This book is not a stand alone text, indeed the book Introduction states it is to be used accompanying a first year text or a review book for the end of first year Or beginning second year course,I agree and think this book does an amazing job overall. But it does not state this when purchasing the book, therefore a star was taken off. I believe this book should have been better marketed towards ones who are not a complete beginner. The exercises are short and sufficient which I loved. The exercises tie into to each other, you do not complete a certain lesson and never see or use it again. As with most books, this one sometimes gives you vocabulary in the writing exercises that were not previously covered, which can be annoying but it is pretty easy to look them up and complete the exercise.

The exercises in this book helped with memorizing sentence structures and vocab when I paired with other learning material. Also it helps to uncover weaknesses you have in basic grammar and sentence structure. I would not hesitate to buy any other items by the author.

J'adore ce livre! Mais, pense que il faut commencer avec les tenses en avance qui depuis. However, this is a really good book to start with! I highly recommend.

I used this work book along with Living Languages French Course book and over the course of 2 months that it took for me to complete the later, I feel I gained much more from the work book. The Living Languages book taught me vocabulary, but this book taught me how to write in French and also how to create my own sentences. I would highly recommend this book whether you are learning on your own or you just want to reinforce the things you learned elsewhere.
