When you think about God the Father, what comes to mind? A faraway king who makes rules? A judge who keeps score? A kind and tender father?
God the Father's design is for earthly dads to show their kids what He's like-but many dads have done the opposite-they have distorted their daughter's view of the Father. As a result, many of us struggle in our relationships with our dad and with God, yet are unsure of how to make things better. Daddy's Girl will help you identify your misconceptions about God the Father and discover who He truly is so you can find healing, security, and freedom as God's beloved daughter!
This book is going to bless so many women and I am grateful to have been gifted a copy to read in advance. Lanna shares heartfelt stories of her own and others that relate our relationships with our earthly fathers to that of our Heavenly Father and how that earthly relationship can shape our view of God.
Though I’ve always had a close and healthy relationship with my Dad, no relationship is perfect and this book brought Scriptures to light that affirmed my identity and worth in Christ in places where I may have had doubts.
Each chapter addresses a specific father/daughter relationship issue and, through Scripture, shows how God always fills up where our earthly fathers may have fallen short.
Packed with biblical references, this is a great read to help one learn about our Heavenly Father. It’s clarifying and helpful to learn how we may project how our earthly father was/is onto God. Thank you Lanna for this encouraging, truth-filled, and life giving book!

Analysis: This book. 💕 It’s hard to even put into words how dear this book is to my heart. I was very blessed to have a wonderful loving relationship with my dad all growing up and I still do, but I know that’s not always the case. Even with such a sensitive topic, the loving truth in this book and Lanna’s gentle teaching spirit is evident all the way through. It’s like a warm hug for your soul. Whether or not you’ve had a hard relationship with your father (or no relationship), this book is the perfect teacher and reminder of who God is and how much He loves you.

Content Warning: real talk about broken father/daughter relationships
“Unlike false religions and spiritualities that say people need to put forth effort to get to their god, our God—the true God—came to dwell with us and to make a way for us to dwell with Him forever.” I loved how Lanna saturated the truth throughout this book - I found myself seeking the elegant blasts!
As I've gotten older, I've recognized how my upbringing in a home where great love, protection, godliness, and safety from my dad was rare. But, because of this, I know it was much easier for me to see my Heavenly Father as a loving Daddy.
In this book, Lanna is transparent about her turbulent upbringing with her earthly dad and how it has given her an inaccurate portrayal of God the Father, but how God has transformed her mindset by the truth of His Word. She is prudent about this very sensitive topic; each chapter addresses a misconception about our Father God by paralleling it with the humanity of our earthly fathers. I was also grateful that she didn't let us daughters off the hook. She gave clear awareness that we are to call on the Father and desire a relationship with Him. It's beautiful! I'd definitely recommend this book to ALL daughters of our Heavenly Daddy, it will bless your heart to unearth the great love He offers us!
Lanna Andersen was so kind to send me a copy of her book. I just finished it yesterday and it was such a good book!

I really enjoyed this book. Lanna shares stories throughout her book about her experiences and the experiences of others. Father/daughter relationships can be a sensitive topic, and Lanna teaches with such grace throughout the book. Each chapter addresses different father relationships and then she goes through scripture to show how God always is there when our earthly father’s may have fallen short. I loved how much scripture she used. At the end of each chapter she ended with a prayer. I definitely recommend this book! Be sure to give Lanna a follow on Instagram! You’ll be blessed.
My copy of this book is highlighted and. So many truth bombs! So much Scripture! I didn’t know I needed to hear these words, but I did. So many times while reading this book I was reminded how God is my Father, my “Abba”. I can come to Him for anything and just rest in Him. Growing up I knew I was adopted and chosen by my adoptive Dad. Even though I don’t know my biological Dad it’s ok because I have my Abba Father as my utmost foundation and am secure in Him. Lanna gives a good parallel between Dads here on earth and what they might or might not do, to what our Heavenly Father does and WHO He is! Also appreciated the truths about foregiveness and bitterness so much!
