Moon Child: The Battle of the End Days

Rate this book

The End Days are coming, and a final battle looms.

Yet even as the last day draws close, unexpected dangers appear as new enemies emerge.

Liz seeks safety, for herself and her new-found family, but can anywhere be truly safe, and can anyone hide from the coming conflict?

Vijay continues on his quest to find Rose when all else is lost, while Rose struggles to keep her followers alive and to fulfil her prophesy.

Colonel Griffin faces an even greater challenge – against all the odds, to defeat the werewolf threat through military might.

And James goes in search of salvation, offering his own life to save the world from burning.

As the world rushes headlong towards oblivion, bonds will be forged, alliances broken, and old scores settled. But lycanthropy holds secrets still, and touches its victims in ways they cannot guess. A virus brought the world to the brink of destruction, and may bring it back again, if only someone can figure out how.

MOON CHILD is the sixth and final episode in the LYCANTHROPIC apocalyptic werewolf series.

Back in January 2018 I read the first book in this series Wolf Blood. Since then I’ve been strangely hooked. This came as a bit of a surprise since my genre of choice is romance. But then I do love a good dystopian. Not generally one as brutal as this I might add but still. And certainly not one without a strong romantic thread running through it somewhere. But like I said I was hooked.

We catch up with the main characters.

Liz, Llewelyn, Kevin and Mihai along with the London kids and extended family are looking for a home.

Rose the virgin priestess now has a load of followers and no idea where to go or what to do.

Colonel Griffin finds himself where he didn’t want to be in charge. He’s in pain and wants to find Chanita but he has a war to win first.

James is planning.

Vijay grieves but along with Derek and Aasha he moves forward.

Lord General Canning is plotting as always.

And Warg Daddy (still hate that name) is waiting to die.

William Hunter is a new character. In the shifter books I’m more familiar with he would be the romantic hero. This is not that kind of book.

This is a great end to this series. I didn’t know which way the author would go. Mainly because he killed off one of the characters relatively early on. There’s no spoilers here you’ll have to read the book, but I wasn’t happy at the time.

So I really enjoyed this book and the series. The ending was really good and I was happy.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the author.

The last book in this six part series and it did not disappoint.

This was the final showdown, humanity's last stand. The first half of the book was the build-up, and how the choices made dictated the personal fates of the main characters.

There are once again strong religious undertones, but in a way not. Yes decisions were made based on faith and what our characters had been taught, and some were far more zealous in their beliefs than others. But the underlying message was one of tolerance, acceptance and forgiveness and not judging others - something which most organised religion is (in my opinion) incapable of doing despite its teachings to the contrary. It was also a pure message of choice. Do you choose to do the right thing or not and what choice do you make when what is right and what is wrong is blurred and there is that questionable grey area. The entire first half of the book was a series of choices being made by the protagonists, which dictated the eventual outcome, and as each choice was made it took you a step closer to the inevitable showdown so as such it was a slow build of tension leading up to the final battle.

The battle was well written, and even The Grim Reaper made an appearance in this book.

Moon Child brings the Lycanthropic series to a nail-biting but ultimately satisfying end. There are moments that are thrilling, funny, sad, emotional and thoughtful. The conclusion is highly intelligent and not what you might be expecting.

Enjoyable read!

I recommend this series of you enjoy new werewolf stories. My only disappointment is that the series is over. It is a interesting new idea of the origins of werewolves and vampires, but also a reminder that in the end we are all the same where it matters.

Cool Series

Was good series I liked how all the characters came together finally. However, Leanna should have been well, killed off so easily. A fight between her and Liz would have been epic. Bu I understand why the series ended in the way it had.

A fitting end to this series.

Interesting storyline in this book. It had a lot of action, with twist and turns that you did not see coming. It was sad at times and maybe a little to
preachy for my taste. Get the books and leave your reviews.

Really great series!!!

I just finished the 6th and last book in this entire series and have to say it's a winner! Very well written and I constantly had to fight myself to go forward to find out what happens before hand. I can't wait to look into more books by Steve Morris.

Great series

Not the best of the six books but does resolve everything. Great character development over six books. May be a little too "happily ever after". Too sweet

This was soooo long! Characters suddenly started speaking melodramatically. Crappy ending to a good series.

Though I loved this series, this last book kinda felt rushed to me. Like everything came to a sudden abrupt end. I was quite surprised how easily it was to kill Leanna.
