Lemlune: Gwathren's Shadow
It was as Adamar expected, he drew his sword and backed himself and Aiya under the eaves, keeping her behind him. A black spot appeared in the sky, it was speeding toward the city. As it approached, it grew into a black, amorphous mass, tendrils extending for at least a mile. It was animated, but didn’t seem to be alive. As if under someones control.
By this time the crowd had seen it and over the next few minutes, the streets went from chaos to deserted. Still, the Shadow approached.
Aiya had the impression that if the thing did make landfall, there was no place people could successfully hide.
The Shadow flattened itself out for a miles as though to blanket the streets, tendrils extended in all directions. About a quarter mile before it reached to top of the highest building, with what sounded like a clap of thunder, the massive Shadow exploded into white light that rained like sparks landing harmlessly all over the city.
Adamar relaxed sheathing his sword. “What was that?” exclaimed Aiya.
“That,” said Adamar with disgust in his voice, “was a Shadow of Gwathren.”

Enjoyable fantasy story!
I love a good fantasy story and this one had me turning the pages.
We follow the story of Aiya (who is unsure what the energy is, that surrounds her) after she is thrown through a portal and ends up in Lemlune, a realm where other humans have come before her and where she attracts a lot of attention. She must find her way through this new, picturesque realm, encountering love and many struggles along the way.
Lemlune, Gwathren’s Shadow is a fast-paced, well-written, and enjoyable story.
I love a good fantasy story and this one had me turning the pages.

I picked this up on a whim and honestly wasn't sure what I was getting into. Glad I did.
Aiya is honestly one of the more likeable main characters I've come across in a while. She's not perfect, she's not a chosen one but she's just a woman trying to figure out a world that makes zero sense to her. And that's exactly what makes you cheer for her. Every win she gets she actually earns and you feel it.
Lemlune as a world is so well thought out. Elves, dragons, creatures with names I had to read twice, politics, history, it all fits together in a way that feels natural rather than dumped on you. The author clearly spent real time building this place and it shows on pretty much every page.
The Shadow of Gwathren scene is worth the price of the book alone. This enormous dark mass drifting toward the city, tendrils stretching out for miles, everyone vanishing off the streets, and then that explosion of white light out of nowhere.
The romance elements are fun too without being overwhelming. They add to the story rather then taking it over which I really appreciated.
I do wish it was a bit longer just because I wasn't ready for it to end. A few characters I wanted to see more of. But that's a good problem for a book to have really.
Worth your time and then some. Hope there's more Lemlune coming!

Aiya is escorted to Ashran Edhil, a mountain top settlement, where the Dragr people live—in the hope she will be safe.

The author has created and interesting, action-packed tale, though I felt it was a little rushed in places. I would have liked a slower pace at times to fully feel the characters and connect deeper with the unfolding storyline drama. Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable read.

Just as Ayia is attacked by some thugs she is sent through a portal to a foreign world called Lemlune. At first alone in this world she is rescued by a handsome Elvin who takes her to his home where she learns she has a power that makes her a target for Gwathren an evil powerful dictator who has turned part of Lemlune dark with his evilness. Ayia must go in hiding as the races of Lemlune do battle with Gwathren. But over time she learns she might be the only one who can defeat Gwathren and it leads to a thrilling showdown. This is enjoyable and well written read. The writing is fast paced and as it’s a short book can be read in a few hours. I do wonder if we will hear more from Ayia in the future.

Imaginative & Fast-Paced
I like to think it’s every girl’s fantasy to be swept away into another realm where not one but many mythical beings are in love with you! Aiya, the FMC of this story, actually gets that, but its not all rainbows and unicorns. There are hardships and heartbreaks along the way as Aiya navigates the strange and beautiful world that is Lemlune. The story is very imaginative and quite fast paced. I was left with a few questions that I hope the author answers in future books. Specifically, for some of the other male characters that did not get their HEA! I want their stories!

This was an enjoyable fantasy novel. Ayia is transported from Earth to the world Lemlune to discover that in the past, many other people from Earth, throughout the ages, have similarly been transported. Gwathren, a powerful dictator, wants to dominate the world and seeks Ayia’s powers to do so, knowing she may be the only one who can defeat him. The writing is fast-paced, and at times I felt a little too quick, as I would like things slowed down and explained in more detail. There is a lot of imagination behind the story, and the author has created an interesting fantasy world.

great read
This is the first book by this author that I have read. And it won’t be the last. The story is fast paced and flows well, it takes us on a fantasy ride which many would want to take part in, being swept away to a brilliant yet damaged fantasy world. Where the protagonist would be the one to save the world… Who wouldn’t want to? It’s a good honest story that leaves us wanting more, so I’m hoping there is more books. Good read .

Loved this story, the action was fast paced and the various scenes that showed time passing were kept simple. Love that it was the third love that lasted. The fact that the planet was kidnapping 'earthers' for the ability to save itself was a great idea. Would like to see more of this world and characters.

It is a great book. Took me a while to figure out what was happening in the story. I founded very interesting and well written. Can’t wait for part 2 of this story.
