Things heat up on the soccer field when a women’s team captain and a disgraced male superstar are forced to share a team.
Ellie Ward has dreamed of playing professional soccer since she was eight years old. And now that she’s a senior at Timber State University and captain of the women’s soccer team, she’s one good season away from making her dreams come true.
One good season that’s about to fly off the rails thanks to her new teammate, Zane Bryant.
Zane is a superstar talent with a major attitude problem. When a loophole in the rules and a power-tripping coach force Zane onto the women’s team, Ellie is faced with a nightmare she didn’t know she had.
And as much as she wants Zane kicked off the team, he may be her only way out of this mess.
Things start to get heated between Ellie and Zane, but Ellie’s pretty sure it’s just a normal rivalry. After all, it’s not like it could be anything else…right?
This story revolves around Zane and Ellie, who are both soccer players at Timber State. Zane is irresponsible, has no respect for authority or his teammates, feels that the soccer program is beneath him, and is just overall self-centered. When he screws up big time and needs an attitude adjustment and an overall re-branding as a soccer player, he was taken off the men's soccer team and placed on the women's soccer team using a legal loophole from when the NCAA redid their rules and regulations. His coach believes he needs a lesson in humility, teamwork and discipline before he goes pro. Zane thinks he's going to be mister hotshot running the team and getting all the appreciation from from the women on the team. Oh man was he wrong! He soon realizes that what he thought was going to happen when he joined the team is definitely not going to pan out for him. Ellie is the captain of the women's soccer team and can't stand Zane and his complete disregard of the women's team and their talents. He only sees them as a means to an end to make him look good. It was so nice to see how Zane and Ellie changed throughout the story and how they were SO much better together!
I can honestly say I was full on laughing within 30 pages at seeing Zane being forced to conform to the women's team. The coaches had me laughing so hard. The way this author wrote this story was great! I have read a couple of books by this author and I have to say this is probably my favorite one I've read. I love sports romance books but usually don't read too many soccer ones (I tend to stick to football and hockey) but I liked that I was able to follow along with the action without feeling like a complete soccer newbie.

I am a fan of soccer so the sport in this story was close to my heart. Ellie is captain of the Women's team and proud to represent her school. Zane is a cocky superstar playboy soccer player. He is portrayed as selfish and not a team player. He indulges in one party too many that ends up trashing the soccer field. His punishment is to be put on the Women's team. He initially plans to carry on as a one man band. The two female strikers try to teach him a lesson. They get their point halfway across. Ellie and Zane continue in a adversarial relationship until one night when they play one on one. Their one on one game moves into a hot time on the grass. Things start changing as Zane becomes more aware of his role in change of the collegiate game. It turns out that there are nefarious forces at work and his family is behind it. Zane has to decide if he is going to take the solitary role and jump ship or ensure the safety of the collegiate programs for both men and women. He has to decide how it all affects his budding relationship with Ellie. You will really like this read if you like Enemy to Lover themes.

Zane is part of a pretty big mistake and his coach decides to he needs to learn a lesson by putting him to play on the women's soccer team. Ellie, as captain of said team, doesn't want Zane there and tries all she can to get him off her team Sparks fly between them, on and off the field, until it erupts into passion. They then work hard together but may be derailed due to other nefarious plans in motion.
I thought this book was highly entertaining. To be honest, I thought Zane was quite arrogant in the beginning, and as much as I empathized with Ellie, I found her pretty immature at trying to get Zane off the team. However, once they started opening up to each other, they changed for the better and I thought they were such a cute couple.

Hot Hot Hot...sport angst where the players are on even playing field. This is not your nerd vs jock story. Two strong characters, both having goals, and individual focus. Thrust into unchartered territory Zane and Ellie determine who they can be on the field and off. Straight up dislike for the celebrity Zane brings to the game, Ellie makes no bones of her position. Can Zane wear her down or will he score elsewhere? Lots to learn about these two offensively and defensively. Ellie gives as good as Zane gets. Their circle of friends bring extra to the sidelines to make this story flow well, good laughs, some intrigue but certainly steamy ever after.

Ellie Ward is captain of the women's team and treats her role seriously. She wants to be a good representative of her school. Zane Bryant, however, seems to think it’s all a joke when a party got out of hand and the soccer field was set on fire. Zane is arrogant and shrugs it off as no big deal. To punish him, hoping it will make him take notice for once, he is moved over to the women's team (kind of unfair to them actually).
Ellie just wants to kick him back over to his own team. But when Ellie and Zane have a one on one match that ends up in a roll in the gram, things may start to change. Will he be starting a relationship with Ellie? Will she agree to it? Just what else is going on here?
This is the first book that I have read by Michaela Scott. I will definitely read more of her books in the future. Team Hates was a super fast read, you end up falling in love with the characters with a great love story.

The story is based around the two soccor players from the men's and Womens soccer team. When Zane is put on the women's team has punishment, Ellie the women's captain tries everything in her power to try and get Zane out of her team. It's not live before their relationship hots up.

I'm not sure what I just read. I enjoyed it (go Lady Lumberjacks and a bar called Babes!) but I also was very confused and there are a lot of editing mistakes. I feel like it wrapped up a little quickly and never quite got into the emotions like I wanted, but it was an entertaining quick read.
