Blood Brothers Pack #1

Big Wolf Falling

He never thought it would happen to him…

Leader of adventure vacations and his blood-bound pack, Jon Vargas expects the unexpected, but he never thought he’d find a mate, especially not while on a twenty-one-day Grand Canyon river trip. Locked between the sheer canyon walls with nowhere to go but forward, Jon struggles to resist the lure of his human mate.

When studio musician Channing Fast decides to do something, he takes bold, decisive action. He just didn’t think he’d find the man of his dreams during a white-water outing, especially when he’s just made a major change. The last thing he needs right now is a relationship, yet he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the intriguing trip leader.

Everything gets tossed sideways when Jon tells Channing he’s a wolf-shifter and there’s nothing they can do to resist the forces pulling them together. Not knowing what will happen to him after the mating has Channing trying to fend off the inevitable, but the longer Channing resists, the more powerful the attraction, until he finally surrenders to the passion between them. Only, the mating of their leader is just the beginning of the changes for the blood brothers pack…

This slow-burn M/M romance contains a powerful alpha wolf-shifter, a determined human mate, a once-in-a-lifetime river trip, knotting, wild rapids, sultry sunsets, stargazing, and plenty of seduction and romance. 37,000 words or 148 pages.

Please be each novel features a unique romantic couple, but the series must be read in order to understand the overall story arcs.

Reading, writing, and white-water rafting are the three things Anitra Lynn enjoys the most. She is the author of erotic romances from contemporary to science fiction and everything in between. Even though her tales range from sensual to sizzling, with settings from the high rises of New York to the distant shores of an alien world, one thing all her stories share is compelling characters involved in unforgettable romances.

3 1/2 stars. I felt like this should have been a 4 star read. Unfortunately, there were some things which bothered me. I wasn’t happy with the ending. I don’t want to say anything more and spoil it for others. Also, I must admit that sometimes in the beginning it felt like I was in a geology class being lectured about the Colorado River.

Now for what I liked. I loved Jon. He’s the perfect Alpha wolf shifter. He was so patient with Channing. Even before he knew that he had just quit smoking. I don’t care much for Channing at first, but he grew on me. I loved the story even with the geological lecture. This book was on my kindle for a long time so it’s the first I’ve read by this author. I doubt it will be the last.

The author does a great job here in setting the scene for Jon and Channing’s unexpected romance. It’s hard to think of a more interesting setting for a surprise encounter with fate than a river trip down the Grand Canyon. Jon and Channing are both interesting characters with likable qualities. It’s clear that the series will extend beyond the cohesion of this couple, and all-in-all I’m intrigued by what (and who) might be next on the horizon.

Jon is the head of the Blood Brothers Pack which is a bunch of gay wolf shifters who were kicked out of their birth pack. After a bad experience with a former partner, Jon has given up on finding a mate. He and his pack believe that there is no way there could ever be a fated mate for them. Then they were about to start a 21 day white water rafting trip along the Grand Canyon with three human paying customers. Jon is shocked to realize that one of them is his fated mate.

Channing is a studio musician who takes decisive action. He wants to give up smoking so he joins a 21 day white water rafting trip where he will face no temptations. When he meets the tour guide leader, Jon, sparks fly. Everyone seems to be pushing the two together but Channing doesn't mind. This trip has given him a new love for the outdoors and a new love for Jon.

Nice start to the series. Glad how the story started..nothing long drawn out separate stories then the fated meet up. First chapter you start right in with Jon scenting his mate...Channing. You meet some of the guys in the pack and then there is the slow burn romance...Jon and Channing getting to know each other regardless of the the mate pull. There is an instant chemistry but both guys are careful with each other feelings which I thought was nice. A lot of things were learned during this mating dance and we get a HFN with Jon and Channing but it sorta ended in a cliff hanger since the series I believe will focus on some of the blood brothers and this 3week trip they are on.

Being first is fun. Jon, is Alpha of his pack that runs adventure vacations. On a trip, he senses one of the client is his mate. Channing is not an outdoorsman but he tries. Sadly, it's also the time he decides to quit smoking. Jon's bestie, Morgan is tickled Jon finds his mate and does his best encouraging the relationship. Channing, feels strongly drawn to Jon and doesn't understand why. During his adventure, Channing finds an affinity for being outdoors in nature. Can Channing embrace the outdoors, permanently? Can Channing accept Jon's wolf? How does the pack handle one of them mating? Good story. Great pack, I look forward to reading about the rest of the pack members. Well done! No time was wasted with these two. The author went right in, setting an imaginative scene, of Jon recognizing Channing as his mate.
The full execution of the plot thereafter created an ideal scene of getting to know other characters as well as one another - respectful of the mating pull and the wild emotions that come along with it.

Book one was thoroughly enjoyable and hope we don't have to wait too long for book two.

I liked Big Wolf Falling by Anitra Lynn McLeod. It's the first book in the Blood Brothers Pack series. I enjoyed Channing and Jon's story. We get to see about a week's worth of Channing's twenty-one-day trek down the Colorado River with Jon, his pack, and two other human males. I hope the second book will continue their trek down the Colorado River but focus on Stone and Loren. The book ends with a happy for now/ cliffhanger ending.

Interesting book about a pack of gay wolf-shifters with no mates. We tag along as the leader discovers his mate on a white water rafting trip and the two slowly fall for each other and there is more to their relationship than they expected.

Good book

I really enjoyed it. And how they finally got to be mates. I wonder what was up with Stone. I bet the other guy is his mate and he’s having problems excepting that as well. We will see.....

Too much Grand Canyon & not enough romance. The entire time I kept thinking did they shower, bathe? Guess I'm too much of a city girl to enjoy anything like this.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Wasn't terribly interested in the outdoorsy-ness of it, but it does create a nice little framework that the romance builds around

Good story. Jon and Channing are great characters. Well written story about gay wold shifters. The shifters have a different history about their beginnings than I've read before.
And the last couple paragraphs in the book are a major set up for the next story in the series, which looks like you really need to read in order.
