Two realms. One relationship. And a chasm they need to cross.

Reece

My husband had no memories of me. It was okay, though, because I still had him.

Then there was Damien. I'd started falling in love with a while ago, and he was finally ours.

There were things that haunted me, memories from a past I'd rather forget. But I had my men by my side and they helped me through the dark days.

Being in love had never felt so beautiful.

Damien

I finally had the men I'd dreamed of having. They were mine, and I was theirs.

I couldn't leave Otherworld to be with them all the time. I was the King, and it was my duty to take care of my realm.

Still, we made it work. Reece and Artemus were everything I'd never known I needed.

Being in love had never felt so right.

Artemus

Nothing felt worse than not remembering the man you loved. But I was learning to focus on the present and make new memories.

Damien helped. With his cheerful smile and the way he loved with his whole heart, how could he not?

But when he disappeared without a word, nothing felt right. We had no way of reaching him, and no idea if he was okay.

Being in love had never felt so scary.

Pet's Ploy is a 40k words low-angst MMM paranormal romance starring a cinnamon-bun devil, a sweet gentle-giant who needs lots of cuddles, a slightly frustrated Master, a hedgehog named Spike, and the talking snake Ro'Shassz.

Pet's Ploy is the second book in the Fate's Gambit series and ends in an HFN. The series follows the same characters and must be read in order.

Finally, Artemus can come home. After the accident, Reece made a deal with the devil aka Damien to save his husband's life. In book one, you can read what happened and how they all fall in love.
It’s a home he can’t remember.

It’s a sweet continuation of Reece, Damien, and Artemus their journey.
The characters are more developed and all try to find a place in their relationship.
Art is still the dominant, Reece the sub and Damien the sweetest, (not)devilish demon.
There are even some new titles!
Ro’Shassz adores Reece but has doubts about Art.

Try to imagine how awful it is when your master, who you daily served, can’t remember you.
Try to imagine how frightening it is to be married and be a master but have to make new memories.
Try to imagine how huge love feels when you can love not one but two men and they love you back.
Damien is traveling between realms, when Damien is in the Otherworld, Reece and Artemus feel there’s something wrong, Damien needs them.

The fantasy is wonderful here, different realms, various creatures watch Ro’Shassz and Spike <3. The dynamic between the three main characters was awesomely engaging, I loved it all.
Fate had big plans for the three of them.

With Arty out of his coma and Reece no longer in Otherworld, the 3 have to find their place in their unusual relationship.
It's made harder that Arty doesn't remember Reece and Day feels left out.
A couple of steamy scenes, a little D/s and Daddy/boy but not a whole lot.
This is such a cute series and I love how Fate meddles. There's a cameo from a Mistvale character that fans will recognise.

Honestly? Same as my review for the first one. I know this is heavily influenced by magic but like... YOU SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MAGIC HEAVY PROBLEMS AWAY-
Like... did a god or something really just magic Arty's amnesia away? NO FAIR-
This is one of the reasons why I don't read low angst books, smh...

Need to help your mate? Now you have magical powers and know exactly how to use them! Oh your memories? I know a guy! My point is solutions for their problems just seemed to fall into their laps. How can they stay in the Otherworld? Don’t worry, the king will give you those powers as a mating gift. I am not a big fan of high angst books but this was not a low angst it was no angst.

This was ok. I didn’t really get their dynamic and the whole “daddy” thing kind of came out of nowhere. Very low heat but sweet. However I was kind of bored and seriously thought of not finishing. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next one.

I love this series!

I received an ARC copy of this book, for an honest review.

Pet’s Ploy is the second book, in the Fate’s Gambit trilogy. These books have cliffhangers, so they do need to be read in order, and are a continuing story.

The second book delves into our three MC’s lives deeper. Artemus is recovering from his accident, and Reese and he have added Damien to their lives. This second book really focuses more on their relationship in the human realm, but there are still visits to Otherworld.

I really loved that each chapter is told from all three MC’s points of view. This book lets us get to know Reese even further than book one, and I am a big fan of this ginger, bearded giant. He is so gentle and giving, and we get to see a lot more of his backstory.

I also adore, adore, adore, that the Devil is so sweet! Damien seems almost fragile when he is with these two men, and we find out why, as he admits to certain feelings and needs. His love of Disney, and pretty things, (and his first taste of popcorn) makes me want to hug him tight. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, but he and Reese really cement their relationship, and we see how all three of these men fit together.

Arty is much more prevalent in this book, as he should be compared to the first one, and I loved getting to know him better. He’s dealing with a lot – recovering, trying to get his memories back, figuring out his place in their relationship, and figuring out Reese. He may not have his memories, but he is very sure of how he feels about his men. And, the sexy times between these three are hellfire worthy.

Ro is still his snarky snake self, and even though I don’t like snakes, I love some Ro sass.

I can’t wait for book three, even though I am sad this story will be coming to an end. I’m looking forward to getting to know Arty more, and to see where Fate will take these three men.

For me, these books will go in my re-read list. I don’t think I’ll be able to let them go.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. I loved that It has all the sweetness that I expect from one of Stella Rainbow’s stories. Artemus has just woken up from his coma and he doesn’t remember Reece but he finds out the Day knew that Artemus doesn’t remember him and never said anything and starts yelling at Day because he’s angry and hurt until Artemus tells him off and explains that when Day visited him in Dreamworld he spent all the time telling him about Reece and how much Artemus loves him so Reece feels guilty for yelling at Day as he knows that Day was just trying to protect him as if Reece found out that his husband and Master Artemus doesn’t even remember him it would really hurt him. Now Artemus, Reece and Day need to work out how they fit together now there’s three of them and Artemus needs to work out how to still be what Reece needs even if he doesn’t remember him.

They all help each other cope with a bit of help from Fate who visited Reece and gave him some advice, as well as offering their assistance if he ever needed someone to talk too since she’s a therapist who helps people and knows about the supernatural world so Reece can be open about his boyfriend being the King of the Otherworld. I loved how Artemus and Reece let Day be exactly who he is and even brought him some cute clothes to wear. Ro’Shassz still cracks me up especially how long he held a grudge with Caelan for after Caelan accidentally stepped on his tail at least 50 years ago and they still don’t get along until someone is hurting Day, then they’re both on the same side. After the twist during the last few chapters of the book I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens for Artemus, Reece and Day and seeing if Fate has anything else in store for them. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

😒 🙄 pfff!
Allez Tchusss! To be continue 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Here we have book 2 of the Fate’s Gambit series. Please don’t read it if you haven’t read book 1, Devil’s Gamble. Arty is awake and is healed in body if not totally in mind. He still doesn’t have his memories of Reece from the past 2 years but he is determined to make new ones. Reece is determined to show Arty how much he still loves him. Damien has both of them together and is trying to figure out how he fits into their dynamic. These three continue to grow and learn and explore their relationship through this book. Damien is so sweet and just wants to be a part of them so badly and is afraid it will get taken away. Reece and Arty have to figure out how to show him how much he belongs as part of their lives. I enjoyed this book a lot. Watching these three characters develop has been so much fun. I also love Ro’Shassz. The snake and the hedgehog Spike are just too cute for words.

I enjoyed book one very much and have to say that this book was actually better. That might be to familiarity with the characters, or just that there was time to expand upon the world building. The triad relationship between the MCs continued to develop. And even Arte's memory loss doesn't impede it. Much.
Service kink never was of much interest to me, although Rainbow's version of it is rather interesting. And it looks good on Reece. Damien's need for a daddy is classic "have a very responsible job, need time and space not to be in charge". But how often is it the devil who needs that? And Arte might not be the best developed character in the book, but he uses his dom powers for good.
Another solid, enjoyable book. Looking forward to the last in the series.

This is a slow-moving series and even if #2 felt like it dragged out, it was interesting to see where it went.
Stella Rainbow's writing is a strange mix of simple and complex. There is no angst that is noteworthy even if she sometimes deals with angst-worthy topics.
The characters are not only NOT stereotypes - but they fight against stereotypes - yet they remain largely underdeveloped.
The plot seems straightforward and simple, but then it will take sudden turns and dives that can not be foreseen - you might be confident about how this will end, but not the path it will take.
Her writing is a mix of sometimes it flows and sometimes it doesn't and I wonder if this is an editing issue. Overall 3.5/5 rounded to 4. It feels like a part of a novel - not a novel in itself.

These three men, (plus Ro’Shassz and Spike) have stolen my heart!
Looking at you Stella for a Ro and Spike short story.
Anyway, Day, Reece and Arty have such a unique relationship and it is written so well.
I absolutely love how their roles aren’t clearly defined and while reading you truly see the self growth in all 3 men.
Seeing Reece take his own mental health seriously and not putting on the back burner was such a real life step that many are afraid to take and I was so impressed.
I cannot wait for the next installment in this series!
It is fun and fluffy and I just want to snuggle right between all three of them!

This one felt a bit more serious than the previous one. The guys confronted and handled more of their relationship and personal issues. I appreciated the way the author handled the aftermath of the trauma they had been through. While a lot of questions were answered, many new ones arose. I'm eager to continue the series and hopefully get these guys happily ever after.

As is typical with this author, the side characters are fabulous! I really can't imagine being done with this series until every single story is wrapped up, lol.

Such a great follow on.
When Reece and Day come back form Otherworld to find Arty is awake from his coma , every thing should be perfect . But Arty has no memory of Reece, just what Day had told him.
The three develops a solid relationship over time, Arty going back to school and Day having to spend time in Otherworld. Even Ro Shasssz has a mate.
Have to read Devils Gamble to understand what's going on in this book. And nice to read past characters from Mistvale included.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Looking forward to next in series

This was much better than the first one! Arty has awoken and has come home. His body is healed, but his mind has forgotten, and the men make new memories. Damien is really sweet but has insecurities. I really like the character development between the three. The secondary characters are fantastic!! Overall much better, I cannot wait for the next. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

Pet's Ploy is the second book in the Fate Gambit trilogy by Stella Rainbow. This book is the continuation of Reece, Artemus and Damien's story and the series should be read in order. This book ends on a HFN. I really liked the story of Reece, Artemus and Damien. Their story was sweet, full of feels and well written. Can't wait for the next part of their story

Excellent addition

This was such a great book following this triad. It immediately follows the first book and shows how they had to work to make the relationship come together. It also has an exciting conclusion that gives a peak into the future for the triad. I am so looking forward to the series conclusion.

Great read!

The only problem I had with this book was the repeat of the last chapter. It was done twice. I know this is part of a trilogy but care should’ve been taken to make sure it was edited right. Otherwise excellent read would do it again. Getting ready to get the last part of the series.

Reece Damien & Artemus had a great slow burn Story, at first, while they got on their feet as a throuple. Then, bam!!! All the excitement happens!!! I also loved the spot appearance of previous characters in the Mistvale series...

Great continuation

I am loving Damien, Reece, and Arty! Full of sweet moments, a little angst, and tons of love. Ro'Shassz and spike are adorable. I really liked the twist in the last 20% or so. I can't wait to see what Fate has in store for these three!

This was so sweet but I struggled with how Damien was portrayed. So glad everyone can work on their issue and be together. I loved how everyone seems to find a place for themselves in the relationship and the big action scene at the end was great, I can't wait to hear more.

Fun, sexy and very entertaining MMM. Definitely one of the most unique twists on the Devil that I have read. 3 books in the series and they should all definitely be read in order, at the same time to get the full story and the final HEA :-)

Definitely recommended especially for those gray gloomy days in our lives!

great

Another instalment of this wonderful series. It’s a HFN series ( so far) and each book follows the previous one. I loved the shifter, daemons and humans all coming together. It’s so good. Highly recommended
