Robbing Hood If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him – Voltaire (1694–1778) If Robin Hood didn’t exist, would he need inventing? – Tom Lennox (1987 – present) Two down-trodden teachers, Hamish Sparrow and Tom Lennox, are encouraged to lead a team of fractious children on a one-week Outwards Bounds course in Nottingham. After a minor earth tremor - and under the guardianship of the resident ranger - the group depart on a venture into the local woods to find themselves transported back 900 years to the time and place of the Sheriff of Nottingham. Encompassing a lost lottery ticket, a digital watch and a stolen religious icon, the modern day adventurers are forced to come to terms with no mobile phones, electricity or any form of powered transport. A minor altercation with the sheriff’s men spirals out of control and suddenly the children face a battle years out of their time and a race to find a way home.
