Oh please, it was so obvious both of them are already falling for each other. But I love the dating test part, at least they could confirm on their feelings.

Also, seriously why the hell is this senpai hella handsome with that piercing and mole. Gosh. Yoi, too so cute and I would fall for her like senpai did.

Yoi is a girl who is constantly mistaken for an attractive guy. She's even given the nickname "Prince" by all of the girls who are infatuated with her. While most of the guys admit that she is attractive, they are generally put off by her masculine features, preferring girls that are cute and feminine. All of this changes when Ichimura, thinking she is a boy, calls her beautiful. When he later finds out that she is, in fact, a girl, he finds himself even more intrigued by her and decides to ask her out.

While I really like the premise of this manga, I don't think I will be continuing it. The MC is literally the same age as my daughter, and while that isn't an automatic turn-off, I simply can not relate to her at all. Yoi is a sweet girl, but her nervousness and starstruck behavior around Ichimura just seem so immature... and that makes absolute sense since this is her first relationship. I just can't stand reading it anymore. It's still a cute story, though, and I think many people will like it. 🩷

Yet another stellar vol in this manga series!

The official establishment of a relationship between the two main characters was exciting to see and surprisingly formal, although that was in-line with the protagonist’s personality. One niggling fact of the contract Yoi drew up between her and Ichi that I found to be completely illogical and therefore a bad plot point was her stipulation that they were not to touch at all. I understood striking out kissing and other intimate acts as she wasn’t comfortable with that, but the no-touching rule was baffling and the one moment that perfectly highlighted the ridiculousness of that clause of the contract was when Ichi accidentally touched Yoi’s shoulder and then pointedly apologised for it. Sure, the no-touching clause amped up the tension between the two characters (which, admittedly, I quite enjoyed), but logically it made no sense because if you’re not even going to hold hands or high five or brush against each other’s skin... are you even dating? Surely that’s just platonic friendship, then. And the entire point of the contract was to trial dating, not trialing friendship. Of course, this could all have been put down to staying true to Yoi’s personality of being cautious and formal, but I preferred to view it as slightly weak plotting.

Their first date was very cute which made it all the more a shame that it ended in an unsavoury way. However, it’s ending did reinforce my point from my review of vol. 1 that the relationship between Yoi and Ichi is a voyeuristic type. On the one hand, I agreed with the protagonist, Yoi, that Ichi’s obsession to be with her because he wanted to look at her all the time was unfair on her, as well as lowkey creepy and possibly problematic (those last two descriptions were opinions of my own, not Yoi’s). On the other hand, I sort of understood where Ichi was coming from when he said it was like love at first sight. On top of that, there was also a moment on the date where Yoi said she loved to look at Ichi too, so it wasn’t as though the voyeuristic tendencies were one-sided. And you could also make an argument for it being cute how Ichi viewed Yoi in a way no other guys looked at her because of her “prince” persona; something Yoi readily admitted she missed out on in vol. 1 and that was the entire reason why the amount of attention and flirting on Ichi’s part was so attractive to Yoi.

If this extensive analysis and excessively long review has proven anything, it’s that the appearance of this manga as a simple and fluffy shojo was a deceptive one—there was a lot more hidden beneath the surface to consider. And that was a real bonus for this manga!

I'm enjoying this new manga so much. As always Mika Yamamori knows how to do swoony scenes, but also the character development of each character. I love the art A LOT. I'm a huge fan since Daytime Shooting Star, but it's clear Yamamori-sensei has been upping her game. She's been growing and her art is growing with each new project. In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is superb, adorable, swoony, and what you want high-school romance manga to be like.

He really fell for her at first sight, huh? Amazing. I love the dynamics between these two so much. She's usually reserved and doesn't show her emotions a lot. But whenever she's with him, she blushes and becomes a bit shy because she doesn't know what to do with someone who easily voices out his emotions. I feel like they are very similar in a way and that's why they get along so well? This is barely the start of the relationship, but they fit so perflectly!!!!

in terms of enjoying it for the sake of romance, then i would say i enjoyed this a lot! i've been giggling and kicking my feet like an idiot. in terms of commenting on the overall text, their relationship is developing faster than a normal shoujo couple could've been (i mean, i think most of the new shoujo mangas are like that WHAT'S WITH THEM) & if a guy was as forward as ichimura towards me, i would've freaked out. also, i thought yoi-chan would just ride the flow of ichimura's advances, but i liked that she took the initiative to make his feelings clear to her because he should've done that in the first place! he seemed like a fucking playboy.

[5/5] Capítulos del 5 al 8.

Por cómo terminó el tomo anterior, ya tenía muchas ganas de retomar pronto esta historia tan dinámica y refrescante y no dejar pasar mucho tiempo entre una lectura y otra, así que poco después me aventuré con este segundo volumen de En una hermosa luna crepuscular.

El primer capítulo ya trajo una gran nueva realidad para ambos personajes principales, especialmente para Yoi que, de repente y sin muchos preámbulos, pasó de ser completamente ignorada por el sexo masculino a tener un novio, bajo varias reglas y condiciones, pero novio igual. Claro que las dudas no iban a tardar en llegar, como el preguntarse si realmente no fue un error el haberle dado ese honor a un pibe que recién conoce y, de paso, es tan diferente de los demás como Kohaku, pero para mi grata sorpresa (y la del mismo Kohaku), no dejó que esas dudas la afectaran y decidió encarar la situación.

Me pareció un detalle agradable que los amigos de Kohaku y las amigas de Yoi se conocieran oficialmente entre sí ahora que ellos van a empezar a disque salir juntos. Esa escena en la que caen los chicos al salón de los alumnos de primero impone bastante presencia (hablamos de que caen de la nada tres pibes hermosos y mayores en una clase llena de chicas más jóvenes en pleno furor adolescente) y me recuerda, una vez más, lo diferentes que son los mundos de Yoi y de Kohaku a pesar de que, a su vez, mantengan ciertas similitudes. Kohaku demostró, una vez más, cómo los demás son de palo a diferencia de Yoi, cuando nos dio a entender que siempre supo que ella tenía un par de amigas que siempre andaban en la vuelta, pero que él nunca les prestó atención hasta ahora, ya que no le importaba ninguna chica más que no fuera su actual novia.

Las cláusulas del contrato que Yoi impuso al momento de aceptar la propuesta de Kohaku de probar salir juntos son un tanto cuestionables y me hacen pensar en la gran posibilidad de que muchas de ellas se rompan en el futuro cercano. Una cláusula limitaba el contacto físico a lo sumamente necesario, y otra incluso indicaba que tan pronto uno de ellos dos empezara a sentir cosas por un tercero, su relación automáticamente se iría al garete. Me pregunto si esto no les generará problemas o mal entendidos más adelante...

El segundo capítulo de este tomo es uno de mis favoritos hasta ahora por lejos, y no solo por la portada que ya de por sí es hermosa y me la quedo mirando cada que puedo (es de Kohaku con sus dos besties), así que me voy a detener en esto un poco más que en todo lo demás.

Acá tenemos la primera cita oficial de Yoi y Kohaku como falsa pareja que funciona como ejemplo ideal de esta nueva faceta de Yoi tomando la iniciativa, ya que la idea de salir juntos fue de ella (me encantó la sorpresa en la cara de Kohaku y esa sonrisita que le sacó cuando recibió la invitación por mensaje). Me sorprendí a mí misma esperando que, cuando fueran a probarse ropa a tiendas de la ciudad, Yoi se pusiera prendas femeninas para mostrarle a Kohaku un estilo diferente. ¿Por qué? No era necesario, pero era el tipo de dinámica a la que estaba acostumbrada, el cliché donde la chica masculina sorprende al chico con un vestidito bonito o algo delicado. Me gustó que no se dio de esa manera y el resultado me pareció hasta más original, justo y más acorde con estos personajes. Ambos parados allí, vestidos con ropa que no encajaba con sus perfiles, demostraron ir en contra, una vez más, de los estereotipos y, aunque Yoi se sintiera tan confundida como yo por lo raro de la situación, tanto las empleadas de la tienda como Kohaku admitieron que ambos se veían muy bien juntos.

Me gustó también que Kohaku jugara con la regla de “no contacto físico innecesario”, siendo un poco más precavido desde la vez que Yoi casualmente lo acusó de ser un pelín posesivo. Creo que desde el tomo anterior Kohaku demostró tener cierta experiencia en algunas cosas (como cuando no entendió por qué Yoi se sonrojó tanto ante la mención de relaciones sexuales), pero me encanta ver cómo el compartir tiempo con Yoi le demuestra que todavía hay partes y actitudes de él mismo que ni él conoce todavía.

Esta cita cumple con el cometido de ambos, porque Yoi también se acerca un poquito más a Kohaku, descubriendo nuevas facetas suyas, como cuando lo ve reírse con ganas por primera vez en el parque. También es la primera vez para los lectores así que me detuve bastante en ese panel, viendo lo lindo que queda Kohaku con una amplia sonrisa en el rostro que hasta le genera ciertas arruguitas en las esquinas de los ojos, haciéndolo ver mucho menos serio y más joven de lo que siempre aparenta.

La escena del parque de atracciones es mi cosa favorita de la vida. El arte en esos paneles está on peak, con unos ángulos y perfiles hermosos y súperdetallados, y la charla que mantienen Yoi y Kohaku ahí creo que los terminó acercando un poquito más. Me doy cuenta de que son muy adolescentes y todavía tienen años luz de cosas por experimentar, pero que es lindo que justo el universo los haya hecho coincidir en esa etapa de sus vidas. Tal como le pasa a Yoi, que está viviendo muchas primeras veces gracias a él, para Kohaku, a nivel sentimental, Yoi también es el origen de muchas nuevas y primeras sensaciones. Yoi le hace sentir cosas que antes tal vez no había tenido la chance de sentir, y experimenta ciertas situaciones que antes parecían evitarlo (como cuando admite que se divirtió muchísimo en comparación a otras salidas cuando solía hacer solo lo que los demás querían y no lo que a él le apetecía).

Me encanta esa escena que cierra la ida al parque de diversiones donde Kohaku disipa un poco las dudas que tenía Yoi sobre su entusiasmo por la cita. Él, que está acostumbrado a seguir la corriente y no tener que esforzarse por demostrar lo que realmente siente, ahora parece que sí quiere tener aunque sea el menor de los detalles para que Yoi se dé cuenta de que ella no es como los demás, y que quiere hacer las cosas diferente, especialmente, con ella. Fue muy lindo ver cómo ambos se avergonzaban un poco y se sonrojaban ante la clara verdad que estaba, poco a poco, tomando forma entre los dos: esa cita y esa relación “a prueba” está empezando a generales sentimientos reales a los dos. Me gustó poder apreciar todo eso, y las mil cosas que todavía no habían dicho en voz alta, en ese silencio cómodo, en los paneles donde nos muestran cómo lidian con esa dulce timidez a su manera, demostrando lo distintos que son y cómo eso los ayuda, a su vez, a encajar juntos.

Pero no todo podía ser color de rosa y ya enseguida después de que se terminara la cita, hubo una metida de pata de Kohaku que pinchó el globo de la emoción que sentía Yoi. No creo que haya tenido una mala intención, pero es verdad que no siempre le sale bien eso de decir lo primero que le cruza por la mente. En este caso, y sin conocer de las inseguridades de Yoi, justificó ante el hombre que podría ser su nuevo suegro que lo que le atraía de ella era su apariencia, empujándolo de nuevo al grupete de todos los demás y sin diferenciarlo de las personas que admiran a Yoi únicamente por su cara.

Yoi vuelve a cerrarse en sí misma, muy confundida. Es entendible, ya que empieza a cuestionarse si en realidad Kohaku no estará jugando con ella o usando esta relación “a prueba” para pasar el rato en vez de ahondar un poco más en qué sienten los dos realmente el uno por el otro. Y sí, si bien la farsa fue creada para eso, es verdad que Kohaku nunca llegó a ser muy claro que digamos sobre lo que siente por ella, quien ya comenzaba a pintarse pajaritos en el aire. No dudo que eso de gustarle su apariencia haya sido el punto de partida por el cual él empezó a sentir cierta atracción hacia Yoi, pero llegados a este punto, creo que debe haber muchas más cosas que le gusten de ella, el problema sencillamente yace en que ni él debe saber ni entender lo que siente, mucho menos ser posible de compartirlo con los demás.

Sabía que era cuestión de tiempo para que Kohaku se preocupara e intentara entender las actitudes evasivas y los pensamientos confusos de Yoi (que siempre fueron y serán bastante más rebuscados que los suyos). Y en esto influye mucho otra grata sorpresa que me dio este volumen: la buena junta que tiene Kohaku. No es común ver a un pibe rodeado de otros pibes que le dan buenos y sanos consejos, chicos a los que no les da vergüenza sentarse a hablar (con respeto) sobre sentimientos y chicas, sobre temas tan delicados y personales de una manera tan casual que lo hace ver bastante natural. Me encanta que Kohaku pueda confiar en Sentaro y Shu en ese sentido y que haya podido acudir a ellos para entenderse a sí mismo un poco más. Tampoco es que le hayan hecho descubrir la pólvora, pero sí le dieron las pistas necesarias para que él hiciera el resto, además de que le dijeran el verdadero “amigo, date cuenta” que tanto necesitaba escuchar.

Por parte de Kohaku, me gustó que no le restara seriedad a las acusaciones y reclamos de Yoi, a pesar de que ni ella entendía realmente lo que quería recriminarle a él, y que lo meditara en serio. Me gustó un montón que no cayera en la típica etapa de negación, sino que quisiera sacarse la duda y que se mantuviera abierto a cualquier posibilidad respecto a Yoi y lo que estaba pasando realmente entre los dos. ¿Es amor a primera vista? ¿Es obsesión o manía o una simple curiosidad? Sea cual sea la respuesta, parece obvio que la incomodidad de Yoi se origina en que, para su sorpresa, quiere gustarle a Kohaku de verdad, y no ser solo una distracción más.

Ese capítulo final fue la frutilla del postre, porque se nota que Kohaku estaba un poco bajoneado o simplemente demasiado ocupado pensando en las posibles interpretaciones de sus sentimientos por Yoi, cuando llega ella a su salón por primera vez a hablar las cosas. Kohaku demuestra, una vez más, que para él a donde ella vaya es como si eclipsara todo lo demás.

Se da la salida a comer gyozas que nos debían desde la primera cita a la ciudad, y ahí se da una situación de lo más linda (momento de chillidos), pero también otra situación de lo más decepcionante. Yoi y Kohaku se ven forzados a un acercamiento físico que demuestra lo nerviosos que se sentían en realidad por estar juntos de nuevo y, aunque ya lo mencioné, no me canso de decir lo fan que soy de las escenas en las que se sonrojan porque demuestran que hasta en eso se diferencian pila, en cómo manejan sus sentimientos y reacciones. Ese tipo de situaciones me da la impresión de que nos demuestran cómo, cada vez más y más, van pasando sutilmente de la etapa de “dos príncipes inalcanzables” a “un par de tortolitos”. Pero el comentario que suelta un comensal rompió con la burbujita que venían armando los dos, haciendo que Yoi se recluyera de nuevo. Noté muy claramente la decepción en la cara de Kohaku cuando ella apartó la mano de la suya, pero eso no permitió que se arrepintiera de tocarla, sino que le dio una excusa para que, la próxima vez que salieran juntos (porque sí, va a haber una próxima vez), encontrara un lugar más apropiado para hacer de la experiencia una amena y agradable para los dos.

El final del tomo está como para cerrarlo y enseguida después zambullirse de cabeza en el que viene porque es súperabierto y explosivo, y nos podría mostrar la herramienta que encontró Kohaku, después de tanta meditación y balancear posibilidades, para descubrir y darle un nombre, de una vez por todas, a lo que siente por Yoi. Por mi experiencia lectora, no creo que se dé lo que pintan en este final, pero no faltan las expectativas y ya quiero saber cómo sigue todo esto. Me encanta cómo se están dando las cosas e incluso la velocidad tan ágil y natural en la que se desarrollan. Espero que los próximos tomos sean tan enganchables y disfrutables como estos primeros dos.

Shout out a la autora porque, al final del tomo, nos regaló unos bocetos del diseño original de Yoi y Kohaku. Menos mal que tuvo un golpe de inspiración y el diseño de los personajes, especialmente el de Yoi, terminaron cambiando a su forma actual. Ver a Yoi de pelo largo es raro y Kohaku estilo emo no encajaba ni ahí con su personalidad, así que menos mal que no fueron las ideas que llegaron a la obra final. Estoy más que satisfecha con el producto que tenemos en las manos hoy por hoy, aunque aprecio y disfruto pila ver ese proceso creativo tan único en cada artista.

Yoi, our female prince, asked Ichimura, the male prince, out and he decides to give a yes. And then she writes an extensive list of rules that will most certainly cause trouble in future. A date occurs and trouble happens and communication is wobbly and boys will, it turns out, be boys.

I have the sneaking suspicion that I should be enjoying this series a lot more than I am. Really, it has a lot of what I like in a good shojo and some very solid art, but there’s just something about it that doesn’t quite ring my bell.

On the plus side, Yoi is such a good character (her extensive sweet tooth is absolutely amazing). And all the side characters are great too - Yoi’s friends are equal parts supportive and here for the floor show, while Ichimura’s crew ends up offering some profound advice after our boy makes a profound yutz out of himself.

The date our two go out on is a lot of fun, all sorts of cute moments and banter, artfully wrecked by Ichimura opening his mouth and saying something dumb. It’s vintage young guy being a young guy, but sometimes honesty needs a layer of subtlety.

I think part of the problem is that Ichimura is a little too grabby and forceful than I tend to like my shojo boys and he’s definitely in the driver’s seat for the relationship. He certainly means well, but I find him more irritating than I think I’m meant to.

Conversely, I wish Yoi was a little stronger than she comes across. She’s got the cool beauty thing down, but no confidence to go with it. The few times she takes the reins rather than reacting in embarrassment are among my favourites in the book.

I guarantee that part of my problem stems from this not being the equal of Daytime Shooting Star. It’s unfair to compare the two, even with the same mangaka, but it’s hard not to because that series was so very good and this one is perfectly okay and I don’t know that I feel more strongly about it than that.

3 stars - maybe a 3.5, no rounding either way. I want more from this series and I couldn’t necessarily tell you what that ‘more’ even entails. I could easily see this being a 4 star or higher for some people and would totally believe it, but there’s a missing piece for me right now.

Absolutely loving this series. It’s so much fun and it’s adorable how unsure the main characters are about their feelings for each other. I love that our female lead isn’t a girlie girl. This is the song that was talked about in this volume.

Oh, no! You didn't! Don't lift me up, just to smack me down fast! I know it, in the next volume, Yoi-chan would shield herself from that kiss or maybe push Ichi away! I know the types, okay! So, don't make my hopes up! I hate you for doing that! Wails. But if she kiss him back, I'll be screaming, “Thank you very much!” haha!

By the way, the black-haired guy finally has a name! Kuwa! That's my boy. I want to see more of him! Haha!

And our Yoi-chan is finally blooming. Love really makes a young mature, huh. It may seem that they are moving too fast, but actually, they're still trying to figure out what this ‘attraction’ is all about.

They're both clueless about these feelings, that is why they are trying the test-date anyway. That is what I love about this series. It's straightforwardness, despite being confused about this thing called love. I mean, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk. I think that's exactly what the title is all about. Adorable, right? Don't you just love it when you finally crack the code and the title finally made sense?

Gah! I'm really loving it! A total meat dinner package for me! I told you before, test dating cliché is really my kind of meat. I'd be like some monster horking an animal you threw in for me! Devour it completely, even the bones wouldn't be able to run off.

Cada tomo me gusta más que el anterior. Adoro las reacciones que tienen tanto Yoi como Kohaku cuando están juntos, ver como poco a poco descubren el amor por primera vez y todo lo que implica, la primera cita, los nervios...

Es un manga que disfruto mucho leyendo, con una historia muy soft.

¡Buenaaaas! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Hoy vengo a hablaros acerca de los dos primeros tomos de la obra manga “El ocaso de la luna”, shojo actualmente en publicación en Japón con un total de 5 tomos de Mika Yamamori (a quien conocemos en España por su obra Daytime Shooting Star publicada al completo por Planeta Cómic) 📚

Pero antes de nada, ¿de qué va este manga? 👉🏻 A Yoi Takiguchi la llaman Príncipe por su atractivo y su comportamiento elegante. No sabe cómo tomarse la admiración que provoca ni que la comparen con un protagonista de manga para chicas. Es entonces cuando conoce a Ichimura, un chico de un curso superior de su instituto al que también apodan Príncipe. Es un maleducado y a Yoi le parece que no tiene nada de principesco, pero… 😏

🌕 Me han encantado estos dos primeros tomos y ya he pedido los dos siguientes que se encuentran publicados en España gracias a la editorial Milky Way 💸

🌕 Ambos protagonistas son fantásticos. La autora tiene un don para crear escenas deslumbrantes y, a la vez, saber cómo desarrollar el carácter de cada personaje 😻

🌕 Todo ello acompañado con un dibujo fabuloso✨

Eso sí, aviso ⚠️ en ambos tomos, el final es de infarto: deja con muchísimas ganas de poder hincarle el diente al siguiente tomo… No sé si esto será así en los siguientes, pero, miedo me da, ya que hemos alcanzado prácticamente el ritmo de publicación japonés y vamos a tener que una pasar por una larga espera hasta los siguientes volúmenes… 😩
