For fans of Pretty Things and The Guest List comes a shocking novella of psychological suspense following a glamorous young actress and an obsessed fan.
Dear Seraphina, I hope you’ll write back someday soon. I know I might be asking too much: you, a Hollywood star; me, a cashier at this small-town grocery store. But the thing is, Seraphina, I have information I think you need to know. And don’t worry about how I got it. Just remember I’ll do anything—anything in the world—to protect you.
This captivating listen begins with fan letters to a beloved young actress, Seraphina, that become increasingly unhinged. As more and more is revealed about the troubled woman behind the fan mail and her connection to the starlet, a story of obsession becomes an expertly plotted tale of wrongdoing and revenge.
As I was cleaning my Audible library, I saw this book marked as Finished and I rated it 4 stars. Unfortunately, I didn't add it to GR and forgot what the story's about. As I started listening to it again, only parts of it were familiar... it's coming back to me...yes this crazy woman and her letters to actress, Seraphina. I don't remember how it ended so it was a good thing. Shocking reveal!
Well done, you got me again! 😁 Changing my rating from 4 to 5⭐!!!

OOOOH WEEEE who knew a short read could pack such a punch!
Dear Seraphina is a short novel about an obsessed fan writing continuous letters to a young glamourous actress. As the letters continue the more the fan gets unhinged and sinister things gets revealed.
I listened to the audiobook of this novel and it was done very well. You can feel the ominous unhinged vibes from the get go and it really peaked my interest the further i listened on. For a short book i was not expecting the many twists that was unraveled. This novella is fast paced, with a sinister dialogue and action packed. It would be the perfect book to listen/ read if you are in a reading slump! Well done Avery Bishop i was pleasantly surprised and loved how even though short it was dark, unpredictable and packed a punch!

This has been on my 'Want to Read' for the longest! Its an Audible Original! Fingers crossed!🤞🏾❤️🖤
Would it be wrong to say this evil little novella was absolutely delightful? Avery Bishop continues to wow me with his or her (no one knows…the author’s true identity is a mystery) evil genius. This book is narrated as a series of letters from a deranged fan to a riding Hollywood star. Things quickly escalate.
This is a fantastic book — one of my favorite types of thrillers where the author totally flips the script on you and suddenly you realize you’ve been reading a different story than you thought. Bishop does this fairly and very cleverly, with just enough clues to the reader that you won’t figure it out, but you had a fair chance.
Bishop is a fantastic, talented, and vert creative rising star in the thriller genre. This is one of the most fun little novellas I’ve listened to all year. I highly recommend it to all my thriller friends.
This was a phenomenal novella. In just over an hour and a half you packed more punches than some full length novels. When I though I had it all figured out you managed to fool me not once, but twice, and there’s nothing I like more than being surprised. I can’t wait to read your next release.
Well done novella 👏, you think its going one way but then the script is flipped on you and it's delicious how it all played out. I laughed a little bit and tried to imagine one part of the after happening and the reactions...
Definitely will be checking out more of this author's work *Mount TBR 📚📚 groans* ----
Hope Netflix or someone adapts this one day, not sure how they would but I think it'd be a good movie.
Oh. I just love Epistolary fiction! Very simple and light. It feels like reading a diary— sneaky and fun.
At first, everything seems innocent and ordinary, but the tone of the letters gradually became darker overtime. Through the continuous letters, I could feel the deep admiration of the main character which I think was perfectly normal until it became downright obsessive. And then the twist came out of nowhere and everything fell into place and you're like, wow. That was something!
This was a delightful read. A satisfying ending, justice was served and I am going to sleep better tonight knowing that I've read a good book.
OMFG! What did I just hear 😳 Woah. Ninety three minutes have never passed so quickly while being so heavy at the same time. Daaaaammmmmmnnnnnnnn. I have a headache, guess my brain short circuited 😂 When you have some time to spare, just listen to it. That's all I can say for now.
This gave me whiplash in just a few pages!! Hands down the best of these quick audible original!!! Perfectly plotted, made my jaw drop when I finally realized what was really going on.
This short story packs more punch that most full-length novels and reminds me why I love psychological thrillers!
The story is told through a series of letters to actress, Seraphina, from a fan. As the story progresses, the letters become more and more obsessive and creepy. You may think you know what is going on, but you're dead wrong!
Between this novella and 'Girl Gone Mad' Avery Bishop is proving to be an unstoppable force in the thriller genre, and I will absolutely read anything this author writes.
Novellas may become my new favorite reads. This book was addictive - quick, easy read that just sucks you in and doesn't let go. I loved the format - letters, emails, notes from the investigator. Just so well done. The letters to Seraphina share characteristics of the main character - works in a local grocery store, little money, lives in a small California town, and some serious mental health issues. Jennifer Smith - perfectly average name for a woman obsessed with a celebrity. After harm befalls a rival for a role, the owner of Seraphina's security company decides to travel, discover more about this fan. Such a great read - great plot.
Dear Seraphina was different and a pleasant surprise. Great Plot, Narration & Characters with a hella twist I did not see coming. Avery Bishop did a wonderful job putting it all together. I think Dear Seraphina worked for me because it's a short story and things didn't drag out with excessive backstory like many longer thriller novels. This was also a treat because it's an Audible original and available free to Audible users.
Most definitely recommended for psychological and suspense lovers.
This novella was a welcomed surprise! Dear Seraphina is a thriller, with a bit of sadness mixed in for the reader. Did not see the twist coming. Would highly recommend!
This was a really quick listen. I didn't know where it was going to go after Part 1, but boy was I sticking around after Part 2! Great thrill ride with a couple of twists. Written as a fan letter to a celebrity that continues to get a more intense as the book unfolded.
Thank you to @letstalkbookspromo and @averybishopbooks for having me on this tour of Dear Seraphina!
Dear Seraphina is my first Avery Bishop book, and also my first ever novella! Told in 3 parts, this short story consists of letters, emails, and notes, all told from different POVs. Jennifer Smith is a forty something woman, working at her local grocery store. Broke and alone, she becomes obsessed with Seraphina Bell, a young and upcoming actress. As she begins corresponding with Seraphina, she waits, desperate for a reply. Because Jennifer has a secret, one she’ll only share with Seraphina.
This novella was totally unexpected for me. I went in thinking that Jennifer was sad and lonely and came out on the other side with a totally different outlook of her. I really enjoyed the way this story was told, too. The letters and notes were different and kept me engaged. The big twist at the end was definitely one I didn’t see coming! I loved it!
