Does Your family always come first? Beaten and bloody in the depths of a cargo ship in a Tunisian port, Stephen Byfield wracked his brain to answer the questions fired at him from a murderous, mysterious English interrogator. "Where is the parcel?" If Stephen had known, he would have spat the words out along with his broken teeth. If British Security forces knew its whereabouts they would have let his murder happen. If an early morning phone call from Whitehall to a waiting vehicle hidden in the dock yard hadn't ordered an intervention, you would be reading an obituary. With breathtaking action swinging from the dusty, lawless roads and alleyways of a Cape Town township in South Africa, to the oak lined offices in government in London, England, revenge and menace are relentless and indiscriminate. Byfield is on the cusp of understanding this. Selected by Whitehall to investigate corruption amongst high ranking officials takes Stephen into a world of murder and betrayal. A world where the most senior Government officials are legitimate targets and collateral damage is nothing but dust on the polished wooden office floor. What is contained within that envelope that is so good people would die to own it? Stephen is about to find the answer, and with that secret comes misery as MI6 systematically try to destroy him for the contents. Framed and falsely imprisoned within a bleak Scottish prison, can Stephen save his family from the stalking assassin sent to kill them all, and blow the lid off the corruption happening at the highest levels?

Retiring in 2016 after 32 years service, he took the opportunity to work in the Middle East advising overseas governments in security procedures. He is married to Jo and presently living in a small village in SW France. They have a large family of five sons and four grandchildren. High Risk is the first of a series of novels based on Adie’s real life experiences.
Aidran's experience in working with some of the country's worst offenders shines through this work, couldn't put it down and really annoyed Sandy. Terrific trilogy, can't wait for the next offering.
