Ale oczywiście w tej wersji nie tylko ma różowiutkie, futerkowe uszka, ale jest też niezwykle przystojnym młodzieńcem. Od którego zresztą bardzo trudno jej się będzie opędzić. Ale czy romans z takim lekkoduchem to na pewno dobry pomysł? W końcu Alicja miała już okazję przekonać się, że romanse w Krainie Czarów nie zawsze muszą się kończyć jak w bajce.

Too many guys in this manga are child-like rapists. They force themselves on Alice and act like confused, petulant, spoiled brats when she pushes them away and it's not cute. To top it off, she still doesn't mind being around them. There may be reasons people interact with their predators afterwards but they don't forget it all just because they pushed them off!

Review for complete series
The Cheshire Cat's spin off in this series sadly has a very weak start, although it does catch itself and turns into a reasonably well thought out series - surprisingly longer than than the main series at that. I think one of the biggest issues is that Boris' personality is quite different from what he is like in the original series and he is arguably one of the more loveable characters. In this spin off, he is pushy and possessive, borderline arrogant and strangely flirtatious. In the original, he seems a lot more innocent and perhaps more oblivious to love, he is clearly affectionate toward Alice but it is never really shown in an obvious romantic way whereas here it is sexual from the start. I also found Boris' nicknames for Alice rather off putting. As the story progresses, Boris luckily becomes a bit more mellow. While he still uses the nicknames for Alice, he shifts back a bit closer to his original personality.
The story also has a strangely slow start, I found the first few volumes quite hard to get through. That might be because the entire focus is on the back and forth between Alice and Boris. Unlike most of the other spin off series, though, this one actually has a plot besides the relationship running in the background, and it's a more than decent one that could have easily been part of the main series. It adds more depth to Alice's character and background, has some good tension and mysteries going on and also lets us get to know some of the other characters better. Ace is handled much better in this instalment than he was in his own spin off and also Peter is a much more compelling character than he was in the original series.
The series as a whole isn't as good as the main series, and I am a little sad that they didn't do Boris justice. But I do think that it is one of the better spin offs and it does add value to the franchise over all. It has a rocky start but if you can get past the first volumes it's a worthwhile read. It's also worth noting that each volume has some bonus stories at the end that also focus on Alice and Boris but follow an entirely different plot line - these are not highlighted well enough can it can easily happen that one continues reading without realising one has left the main story and moved on into the bonus which can really be confusing at times. I always flipped through the book to mark there the bonus story starts before starting to read to avoid just that.

I just don't know…
Boris was so fun and sweet in the main series that this Boris just doesn't feel like him in this volume. I can understand him being insecure, but what I can't understand is why he forces himself upon her time and time again. I felt he was one of the more respectful guys towards Alice, but he isn't like that or nearly as fun.
Between him and Blood making comments about Alice joining him in bed, I just couldn't get into this even though the actual story where there was nothing sexual was good.
Surely there has to be some spin-offs where Alice isn't treated as only a sexual pawn?

Wonderful series, wonderful book. I believe this is the best 'Alice in Wonderland' related story, or manga. Much better then anything else I've heard,read, or seen. The movie though was abit on the confusing side...Glad i read the manga first! ^^
For all the people who just happened to come across this book (Cheshire Cat Waltz, Vol.1), Don't read it quite yet. Go read 'Alice in the Country of Hearts' first. Thats the first series. Yes, its confusing, not being able to tell the first series from the second.
After reading the first series, go watch the full movie. Make sure you can understand japanese, or that it has subs! Sorry, no english dubbed.
Anyways, yes its a wonderful series. Love how quin (assuming she created the characters) creates everyone.
Alice- Shes wonderful. not too on the 'kind to everyone she meets' side, but still her personality is wonderful. And Quin kept Alice's original clothing, which helps give the younger readers (who haven't seen Disney's version, but they should) an idea on how Alice REALLY looks.
Peter- Great character. Certainly not for a rabbit though! Why would a rabbit kill everyone but its love? Oh well~
Blood- Hehe, just love him<3 Hes still the mad hatter, but hes not the kind of mad most people would think of. Hes easily angered, thats all. Kills anyone who doesn't interest him, or please him. Hes just a bit cold-blodded ;D
Elliot- Not mad either, but very shy yet bold. <3
Dee&Dum- <33 Perfect for kids XD
And everyone else is perfect. Boris is exactly how I'd picture the Cheshire cat, and no other way. :33

Stwierdziłam, że przeczytam skoro od dawna mam na półce i tak średnio mi się podobało. Bohaterowie czasem są wręcz napastliwi co do Alicji. Może jakbym była młodsza to by mi się podobało. Jednak teraz to mi przeszkadzało.
A historia poboczna była naprawdę fajna i mi się podobała.

It was ok. Not great. Maybe this would have been better if I had read Alice in the Country of Hearts. Or perhaps it just wasn't the storyline for me. There was no substance whatsoever. I found the whole thing simple annoying.

I’m kind of unsure what to think about this spin-off.
First of all, I don’t like how the story was changed. In this version, Alice lives in the Amusement Park, and Alice meets Boris differently than she did in the original. Which, I guess, could work alright, but when the book started, it just made me feel confused and like I’d missed something. Like there was a different before this one that I did not read, but I’m pretty sure that’s not the case. It didn’t really help that there was very little back story.
Second, the art is different. Now, I understand that it’s a different artist, and that’s okay, and I’m sure it’s just going to take me a while to get used to. But at the moment, I don’t like this artist as much as I did the first. Mostly it’s okay, but the people look… wider than they should.
Next: the characters are a little out of character at times. Boris, for instance, is not nearly as adorable as he was in the original, or as he should be. I loved Boris in the original, but I feel like he’s going to have to work to earn those feelings back. I’m even a little unsure of how I feel about Alice. Something about her just seems… off to me. Not sure what, but something.
Although, the more I see Julius, the more I love him. His spin-off, which I think is only one volume?, is coming out soon, and I’m really starting to think that I’m going to have to bump it up on my list to read.
The story in this volume was okay. I mostly liked seeing the other characters, but some of them were a little off, and the art was different, and Boris was too pushy. I’m just not really feeling it at the moment, which is a bit of a disappointment, given how much I was looking forward to it. I’m planning on reading a bit more in the series and hoping it gets better.
There was also an excerpt of a different manga at the end of this book, which was probably just shameless advertising, but that’s alright. It was for A Certain Scientific Railgun, which did actually look a bit interesting.

First of all, if you want more baring on the characters featured in this manga go read "Alice in the country of Hearts" first. I’d highly recommend that.
Now that’s out the way, I loved this manga. It’s the first part of the seven part "Cheshire Cat waltz" spin off which focuses on a relationship forming between the titular Alice and Boris (the Cheshire Cat). So if you’re interested in that then this shouldn’t disappoint.
Side note this manga is printed on a slightly larger than average format which I believe only adds to the appeal of the art, giving it more room to breathe. Not entirely important but just something I felt I should mention that I like a lot.

This just wasn't as entertaining as the first series. For one thing my favorite character, Julius the clock repairer, is absent. Several characters have shifted into a new land, the Country of Clover, and the rest were left behind in the Country of Hearts. There is no Clock Tower or Amusement Park in Clover and unfortunately these were the locales I found most interesting.
This series seems to focus on Boris as the main love interest. In Alice in the Country of Hearts, Vol. 1 Boris, the Cheshire Cat was one of my favorite characters. He was presented as a devoted best friend, in this incarnation he is more like a cute rapist or at the least an innocent stalker...it's confusing.
Overall, enjoyable but not as fun as the first installment of the series. I liked it but am hoping that it gets better.

Wasn't super thrilled. Seemed like just a lot of juvenile back and forth. The cat character being forceful with Alice and her being super coy and playing hard to get. It didn't have a whole lot of story line and felt kind of like a waste of my time

Ok I liked this one better than the bloody twins, and am glad that Boris will get multiple volumes. I still like Country of Hearts better, but this volume was more cohesive than the last.

It's gross and weird and hardly anything happens. It's repetitive as hell with every third page being about either: Alice wondering why she's staying there, someone grabbing her and doing something weird, or Boris pining. Ad nauseum. I see that some of the other manga's by these people are weird as hell too, so I guess this falls into a niche, but man is it weird.
It's also horribly, and I mean horrendously, anime. The amount of "twitch twitch" "Sniff sniff" squeeze squeeze" throughout was so insane that I started having them pop up in my head throughout the day. The only positive is that the book was a shockingly quick read, though it's basically cotton candy with none of the fun you can have with Alice in Wonderland.
It's a creative idea written by a bunch of horny weirdos. Do not recommend unless you're into that.

Umm... yeah.. I really hate giving one star reviews, especially with manga, when I know the artist put time and energy into the illustrations. Here we go. When I picked this up, I was unaware that it's a reverse harem, meaning, a bunch of guys (creepily in this case) chase our main girl. I'm fine with romance/love interests in books. What I'm not OK with is ONLY romance/love in books. Give me more than cute kisses and dippy declarations. Also, the same dialogue was repeated with each guy, in each frame (but especially Boris, seeing as he's the Cheshire in the Cheshire Waltz). It's harmless, but I'm not willing to invest my time into what I deem sub par six volume series (and the volumes ain't cheap). Makes me sad when this happens; I've been trying to branch out and read more manga. Now I'm second guessing the other choices on my TBR. I hope Beasts of Abigaile isn't the only good one out there. I'm giving Queenie Chan's The Dreaming a shot next time. If anyone's got any good manga recs with equal romance (preferably monogamous) and plot, hit me up.

Alice just experienced a move for the first time and got expelled from the amusement park where she had decided to live while staying in Wonderland. Of course she freaks out. But thankfully she’s got a loyal kitty cat who can’t keep his paws off her.
Note: Alice in the Country of Clover is the sequel to Alice in the Country of Hearts; both of which are based off Otome dating games. A phenomenon called 'moving' takes place, which is why the name of the country changes, and results in a few new characters appearing but a few old characters disappearing. The first dating sim resulted in a manga (by the same title) that spawned many different spinoffs. This is one of those stories.
This spinoff has 7 volumes. It’s lengthy for this kind of story, so I recommend it for the Country of Clover arc if only to understand the main backbone of the series.

I've been reading a bunch of "Alice in the Country of..." books lately and I'm not really into most of them. But... yeah, this one's kinda fun! We all have our preferences in the romance genre and Boris is ticking some boxes for me. 😽 I also own volume 2 in this spinoff series, so I'mma read that soon. Gimme all the cat shenanigans, thanks!
(Sidenote: yesterday I read up on Ace's backstory and now everytime he's on-screen I have so many feelings for him lmao, this guy. In the Country of Clover, Ace doesn't have Julius, and I'm really worried about/interested to see what he might do!)
(I'mma read up on Peter now because I don't get the appeal of this stalker guy at all; I'm hoping his background is tragic enough to make me like him more. EDIT: lol nvm I still don't like him 😂)

This is a little hard to rate but first I can say that I did enjoy it.
But I haven't read the original story in so long that i forgot how some of their personalities were so some things did confuse me or weird me out a little but I still enjoyed it for what it was.
I think I'll enjoy the second volume more or if I ever reread the original story and then reread this volume, I might change my rating.

Je n'ai pas du tout aimé ! L'intrigue de ce manga se résume au harcèlement sexuel et aux agressions sexuelles qu'Alice subit. Toutes les 2 pages un perso essaye de la forcer à l'embrasser. En plus d'être ultra problématique, c'est gavant ! Il n'y a aucune histoire ! Les personnages n'ont aucune profondeur et aucun intérêt !

I thought that this book was ok but I definitely liked the Alice in the country of hearts a lot better. I also didn’t really care for how this book started off weird and didn’t pick up in the same place the others left off which made it confusing to read but hopefully it will start to make sense one I read further into the series.

Peter threatens to kill Boris and Pierce tries to steal a kiss from Alice. Alice returns to the Hatter residence and Dee and Dum join her in the tub. Boris kisses Alice after she gets jealous about Vivaldi hugging him.

It gets a star for the art, and a star for the world building, but it loses the rest for being a book of scene after scene of Alice being molested by pretty much every character she runs into. Repetitive and not very pleasant.

This is definitely an interesting start to this spin-off series, and I'm hoping I'll enjoy the whole thing. I'm not a fan of Alice and Boris as a romantic couple, I prefer their relationship being platonic, but I'm still very curious to see where this goes!

Ok. The Country of Clover is “meh.” possibly because the most interesting character (Julius) is nowhere to be found. Time to take a break from Alice and Boris and their simpering love for each other.
