THE CALLING: THE BOOK OF THOMAS JAMES

This was my first time reading a Novel by Jacob Israel and Boy, am I THRILLED to have found his writings! This was an Excellent Book, I couldn't put it down. It was very thought provoking and I often found myself relating my life to different scenarios throughout the story. I'll be honest, parts of it were rather, "deep" and philosophical and I had trouble wrapping my brain around it but I got the gist of it! In reading this the thought kept coming to me, " what if God were one of us", a neighbor or friend at work? I totally recommend reading this book regardless of religious preferences.

Beautifully inspiring! The world needs more of this!

This book was phenomenal. There are no words to describe how great it is! It's not a work of fiction, it's a reminder of what we all should anxiously anticipate and that only love can lead us there. God uses people in many ways, believe it, remember it and help others remember too.God is good all the time! One day we'll all be together. In the meantime be kind and loving to everyone because you never know when you may be entertaining angels unaware! My mom told me that when I was about 9 years old and a hungry old man came by our house wanting to do any kind of work for some food. We didn't let him work but we fed him and sat on our porch and talked with him. After he left my mom told me that passage and it stuck with me. We have been tasked with two jobs, to love and to teach about God so the blind and deaf might see and hear again! Do not fear for He is with us, always! Never lose hope! I love you all! Thank you Jacob Israel for this inspiring reminder! What a beautiful book, it touched my heart!

Not too sure how I felt about this one! I try to rate with how Goodreads labels their stars, and a 2 star is "It was ok". Three is "I liked it". I'd probably give this a three if there weren't so many editing errors and the ending was very lackluster. A prime example of don't judge a book by its rating... but take a mental note of it because as you get closer to the end of the book the more errors there are and inconsistencies in the layout. One example is in the middle of a paragraph/sentence it just stops and hops down to a new one, but continues as if it hadn't. Just drove me a little nuts.

Had a good story that kept me turning pages, not too preachy and could appeal to many walks of life. Plentiful words of inspiration. This was just a really good rough first draft that should've been poured over a few more times before being published.

Absolutely Amazing! The Calling: The Book of Thomas James is worth a second and third read.

Jacob Israel is an awesome writer. I bought the book, several years ago, but lent it to one of my sisters, after she read it several times, I lent it to one of my daughters. I finally bought the Kindle version so I could use text to speech. I've listened to it twice in a few days time. Jacob is extremely busy with his podcasts on YouTube, so hasn't had time to put out The Calling on audio book yet, then I remembered the Kindle version has text to speech, which is better than nothing. Please watch Jacob Israel on YouTube, his dreams are inspired by Father God. Be sure to give him a Like. I love you all in Christ. Hugs from northern California.

"Search for the truth no matter what the cost!"

I would give 10's across the board if I was able!
From the first page to the last I was consumed by these words, the story that is told here is remarkable and for me, this is a creation of peace, hope and love which our world so desperately needs NOW. "To the ones that hurt the most, show them the most love!" show kindness and be a beacon of light for others to see, show them the way to everlasting peace and joy! Jacob Israel, thank you for sharing with us!!

I'm not a reader. More a want to be reader. But, I couldn't put the book down. Books usually do not hold my interest. Jacob's style is descriptive, allowing you to enter the story. Thought provoking, making the reader think of their own thoughts and actions. I actually bought 4 more copies to give to a few of my friends and family. My only wish was that there were 300 or more pages to read. I devoured this and was sad it was coming to the of the book. I purposely had to slow down as to not finish. I will read it again to get some the details I may have missed.

Great read!!

An incredible read. Not at all what I was expecting and most certainly surpassed my expectations. While it was quite dark at times, it was simultaneously uplifting and inspiring. There is so much depth to this book and lots of hidden gems. Truly a divinely inspired work of art and so relevant to the times I believe we are living in and preparing for in the near future. From beginning to end it was captivating, thought provoking and inspirational.

A book you cannot put down!

The Calling is a wonderful story that could actually happen in our time now. It will inspire you, make you sad, and feel good at the same time. Jacob Israel is a very talented writer and I do hope he writes another novel. He has strengthened my faith and I am grateful for it!

Awesome book!

Very well written. I will be buying the paperback because I still prefer the feel of a book in my hands. Job well done Jacob Israel. You have knocked it out of the ball park with this story. Looking forward to a movie but I find the book is always better than what can be put on screen.

Trying to read. I find the story hard to follow if I can be honest. I haven't finished it yet. The story line is hard for me to read and I have to think really hard about what I am reading so I keep putting it down. When I pick it back up and actually finish it, I will come back with an updated review.

Loved this book!

Thoroughly enjoyed the story, and appreciate the truths planted throughout. The hero shows us that if love is our goal in life, we can have peace and joy in a world full of chaos and lies. 👍👍

The story was excellent with recreating the idea of Jesus on earth. Loved the theme of doing what we are created to do while on earth. Jacks wrote a great book which will build confidence in younger readers. And shows how to have courage and dare to be different and not follow the crowd.

Worth a read

This book was good. I will read the next one when it comes out. Some of the language threw me off a little, with the descriptive words and it was pretty much a downer most of the book, but there is a reason for it, so it fits.

Too many details connected with my own life journey. It was a book I had lined up for completion of books to read for 2022. Oh WoW I believe I am on a different life journey after reading “The Calling” , discovering so many possibilities brought by faith in God, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

This book was given to me as a gift. Staying true to this year's goal, I have been reading more suggestions from others. The story here was interesting and fast paced, but the religious context was often preachy. All in all, pretty entertaining.
