Not having a brother, I have had to learn the ways of men through my father, uncles, extended family and husband. They are different to say the least. In the past, I have written children’s stories that had a girl as the main character but have been encouraged to write something for boys. Here it is. The boys and men that I have encountered have enhanced and brought joy to my life by what they can fix, create, invent and develop with their two hands.

We have the actual book, not the coloring book, but I believe both books would be a great tool to remind young men they have a lot of potential things they can do with just their two hands. It's not a career book, per say, but more examples of things you can do (some might require education). Write a book, plant a tree, cook a meal, play an instrument. While the book features boys, this could relate to all genders.
Thank you, Julia, for helping build Parenting Across Color Line's "Little Diverse Library"! As a parent and teacher of multicultural students, it's SO great to see a book featuring and written by a BIPOC author.
