Sign me up for this spin off series! Jump on board Bullard's Battle now with book 1, Ryland's Reach.
Great entertainment, escapism with e military, black ops member Ryland and strong, intelligent Tabi who is a surgical nurse. Non stop action and we even get set some Ice here and there. Sort of like the cherry on top, that rounds out , enhances this new series. Bullard team is a little rougher, but man oh man, they make my heart beat faster. The mystery is top notch, there is no resolution in this book as to who is behind it, or where a missing team member is, but this is Rylands story and he has his happily ever after. Cain is next. Yup, I am waiting...waiting....waiting. I thank Dale, Booksprout for the arc and I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Ryland’s Reach is the first book in the new series Bullard’s Battle. For those who have read the Heroes for Hire, you will be happy to see Ice, Levi and Stone helping Bullard’s team, but they only play a minor role so you do not need to have read Heroes for Hire to enjoy this book. The book starts with the airplane that Bullard, Ryland, and Garret were flying to Australia being blown out of the sky. The action had started, and we were just starting chapter 1. Luckily, Tabi who was on her sailboat nearby was able to save Ryland and Garret but there was no sight of Bullard. It doesn't take long for Tabi to realize that saving Ryland and Garret put herself in danger. Now it is time for Ryland to keep her safe. As Ryland and Tabi race to find out who was behind the downing of the plane a budding romance was started. If this book is any indication of the rest of the new series, I can’t wait for the next book.

Ryland and his team’s trip takes a dire turn when the plane they are in explodes and they find themselves in danger of drowning. The one good thing to come out of it is that it brings Tabi into his life when she comes to their aid.

Tabi is a nurse who was out for a relaxing day of sailing when she becomes a witness to the incident, but she is about to find out that rescuing them was the easy part. Instead of the danger coming to an end it continues to escalate and if they don’t find out who is behind it she may just become collateral damage.

Intrigue, surprises and romance as Ryland and Tabi find love under the most unlikely of circumstances.

This was a solid start to this new series. Action, drama, adventure, danger, excitement, mystery and a bit of romance are combined into a entertaining blend that is a fun way to relax and unwind for a few hours. By my own volition I am posting a objective review.

Was Tabi in the wrong place at the right time or what! Ryland is trying to keep him and his friend alive after there plane went down. Just his luck a angel shows up to save him. Now Tabi has a target on her back. Can they keep each other safe long enough to figure out who is trying to kill them.

Fantastic!

I love this new series and how it incorporates characters from previous series, specifically, Ice and Levi. This story becomes intense immediately and keeps you captivated for its entirety.

Bullard has the same kind of operation as Ice and Levi in Texas, except it’s on the other side of the world in Africa. They are great friends and exchange pertinent information regarding the world’s dark side often.

Ryland and Garret, who always travel with Bullard and are his right-hand men, are together with him onboard the plane that is piloted by Bullard and heading to their next job in Australia when an explosion blasts them out of the sky.

I really enjoyed Tabi’s moxie. She is a surgical nurse and has seen her fair share of trauma so she is the perfect person to be in the right place at the right time to find and rescue Ryland and Garret from the crash site in the middle of the ocean. Bullard’s fate is yet to be determined. Their hair-raising rescue by the US Navy during a turbulent storm gives you hope that this will be a nice and easy rescue, return to shore and go on with their lives event, but no. This is just the beginning of a series of events that find Tabi, Ryland and Garret in some serious danger and fighting for survival.

There is great build up of details of a huge plot to be traversed that I’m sure is maintained throughout this new series if this author’s reputation is anything to go by. We are in for a fabulous and exciting ride, and I am thrilled that these wonderful characters, past and present, will continue to give us the exciting adventures we have come to love from this author.

A great start to a new series featuring Bullard’s team with Ryland getting the first book. After the plane Bullard, Garrett and Bullard are on explodes over the ocean, Ryland and Garret get rescued by Tabi in her sailboat. With Bullard missing, Garret in a coma and Ryland recovering from his injuries, Ryland and the rest of the team spring into action to figure out who did it and why. When it becomes apparent that Tabi is in danger as well, Ryland vows to protect the woman who saved him from death.
A great read with suspense, insta lust/love, great characters and I love the no ow women drama and no misunderstandings between Ryland and Lexi. This series is off to a great start and I can’t wait for the next one.

I love Bullard's interactions with Ice and Levi, he truly cares for Ice, but knows Levi has her heart and respects that. This book opens with Bullard, Ryland and Garrett leaving Ice and Levi's compound. They are heading to Australia to pick up the rest of their team and check yet another compound Bullard's thinking of buying. All is going well including a refueling stop in Hawaii and a chance to stretch their legs before the final leg of the journey. Then just to be sure we're paying attention, the plane goes BOOM!

Yep you heard me, BOOM! I think I started screaming nooooo at this point and trying to gain control to continue reading.

The next thing we know Ryland is holding on to Garett on floating debris. Fortunately for both of them a sailboat saw the explosion and crash.

Tabi sends out an SOS and heads towards the debris closest to her position. She was able to contact a US Navy ship in the area and they have her sailing toward them as they make their way to her. When they get there they take Garrett first since he is in worse shape than Ryland. The weather is getting worse and by the time they return her own boat is in danger. They all end up on the Navy Ship, but not for long thanks to their connections. They get Garrett settled in the hospital and escort Tabi home.

Only to find her place has been trashed.

Things heat up on almost every page even as Ryland and Tabi fall for each other.

As you've probably gathered by now, there is no sign of Bullard and they are still searching for him. Ice and Levi are involved on an information level but all of Bullard's men are involved now as well.

Serious action, suspense and a romance that just escalates with it.

I really can't wait for the next book in this series. There's seriously a lot more questions to be answered here.

Ryland’s Reach begins with a plane explosion! And furthermore, we are inside the plane with the three men as they plummet into the water below them. The author immediately grabs the reader from the beginning.

The three men, Bullard, Garret and Ryland, are returning home from a mission They are found by Tabi, a surgical nurse, who is sailing on her boat in the same area. A nearby Navy ship picks them up and takes the seriously injured men to a hospital.

While in the hospital, someone attempts to kill the men. They realize that someone is trying to assassinate them all, even Tabi. Ryland, in spite of his severe injuries, joins his teammates, as they hunt for the assassins. Meanwhile, they search for Bullard who is still missing.

Ms. Mayer has also added a captivating romance between Ryland and Tabi. However, their love story takes a back burner as they all completely focus on capturing their assassins before they do anymore damage.

The book ends with Ryland and Tabi finally able to get together. They consummate their attraction in a very steamy love scene. They also spend time together as Ryland recuperates from his injuries.

However, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Why is Ryland’s team targeted for murder? And where is Bullard?

This book is a page-turner that is filled with lots of action and intrigue. It has so many twists and turns, the reader will have great difficulty trying to figure out who are the men trying to kill Ryland and his team.

This is an exciting action packed suspense filled romance story.Ryland Roscoe,Garrett and their boss Bullard are heading to refill the plane when something makes the side blow up and the plane comes apart.Dylan's comes too in the ocean he sees Garrett an manages to get them onto a piece of debris to float until he can figure out what to do.Tabi Sutherland is a trauma nurse she needs a break an this time of year she always goes sailing as a tribute to her brother she lost to leukemia .She sees the plane go down an heads her sailboat in the direction of the debris she sees something floating realizes its someone an heads toward them pulling Dylan's an then his friend onto her sailboat she had already requested assistance a military ship is close by so they are pulled onto a rescue launch an taken to the Navy vessel. Tabi watches her sailboat sink in the stormy water. She never expected what started out as a relaxing sail turn into a rescue mission that puts her on the hit list along with the men she rescued.This story will grab you an keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters will captivate you.The chemistry between Ryland an Tabi is smoking hot off the charts.There is danger,suspense and so much more.This story will have you riveted until the very last page an leave you begging for more.

The plane they were on explodes over the ocean and Ryland and Garret are close to each other. Tabi is a nurse and is sailing nearby and manages to somehow drag them both onto her boat to save them. This was enough to make sure that they all survive a storm until a US naval vessel can pick them all up. However, for Ryland, it seems that the bombers of the plane were not content to leave them growing in the sea but are still targeting him. Tabi never expected her sailing holiday to include rescuing two badly injured men but it ended with the loss of her beloved sailboat. However, now she is finding it thought to let go of them even with more of Bullard's team coming to them to help but it now appears that she is a target too.

This was a dramatic story set partly in the ocean and partly on land in and around the hospital. There was a lot of drama and excitement as the mystery and drama built up as the story progressed. I liked the way that Tabi's protective nature started to turn into something much more. Well written and easy to understand it was a very enjoyable story. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story.

This is the first story in the Bullard's Battle series and one that I have very much looked forward to.
Black opps leader Bullard, and two of his team, ex military Ryland and Garret, were travelling in a private plane when an explosion tossed them into the stormy sea. Despite his own injuries Ryland was hanging onto a piece of wreckage whilst trying desperately to support a badly injured and barely conscious Garret. Nurse Tabi Sutherland, who was taking a vacation on her small boat, came across them.....there was no sign of Bullard but Tabi knew that she had to get the two team mates onto a nearby navy ship.
This is an action packed story that keeps you in suspense until the end, the search was started, the suspects mounted.
Who wanted Bullard's team dead ? Was Tabi's life now in danger ?Where was Bullard ? Oh, and as this is a Dale Meyer story romance blossoms between Tabi and Ryland.
This is a standalone story but it was good to be reacquainted to the lovely characters from the author's other series, it also leaves you looking forward to further books in the series.

When Bullard was leaving after a visit with his best friend Levi and his wife Ice he did not expect to have an explosion destroy his plane over the ocean. Both Garret and Ryland were with him and tossed into the ocean as well. Tabi, a surgical nurse, was on holiday in her sailboat trying to temporarily get away from people and life when she saw the plane blow and crash. She headed to the area and found Ryland holding on to Garret by his belt to keep his head above water, both men gravely injured. When they got on board her small ship, Tabi called for help finding a US Navy vessel nearby and she headed towards it. The vessel sent help but they only had room for Garret as he was the most seriously injured. By the time the second rescue team came, the storm had worsened and it broke the mast on her boat and she needed rescuing along with Ryland. This is only the beginning of the story. It goes on with Tabi insisting she would not be in danger till her apartment was trashed. This is followed by an intense search into who could be causing such harm. The fact this is much deeper than just an attack on Bullard and his co-workers is not surprising and the hunt is on. Very exciting adventure!

This new series of Ms. Mayer's starts off with a bang, literally. The action pretty much starts right from the beginning and new lets up. This new series includes some familiar faces from the Heroes for Hire series. This series is intertwined and the mystery of who is trying to kill Bullard and his team will be told in each novel to come. It's a different take in this new series and I like that.

Tabi is perfect for Ryland as she is a surgical nurse so she knows that life is precious and should be lived one day at a time because tomorrow is not promised. She is a fighter and she is passionate and well calm during a chaotic time. She rescues Garrett and Ryland but doing so puts herself in danger. She isn't a damsel in distress and she proves that more than once. Ryland is an alpha male but he isn't 100 percent due to the accident and honestly, I don't know how he is up and walking a few days after the crash.

This story was full of action and instant attraction as Bullard's team races to find out who is picking them off. It was a page-turner and it was hard to put down. I have come to expect that from Ms. Mayer's novels and she has yet to disappoint.

What an exciting start to this new series. After celebrating Ice and Levi's wedding, Bullard, Ryland, and Garret are on Bullard's private plane heading to Australia to pick up other members of their team. However, before they get there, the plane explodes and they are dumped in the ocean.

Tabi is on her annual sailing trip and sees the plane explode. So she heads toward the wreckage to see if anyone is still alive and ends up helping to rescue Ryland and Garret. A US Navy ship comes and gets them, and provides medical treatment for the men until they can be sent to shore. Once onshore, they learn that Tabi in danger also so she stays with Ryland as they try to determine who is behind this and why. And during their time together, the attraction between them grows.

Meanwhile, Bullard remains missing and it is unclear whether he is alive or not. And during an altercation, Cain is told that he is next up on the list. So Cain and Eton head to Sicily to find more answers.

After their plane exploded, Bullard is missing and a wounded Ryland is clinging to a float made of debris as well as an unconscious Garrett. Tabi spots them from her sailboat and rescues Ryland and Garrett. Taking them to a a naval ship for medical help, Tabi needs rescuing when a storm breaks her mast. This is the exciting start to this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I have never been disappointed by a book written by Dale Mayer. This book is no exception. This book is completely enjoyable as a standalone, but you will want to read the rest of the series. Even though the initial danger is dealt with and there is a satisfying end to the book, there is another link to who is behind the danger and to the next book. I also love the relationship starting between Ryland and Tabi. This is an excellent romantic suspense book. I look forward to the next book in the series.

By land, air, or sea. Dale Mayer is a winning author, as she demonstrates yet again with this first book in a new series.
Ryland's Reach hits all the high notes.. Suspense, danger, romance and mystery.
Tabi is a nurse, and she is out sailing when an in air explosion of an airplane has her racing to where the plane is scattered across a huge area of ocean. Unfortunately, she can only find two of the three men that were in the airplane.
Ryland is in rough shape when Tabi pulls him aboard her sailboat, but Garret is at deaths door.
Quick thinking and action on Tabi's part will at least give the two men a chance at survival, but at what cost will Tabi be forced to pay for her selfless actions.
This begins the suspense, danger and romance of book one in this new series.
A phenomenal read, and well deserving of 5 stars. I can't wait to see what happens in the next books in this series.

Tabi is at the right place at the right time to help Ryland and Garrett when they are close to death and her skills come in very handy in keeping them safe until they get to land. I loved Tabi for her cool and calm manner as when she loses it you know she is at tipping point and the way she handles things as Ryland and his team try to unravel who is behind the explosion things go from bad to worse for not only Ryland and Garrett and Tabi but Bullard's team. Fortunately Ryland and the team have many a source and contact but it's nail biting to see if it is enough to keep the three of them safe or if this time the bad guy has enough backing to take them all out. I can not wait for the next book in the series and desperately want to know where the missing member of the team is!!!

As a big fan of Heroes for Hire series, Bullard's team appeared many times, so I'm super super excited with this one, because it's a first book of Bullard's Battle series, yup they got their own series...yay!!!!!
This series starts with a bang, literally, it was started with a plane explosion, Ryland and Garret are badly injured and Bullard is missing, and since then it's all about trying to find Bullard and trying to find out who's behind that attack so they can deliver the payback. Lots of actions here and of course there's romance, Ryland's got his own strong resilient angel/nurse, which is soooo sweet and adorable and like most of Dale Mayer 's series the camaraderie always superb and what I love most.

It's a fast-paced suspense romance packed with actions, totally recommended to those who loves suspense romance read.

Bullard has been in many of the Heroes for Hire books. This is his story and Ryland is one of his top guys. What started as a simple return home from Levi and Ice's compound became much much more. Just as they are close to their destination and switching pilots, boom. Ryland wakes to see Garret, unconscious and barely hanging on to debris. Grabbing Garret to make sure he does not sink, he sees a sailboat coming his way.
Tabi couldn't believe her eyes when she sees the small plane explode. Rushing over to see if there are any survivors she sees two men hanging on to debris. Who knew saving two men would land her in so much hot water.
The plot the twists the turns, all make this a super beginning to Bullard's story. I simply could not stop reading.

Ryland Roscoe had traveled to Texas with his boss and friend, Bullard. Garret was along too. They had been to Levi and Ice’s compound for a few days and were headed out to pick up their team in Australia and head back to Africa. They didn’t make it.

Tabi Sutherland rescued two men from the ocean. For her good deed...things seemed to go sideways for her. But, Ryland helped her get back home to Perth, and she was going to finish her vacation. Only, it seemed she was in danger now.

This new series takes place with Bullard’s team. I loved this first book and looking forward to the rest in this series. Some unique things were going on, but...no spoil alerts here.

Tabi is out for a sail on her boat while on vacation when she sees a plane explode in the air and she sails toward the debris field where she finds two men, one unconscious and the other badly injured. A Navy warship picks them up as a storm has destroyed Tabi's beloved sailboat before all three drown. The other immediate problem is that a third man, Bullard is missing and presumed drowned. As Ryland begins to recover they realize that the plane was blown up and his enemies realize that he has survived and he continues to be a target. Not only Ryland and the rest of Bullard's crew but now Tabi as well.

This is my favorite book to date that Dale Mayer has written. I recommend it and can't wait for the next book in this series.

What an exciting introduction into Bullard's team!

Bullard, Ryland, and Garrett were returning from a trip to Texas to see Ice & Levi. After a re-fueling in Hawaii, the men resumed their trip and had an unexpected explosion while over the ocean. After parachuting out of the plane, Ryland is able to keep Garrett afloat but there are no signs of Bullard.

Tabi is taking a vacation from her rigorous job as a trauma nurse and sees the plane go down while she's out on the ocean. She arrives just in time to help the men aboard and takes them to meet a navy ship to get emergency care. What she doesn't realize is that her good deed puts her in harms way.

Can Ryland protect Tabi while figuring out who sabotaged the plane? Read and find out!

I like most of what I read from this author and this would definitely fall somewhere closer to 'liked it' than 'disliked it' but it was kinda... meh? It started out great with a plane crash and rescue and then it just dragged and dragged until the super quick climax that didn't explain or resolve anything. And boy is it exposition heavy. There were multiple scenes where the characters just wouldn't shut up and didn't really say anything of consequence. Like yeah, small talk is a thing but this small talk read awkwardly and felt like the author just padded a few extra unimportant lines onto every conversation.

Not really impressed here, I like the author's paranormal romantic suspense waaay more.

Reaching for Life

Roland is part of a highly respected, international security agency and they have an arch-enemy searching to kill their team. And now they've added Tabi to their hit list. So the team organizes their defense and plans to stop those who would kill them. Will what they do be enough? Will Ryland reach the future he never thought he'd have, and have Tabi beside him? Crisis, violence, self- protection and vengeance all bring this first book in the series to a welcome conclusion, and leave you excited for the next in the series.

I listened to the audio version and was pretty impressed with the narration. The narrator did a great job with giving each character his own voice. I wondered how he managed to keep track of the different tones and inflections used for each member of the team.

I enjoyed the book because it was fast paced and full of action. There was mystery, suspense, and danger. I also really liked the fact that Tabi was strong, intelligent, and self sufficient. When she was in danger, she wasn't happy about it, but she let the guys do their jobs, jumping in only when she had to or when her skill set was needed.

I am moving on to Cain's book soon, but I do want to go back to the Heroes for Hire series and read about Ice and Levi.

Ryland on a plane with his new boss Bullard and team mate Garret on their way to Australia to meet up wotn the rest of their team ends in an explosion in the middle of the ocean. With Bullard missing and Garret and Ryland floating, Ryland is thinking this might be the end for them. Enter Tabi on her annual sailing trip who is amazed when see find the 2 men alive. A wide ride back to the mainland and a search party is started but this is not finished yet. Tabi finds herself caught up in this but could this be her chance at the happy ever after witn Ryland???

I found this absolutely sensational . I was captivated from the very first page . This story is intense and intriguing . So Suspenseful . You cannot put this story down . Rutland Roscoe and Tabi Sutherland met under fire circumstances but the chemistry is there . Thrown together through the danger they find themselves in intense situation but their feelings grow as does the danger and intrigue . It can be read alone but I recommend reading the entire interconnected series . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This is the first book in Ballard's Battle series, it pulls you in from the beginning and the drama and intrigue keeps your interest, Tabi sees a plane goes down while she's sailing and heads off towards the wreckage, she saves Ryland and Garret. While Ryland and the team search for Bullard and who's responsible for bringing down their plane, Tabi is now targeted and Ryland is determined to protect her at any cost. Loved this story, I can't wait for the next book, I need to know that Bullard is ok, we also see past characters who we love from other series.
