A First Wave: The Emergence (1)
Dr Shelby Stone and Dr Simon Wellington work together. As renowned infectious disease physicians they are called upon to assist in the pandemic. Starting in China using their model for analyzing the virus and providing guidance to the Country. Before they can finish they are urgently called to Italy to not only help stabilize the viral surge but help the hospitals as attending physicians to care for patients suffering from the virus. While in Italy and their romance continues to blossom, Shelby is called home to care for her brother. The pandemic continues to surge in other countries hitting home in New York. They both assist in New York and deal with losses of patients on a global scale. They also learn the support from the City that is shown with a demonstration for them. While dealing with their emotional past, a pandemic and a romance Shelby has to make a decision that could change both of their lives forever. Shelby and Simon have to part as she goes to Brazil as he continues the fight in the United States. As she drives off a crash is heard and Simon sees smoke. Running panicked that it may be Shelby, when he reaches the accident she is no where to be found. He only finds the blue box with blood that contained the charm he had made for her.

🏷A First Wave: The Emergence is the first book in Lisa Marie Meadows' Waves Series; there are two more novels in the series, which I will evaluate later. Before we begin the review, we should all be aware of the pandemic and worldwide disease caused by a virus; the book is about the same issue, but what if I told you that the narrative is a little different and has a love element to it? Wouldn't that pique your interest? Because the information piqued my interest.
🏷Dr Shelby Stone and Dr Simon Wellington are the two major protagonists in the tale; they used to work together and were the physicians for the worldwide spread illness. Soon after, they both began treating the affected patients, and while they were both in Italy, love blossomed between them. I assumed this was natural because they spent so much time together and were in the same profession, so they could have a good understanding.
🏷Shelby had to make a decision that might have transformed their lives while coping with their emotional pasts, the pandemic scenario in which everyone was, and their love for one other. Soon after, they were separated due to work, and the tables were turned when Shelby went missing following a car accident. The tension in the novel will be kept throughout, so read it to learn more about the narrative.
🏷The book cover is attractive, and the title is appropriate for the setting and narrative. Characters are designed in such a way that they are enthusiastic about their jobs and ready to help patients in a pinch. The romantic element between the two also altered the entire storyline and elevated it to new heights. The language was reader-friendly, and because it was a short read, it didn't seem strained.

The symptoms of the disease is nothing similar to any other diseases that Shelby have studied earlier. Shelby and Simon go to China to analyze and help in controlling the outbreak. But it's too late while they are analyzing the virus has already affecting many other countries. The story travels from China to Italy to NYC.

This author has written the impossible! A Covid Romance novel with suspense that won’t let you put it down but best of all it’s current events mixed with life experiences you’ll be able to resonate with making this the ultimate representation of modern-day reading. Enjoy.

It's an amazing non-fiction account of Dr. Patrick Treacy achievements and adventures across many countries. My favourite part about this book? The pictures ofcourse! This book is filled with pictures of Dr. Patrick's travel to so many wonderful places.
This book teaches us how life is to be lived, how challenges are to be welcomed and how much effort it takes to have the integrity to look them both in the eye, fight with dignity and come out a winner, despite losing your breaths in the battle!
I absolutely loved this! We need more novels like this one, we need stories that are original and tell the truth in such a unique way! This sure stands out and what I loved the most about it is that I could sense the honesty in the writing. It was not plastic, it was well-written but also so pure!
