Eluding Destiny #6

The Acquisition of an Army Part II

Rate this book
All we want is our family together again. And we're finally going to get it.

I built an army when I escaped captivity two and a half years ago. It nearly tripled in size when I released the other captives last Christmas.

And now, I've got an idea of how they can return the favor.

Micah's been missing since the day of his birth. But when he appears, only to disappear as quickly as he was taken, Jeremy and I start developing a plan. Not like the ones we've had in the past. A concrete one, stacked upon back-up plan, upon back-up plan.

With the help of all the other races in the supernatural world, including Satan himself, the two of us are going to bring our baby home.

No matter what it takes.

Wow wow wow wow this is the BEST in the series yet. So much happens. The gang have the best plan yet to get Micah and Chris back. They make even more allies along the way and we get to see the true origins of par animarum! You will never believe who tells the story to Laila and Jeremy.
Seriously I’m in awe of Charlie as this story is turning out to be so unique and completely unpredictable compared to other books in this genre. The characters are real and flawed individuals but in this book they were showing how much they have grown. Each book we get to watch and thanks to down write amazing writing experience them learning and maturing while staying true to themselves.
Sooo much more to come as well. I’m being so careful what I write on here as to read a book like this spoiler free is perfection.

This quote and the numbers below will mean so much when you read this book and you MUST read this or you seriously will miss out. Top top top can’t be missed marks 5/5

“We’re closer than we’ve ever been.” My gaze looked on the timer on the microwave. Twelve minutes and twenty four seconds. “We’re getting our son back.”

The Eluding Destiny series just gets better and better! Book 8 gives Laila and Jeremy a much needed and deserved break… in a sense. With more information on how to find their son, Micah, and raising their daughter Milly, Jeremy and Laila find themselves busy but as content as they can be. Learning more about their past and the events that lead to the catastrophe they find themselves in, they get closer and closer to bringing their son home and completing their family. Filled with edge of my seat emotions, my heart cried and rejoiced over and over. The growth and development of not only the characters, but the story as a whole has made this series jump to my top 10 favorite series. I simply can not wait to continue the story of Laila and Jeremy and see where they go and how they make the world a better place.

🚨 Spoilers 🚨

This part of the journey was like a peak behind the curtains. Obviously throughout the entire series up to this point, we have had bleeps of moments where you know this is being told from the future versions of themselves. But this book I felt gave you much more of their past lives as they learned more about who they were. I treasure that so much. I want to know more about the history between them and Lucifer. It’s seems to me there is a lot of history there.

I am still waiting to see when the “god” character comes into the time line. I definitely want to know who Peterson is from the future.

I am so glad they finally have Micah back! Finally!!!

Can’t wait to read the rest of their story!!! Then I’m diving into the origin stories!!

This book is great. Such a wonderful world and character building.
I love the mythology of the story and the way the characters grow.
Although this book is thankfully a little less of an emotional roller coster then the previous ones, you can appreciate the lesson learned.

I would recommend this book to pretty much anyone!

I had to take a short break from this series to give my mind a different kind of reading experience, but diving back in was so easy. These characters have been developed so well, it is like visiting family after being on a vacation. This book answers a lot of questions that you have throughout the series and I can't wait to see what happens next!

I really enjoy it when books get to an awaited scene and it delivered. While it did take a bit to get here, the events leading up to it needed to happen for character growth. Cannot wait to start the next one.

Only the ending was good

It took me way too long to finish this book for the length of it. Unfortunately I found it redundant and boring until the last chapter. The story is getting a little stagnant, I'm hoping the next book I'd better so I can finish out the series

Emotional damage

What a roller coaster! I cried like 5 times. I love how the writing has evolved. No more bad foreshadowing, and great characters. Good soup. Yes.
