Everything is finally going perfectly for Bree and the October Horses project. Horses are being adopted out, new racehorses are arriving steadily and her fundraising campaign has brought them some much-needed income. Even the more difficult rehab horses are starting to come around. But when Chloe is sidelined with an injury, Bree is suddenly scrambling to make sure the farm keeps running smoothly. And she’ll need to use every trick she knows to keep Jeremy and Chloe from engaging in a full-out war. Meanwhile… Maisy Fletcher has the whole world at her fingertips. She has fame, fortune and a Grand Prix horse that’s just about to enter the international stage. But when a terrible accident cuts her partner’s life short, Maisy doesn’t have the heart to start over with another horse. She doesn’t know if she ever wants to ride again. When she’s roped into volunteering at a retraining center for retired thoroughbreds and meets a funny horse named Chilly, she begins to remember why she fell in love with horses in the first place.

This book was exciting read until the last chapter when it moved into another life not about horses but people. Chilly the horse sounds like a wonderful horse. A people pleaser. I've own several of those kind of horses in my lifetime. They are great to be around. I would recommended this book for everyone. I gave it a five stars rating.
I loved the book. Easy to read with he gentle Ness of the riders who work with the retired horses from the track to the horses who really need a for ever home. I hope everyone could read this book and remember yours child dream of some day owning your own horse. Horses can live a very long time. My horse will be 35 years old in January.
I devoured all three books in this series in a couple of days. I love how each book tells its own story of overcoming hardships and of the bonds we form with horses and humans when we decide to truly live. These books are just the right mix of reality and inspiration without being remotely cheesy. I sincerely hope there will be many more editions to this series because I am OBSESSED.
I loved this installment of “The October Horses”. The whole premise is so interesting. Ms. McKay has such excellent writer instincts. Her understanding and empathy for both people and horses comes across so strongly in her work. Her characters are artfully drawn and highly sensitive. The recent developments within the dressage world since the Paris Olympics really made this story seem almost prophetic. Highly recommended.
Testing The Limits For Horse and Rider This book is the third in a series that would be best read in order as each episode builds upon the last. In this episode, more horses and riders come to the Rescue. Some wounds are not visible, but others are. The group is all in together getting the horses and riders to enjoy more productive lives.
Third in the series had horses in every chapter. In fact, it was more about horses than the other two in the series. I would recommend the book to horse people. Masie was great to read about.
This book had really good information about horses and horse shows. It was very detailed about horse trainers and the pressures that they are faced with. It was a very good book from start to finish.
The story has much depth along with horsemanship and a horse show World. You will enjoy the love of humans and horses. It’s a love story of humans and horses.
Another great installment in the series that basically wraps the whole thing up. I will love these characters and the horses and the setting. I am starting a new series from this author because I have enjoyed this one so much.
