of this material was old hand. But I love her reminders about loving the space your in, I think a lot of younger moms need to hear that. We can’t all rip out our kitchens and get marble everything. But we can all choose joy, and contentment with what we have right now. I am no expert designer, so her tips on home dec were great. I am not doing any major room projects, but it never really is done is it?

This is by far the best decorating book I’ve read in ages. In fact as I started reading this borrowed library book, I stopped short and knew I had to own this book so I could make marks in the margins! I absolutely love Bre Doucette’s decorating style and look forward to following her blog. So many simple ideas and words of encouragement. Photos are beautiful and so inspiring! So glad this is now part of my permanent library!
