Sorry to the author, but I only managed to read a few pages before losing interest and putting it down, three years ago. Reading other reviews I realise that if it ever was my kind of book, it certainly isn't anymore.
Muy difícil de seguir el ritmo. Abuso de los diálogos explicativos. Una historia que no logra cuajar. Definitivamente, no me gustó. No logré concentrarme durante su lectura.
This novel is easy to read and the glossary at the back is clever and helpful, concidering the Schott's have created a new race and language. It helps the reader to fully understand the terminology. It is well written, fast paced and the characters are impressive. They are relateable and deep and to say the least surprising. Their courage and honesty, let alone their intellegence is refreshing and makes them believeable. The detail provided by the Schott's in decribing scenes, the forest and the lake is beautiful, it provides the reader with the sense of actually being in the place, it allows the reader to have enough information about the place to be able to invisage it, as the authors intended it to be. This is brilliant and moving.
The only fault I see is that the Epilogue is pointless, it contains the bully getting a talking to and a transmission which indicates there may be another book in the future; both of these things could have been worked into the previous chapter, the need for the epilogue is null.
This was a joy to read and I am glad I could recieve it through GoodReads. A Brilliant work of fiction, one I will pass onto my friends.
This book was excellent. It captivated me from the start. The storyline is completely different. The characters were everyday people in a small town. The blurb on the back of the book doesn't give any of the storyline away and you don't expect where it takes you. I would recommend this book to read and I will be reading it again. Thank you Goodread Giveawys for the opportunity to enter and win this book. I loved it from the start to the end. No disappointments. Which is why I gave it a 5 star rating.
Im' sorry if this book review is short but I not very good at writing them. When I'm telling someone about the book, I seem to have a lot to say but when it comes to put it in writing I don't know what to write. So hopefully I will get better the more I do and hopefully they will become more interesting to read. I know they are really boring at the moment but I hope they will get better. Sorry!
Buen libro.
Clever plot; I liked the "explanation" of Biblical stories. The mixture of present, past and future made for unpredictable twists and turns. I enjoyed the inventive use of the Seln language.
