Wow, what a roller coaster ride.
Diamond wanted nothing to do with her husband by arranged marriage, her father saw to that. He did not think a woman heading his cartel would be well revived so he did what he thought was best for business and not his daughter.
Thierry Scarpetta's family had been forced out of their mafia cartel and his marrying Diamond was the road to getting back in good graces with the five other families. There was just one big problem, his ex, from the Giancana family throwing a monkey wrench in his works.
This story was intriguing and full of mystery and drama. I'm not sure if I like Thierry's personality or not. He's a very gruff and demanding alpha a**hole. But, Diamond does not let him get away with his behavior. She gave him tit for tat in and out of the bedroom. It seems as though they wore each other's walls down as they were thoroughly attracted to each other. Towards the end of the story, the readers see where they are both trying to make their marriage somewhat work.
Even though I hate cliffhangers, this story solves enough problems to where I am not angry at the end. I guess I'll have to wait for the next book to see how the Scarpettas will handle this Giancana affair.

Enjoyed!
This is my first book from this author. The storyline was good had a few grammar errors but it didn't take away from the story. I hated the fact that it ended in a cliffhanger. I would have waited for both books. The girl wants to be a boss but doesn't have boss qualities. I didn't like her attitude at all. The husband suppose to be a Don but doesn't have the power/ protection to be one. He's not Alpha enough for me. 3.5 stars

Could have been better
The book had a lot of promise, but I found the following issues:
-Typos
-Missing words
-Incomplete sentences
-Poor character development: Diamond is educated and wealthy but way too ghetto. She’s supposedly wanting to be over her father’s empire, but she has no toughness- she’s all talk. Thierry is trying to be a Don, but has no security- no minions, he walks into way too many traps.
This book could have been better, I suggest a re-write and a good editor.

This book had soo much potential, I love a strong female but Diamond really just had a smart mouth and ran her own businesses. I really only rated this book 3 stars because the cousin lover was so CRINGY like WHY did that had to be a storyline and each time it was brought up I wanted to stop reading this story because it gross me out and Diamond was childish af she got upset with him justified because his ex burn down her club and he kept it from her BUT she never told him she found out about it fully just admitted the ex was in town never admitted how upset she was about her club and how much her life was change since he entered it , that was childish of her . They never communicated they problems just slept together and forgot them. Not sure if I will read the next especially if I have to read more of the cousin love affair and since this author loves bringing it up I’m sure it will come up often .

I loved this book when I started I could not put it down. Diamond's father arranging her marriage to someone she did not know. then there is the fine as wine smooth-talking Thierry. There is Kevin her cousin she sleeps with who thinks she is his and there here down girlfriends. They get married and Thierry kidnaps Diamond and takes her to Italy. She vows she will not sleep with him. He tells her he has a surprise and it is her friend Treyanna with Enzo. They go out to eat and his ex-girlfriend (Talia) shows up after she tells them they are not wanted in any of their restaurants. Then there is a shooting outside Enzo gets shot and then Thierry declares war. I will not spoil the rest but I can not wait for part two because I am so really for it.

Diamond is a dominating alpha female with just the right amount of southern belle in her. She is a force in everything she does and she truly brings men to their knees. Upon her arranged marriage she meets Thierry and from their both of their lives are turned upside down. It’s a fight on all fronts to make things work together when so many outside factors are working against them. This book will take you thru the whirlwind of a mafia/cartel marriage that not even the fires of hell can destroy.

Really Really Really
Omg what a dang great book and I hope that you have started on book 2 because that ending was just to much. Both of them was just to much and Ivy knew she was rallying in love with Thierry. He knew if he gave her a taste it would be on and popping. I'm so glad that the father's did what they had to do. To come together to make a strong organization to take over everyone. I hate that Thierry didn't get his revenge on his ex.i don't want to give away to much because then you will get mad. Just read the book because it's a nail bitter.

Ivy Knowles had her own life, and a husband wasn’t a part of it. Thierry Scarpetta just wants to bring his family back to prominence, but he’d also like to get to know his wife too. Can the two make it work?
There were some grammatical mistakes here, and I wasn’t a fan of the beginning or another certain part, but I came to like it in the end.
You know what I didn’t like. The fact that only one book was written. I’m ready to read the sequel.

Very good read
Oh man this was a very good book by Amaya Black( I owe her a review for real). I didn't realize how good this book was going to be. I shed some tears when Diamond 's father died. But I'm glad she came around and opened up a little for Thierry (although he was an ass at first but I started liking him in the middle of the story). I know I can't wait for the second installment because I want to see what is going to happen now that he's back and she is pregnant. You got a new fan Amaya. Great book !!!!!!

I honestly hated to put it down to go to bed…I swear if I could have kept my eyes opened I would have finished this in the wee hours of the day. LOVING the story line..LOVING the plot twist (although I kinda figured something was up at the end of the book). If I could give 10 stars I would. I’m refusing to drop any spoilers, but I will say this is a must read.

Sexy, thrilling a great read
Man a great story to read right before Thanksgiving. I needed a good one, and got it. Glad to see Diamond show that bada$$ that she could be. Thierry, to be Mafia he seem a little lax.I know some women harder then him. Well we will see in part two how things go. I got mad when people interrupted me, didn’t want to talk on the phone, man, this is a good read if I’m acting that way.

Honestly, the female lead started out so strong I thought she would be a force. Turns out she's got a smart mouth but I feel like she allowed too much from this mam. The Author didn't do well with Ivy. She short changed a potentially strong character and sort of made her bow down to this man who's in Ahole. They were supposed to be equals but they are everything but and it's sad because that would have made this story so much better.

This book was good
I like the book but there was some small problems for me ,miss spelling an words that was in the wrong place in sentences. The cliffhanger ending was rush. I feel we should have feel the heat of the fire and his fear of losing it all an that his past was back to kill him. But beside all that it was a good book.

Strong Heroine
I love arranged marriage stories, but this one exceeded my expectations. I loved the strong female lead and that her friends were on her level. This wasn't love at first sight, but lust carried this marriage through some tough times. I am immediately starting the next book.

I tried to read/finish this book, but there were too many typos and subject jumping without a smooth transition. I love Ms. Black's skill, but definitely not a fan of this one.

Oh so good
This book was oh so good that I finished it in one night. Thierry and Diamond’s marriage may have been an arrangement but in the end they had some crazy hot chemistry.
