The Dates of Our Lives #7

Matched to His Hawk

Rate this book
Sometimes, it’s not the ocean calling to you… Sometimes, it’s fate.

Omega wolf shifter William spends his summers selling knick knacks to tourists and his winters building websites for his clients. It’s a good life by all measurable accounts. He has money in his pocket, a solid career, and good friends. But as he watches everyone in his circle find their mate and start their families, he begins to see what he could have. And he wants it… He wants it badly enough to break down and try the dating app he’d originally pestered his friends to use, Love And Hate.

Alpha hawk shifter Astor is done with city life. His bird hates being trapped inside all day—almost as much as Astor hates being in his office. He’s ready for a change, and when a listing for a small, turn-key bed & breakfast a thousand miles away comes across his newsfeed, it feels like fate. Little does he know how right he is.

When the B&B is less turn-key than promised, Astor is up for the task. He spends his days fixing up the place and getting ready for his grand reopening. The one thing he can’t figure out is the website. Searching online for a web designer, he spots an advertisement for a dating app. What could it hurt to sign up? It wasn’t like his true mate was going to just walk on in…

Spoiler alert: His mate does walk in after a not-so-stellar first match on the app. Awkward much?

Matched to His Hawk is the seventh book in the sweet with knotty heat Dates of Our Lives series, an M/M mpreg shifter dating app romance brought to you by the popular co-writing duo of Lorelei M Hart and Colbie Dunbar. It features a hawk ready to spread his wings, a wolf ready to give fate a push, a B&B that needs more than just a fresh coat of paint, an adorable kitten named Tiger Lily, fated mates, true love, an unnecessary nest because wolves don’t lay eggs (or do they) and a guaranteed happy ever after.

Might just be the best of the series!

Love this series and adore these two guys! Still not sure how I feel about men laying eggs... But I guess I'll get used to it!

This was book 7 in "The Dates of Our Lives" series. This was a really good read I stayed up all night reading this book. Omega wolf shifter William spends his summers selling knick-knacks to tourists and his winters building websites for his clients. William has watched his friends in his rag tag pack find mates fall in love and have babies. Alpha hawk shifter Astor is on vacation when he goes looking for gifts for friends when he meets William who ask him out. This was a good read they hook up and have a hot sexy time. When Astor leaves the next day both of there animals are screaming mate. When Astor gets home he finds out that his job is going through some changes so he decides to buy a B&B in the coastal town. Astor has a lot of repairs to do at the B&B including getting his website up and running. When his friends convince him to try the dating app William agrees but doesn't find anyone to go out with although he does talk to someone who has a cat as a profile pic when he gets a job to help the new B&B owner with his website they both get a shock. I loved this couple they begin dating and getting to know each other the scene with the toy was very funny. The others on the group accepted Astor of course they all know he has a big package. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I also want to read a book about Mateo and his mate.

William the Wolf and Astor the hawk make a great couple. The plot flows along very smoothly. I would have liked to have had more excitement in the story,

Super cute
Alpha hawk shifter Astor is on vacation. He came because he wanted to spread his wings without the fear of being attacked or people finding out he was a shifter and he felt so at ease. He started to think that maybe city life wasn’t for him but he couldn’t just up and leave he had nothing here, there was no work here. Then he finds out that the B&B on the other side of the island is up for sale. On his last full day there he goes to the tourist side of town to buy some presents for his friends back home and this is where he meets Omega wolf shift the William.
William longs to find a mate all his friends around him seem to have found theirs and started a family and they all look so happy. William was happy with his life he had a good on season shop that he is sells all his knickknacks and then when it was off-season he was a web designer.
When he meet Astor, his wolf went mad he knew he had to have him and before He could leave the shop William asked him to have dinner with him. And of course the Hawk shift agreed because he was feeling the same way about William.
The passion and the chemistry between these two is off the charts. There are a few twists and turns along the way but honestly my heart just sawed for these two. I couldn’t read fast enough and I cannot wait to read more about this amazing group of people who support each other and have their backs it’s just a brilliant series.

I don't mean to sound dramatic, but I have had it with this series; the writing is awful! I have tried three different books in this series, trying to give the authors the benefit of the doubt, but I've had to DNF all of them. I don't know whether it's because these books are written by two separate authors or what, but the writing style is stilted and hard to get through. And the worst part is that it's not anything significant that I can point out. Just numerous, little moments in the story where things don't quite fit, like someone has a reaction/response that seems out of place or something is missing in the scene set-up but suddenly comes into play and I'm like, "Where the hell did that come from?" But all of those little things add up throughout the story to make me feel frustrated enough to give up reading a book that's just giving me a headache; and that is exactly what happened with the other two books that I tried in this series.

I have no idea if anyone else is picking up on the awkward moments or weird pacing of the writing, but seeing so many high ratings is making me feel like I'm the only one really looking at the quality of it all. I know how much effort goes into writing a book, but I wish the authors had put in a little bit more to really make sure how it would read from the POV of their audience. I am not trying to bash on the authors, but they need to go over this series again to smooth everything over.

Fate always has a plan.

William is an omega wolf and Astor is an alpha hawk. Another unique, yet fitting, fated mate pair.

William sells goods to tourists. Watching all of his friends find their mates and have families, he suddenly longs for his happily ever after.
Astor's hawk is unable to handle the city life, so he decided to make a few life changing decisions. Taking on a B&B was part of the plan. but it became less turn key and more fixer upper. As loneliness settles in, he decides to get back into the dating pool.

Dating app to the rescue. Add to that a whirlwind of misunderstandings, embarrassing bedroom revelations in public, side characters from previous books working their mojo, learning to let go and come together as a family, and yes, the much anticipated new addition.

This series just doesn't seem complete without all of this and that coveted happily ever after.

Fingers crossed for a few more matches.

Astor and William story was entertainingly sweet. When they first met sparks were involved, but sadly they both thought it was a one and done even if they couldn't forget each other. Only that fate has plans for them by making possible several and unexpected encounters. There were some misunderstandings, and some mistakes that they had to get over with to reach their happiness.
It was amazing to see old characters, their shenanigans and how they helped them unknowingly to connect and to help in their times of need.
I liked the pairing between a hawk and a wolf, how they integrated both cultures in their lives, the surprises they had thanks to their mixing with each other, the happiness, and the bundle of joy that resulted.
It was an amazing read and can't wait to see what happens next.

I absolutely adored reading the story. William is a wolf shifter who is ready to settle down but trying to find the right alpha male partner is hard. Just before the end of his summer season he meets up with Astor who is a hawk shifter and the attraction is instantaneous. They have a one night stand and then Astor goes back to his job in the city. When his job becomes redundant, Astor comes back to the bay and buys an Inn. William is moping and remembering his time with Astor and wishing that he would come back to be with him. What follows is a hilarious story, where two shifters are so into each other, but they have personal reasons to doubt their attraction. There is a HEA and an egg is laid and then they finally mate.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.

Your dream alpha goes home. Can fate bring you back together?

I love the Dates of our Lives series! I have been waiting for this book. I was not disappointed. My old friends welcomed me back with open arms. Like always, this is a sweet, hot, low angst journey to HEA. Yeah, there are some twists you never saw coming. All good! This story features omega wolf William and alpha hawk Astor. A chance vacation hook-up, a life- changing move, the Love & Hate app, zany loyal friends, hilarious hiccups, sexy times, and a nesting scene you won't forget. Ooh, you are gonna love this book! The blurb for the next book is here, too. I can't wait. Please, read the previous books in order. Time. Well. Spent.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Good Karma, is hating your job and not loving your life, then getting liberating news. Astor, A-hawk shifter feels stifled and wants to spread his winges, literally. William O-wolf, was content managing his shop and his side business. He was starting to feel a little lonely, since his friends were finding their mates and starting families. At the end of his vacation, Astor wandered into William's shop and they had a instant connection. After a wonderful, date Astor mentions he is leaving the next day. Through a series of fortunate/unfortunate circumstances, William and Astor reunite. They have a series of miscommunications and misunderstandings that complicate their relationship. Do they finally figure out how to effectively communicate? Nice storyline flow. Found family still histerically supportive. Great story, well done! Astor, an alpha hawk shifter, is on vacation when he meets William, a wolf shifter, and there is instant attraction. But as it is his last day, Astor returns home. When his company restructures a few months later, he buys a small B&B in the town William lives in.
The book describes William and Astor's way to become a couple with a child. The story is fairly typical with few surprises in the story line. but it is well-written and entertaining, engaging the reader from the beginning with their first meeting.
The book is part of the "Love&Hate" series, but can easily be read with out knowing any of the other books.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the connection between Wolf Shifter Omega William and Hawk Shifter Alpha Astor even if they had some minor setbacks to finding their happily ever after. I loved their found family/pack as they all care, love and support each other and are total family/friends goals. Tiger Lily the wee kitten that Astor found and adopted was completely adorable. I had a smile on my face throughout the story. I’m looking forward to reading London’s book next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

ASTOR AND WILLIAM GET A SURPRISE

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Astor, an alpha hawk shifter, is not really happy with his life. William, an omega wolf shifter, is lonely and wants a mate. They meet on Astor’s last day of vacation and their animals want them to mate. They pine for each other, and Astor’s life sends him back to William’s world. This story makes the reader wonder why the two can’t open up and let the other know their true feelings. There is a HEA that helps the reader feel good about the ‘new pack’ and Astor and William’s future.

Love this series and this was a brilliant addition to it.
Alpha Actor goes on vacation and meets Omega William.. Have a one night stand , Actor's hawk and Williams wolf saying mate but never got any further as Actor's holiday finished.
Actor went back to the city, but couldn't forgot about William. Then there were changed in his job, and a Bed and Breakfast came up for sale where he went on holiday. So he sold up and moved.
William came along to do his web page. And their knew relationship started.
Thoroughly enjoyed, can be read as a standalone but good to read the whole series as all previous chats mentioned.
Highly recommend

**ARC Review**

Again...Loving the match ups in this series. This story has the Alpha hawk with an Omega wolf...really special and unique. Astor and William really hit it off at the beginning...some intense attraction going on right there. That one time hookup led to a lot of missed opportunity moments...hilarious embarrassing moments and eventually the forever after romantic moments. The guys have a wonderful "pack" of friends that are truly family. It was so sweet to see them rallying around William and Astor during their nesting phase...these moments in the books are really what makes this series special and entertaining. Loved the ending and can't wait for the next story.

The latest in one of my favorite series by these wonderful authors! Astor is losing his job in the big city after a vacation in a great little coastal town where he met William. After finding a B&B for sale in that same town he makes the huge decision to uproot his life in the city and become a business owner. Many pitfalls and new furry friends await him. William is pinning for the Alpha that got away, some tears and many laughs come when they meet again. Add in one big surprise pregnancy and you get one wonderful book!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. William and Astor hook up during Astor's vacation and never forgot each other. When Astor moves to William's home town to taker over the Inn, they hook up again both through the dating app and business reasons. Despite brief moments of insecurities they both manager their busy lives and plan for a future together as mates and fathers. I really liked the description of their first pregnancy and how unusual it was.

A sweet shifter romance with a lot of humor and ease!
Our two main actors, a wolf and a hawk, are experiencing a lot of surprises together, which are a big fun to read.
Anyhow, the story was not so fluent all the time and it felt more like a pushed through comedy.
Still it gave fun and some sweet moments, especially together with all the other friends from previous episodes of the series. Sure a great read for an easy summer night on your balcony or holiday.
I received this book for free but leave a review freely and voluntarily because I loved reading it.

Astor and William's Story . . .

Astor is an alpha hawk shifter on vacation. He meets William, an omega wolf shifter, and the two of them both feel a strong attraction. But it is Astor’s last day of vacation here and he returns home. Will something bring him back to meet up with William again?

This was a cute and fun story and William and Astor, two lonely shifters, are perfect for each other. Even the secondary characters were personable and helped to move the story along. Is there a HEA waiting for Astor and William? Are they ready to try for a family?

Matched to His Hawk is Book 7 in the Dates of Our Lives series. Astor, a alpha hawk shifter, wants to get out of the city so he ends up buying a B&B, that has seen better days, in the small town he had vacationed in. William, an omega wolf shifter, lives in said small town and had hooked up with Astor when he was on vacation. Now that he's here to stay, William wants more of the alpha. I love this series. I love how there are so many different kinds of shifters living together as a community. This is such an enjoyable sweet book. I recommend this book and series, and can't wait for more.

A cute story, I love seeing the friends find love

This is a paranormal shifter romance with mpreg, the seventh book in the series snd should be read in order to understand the context of the “Dates of our lives” series. This series follows groups of friends who find love in a shifter dating Ap or in and around the community of such. This is William snd Astor’s story which is low angst, sweet and hot in its own way. A cute story but the available stories wear down after a bit, but this had a nice twist!

Sweet. While the app is still playing a part we're getting something closer to meet cute scenes, which I appreciate. Astor and William make for a sweet couple.

I kind of miss the couples in the city, those of the second and third book pretty much vanished and those of the first are only relevant because of the app and shifter world. I understand why the change of location needed to happen but I still kind of wish we had more of the first three couples. The separation makes it feel more like we're reading two separate series versus one.

Great story

I have absolutely loved this series. Each story is about a new couple but since most of them are set in the same town we still get to visit with previous characters. I also love that there are so many different pairings. In this story we have a hawk and a wolf and they were so good together. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Matched to His Hawk by Lorelei M. Hart and Colbie Dunbar is the seventh book in the Dates of Our Lives series.  Sweet, sexy, and fun.... I love the dynamic between William and Astor.   The side characters were funny and added to the feel of the story.  Entertaining and made my heart smile, I LOVED THIS ONE!

The Dates of Our Lives is a fun and sweet series. I think Matched to His Hawk was one of the better ones--mainly because a wolf and a hawk are matched and were not sure what they would have--an egg or a pup. Astor and William are great characters along with the rest of their packmates. Recommend this series.

Great story! Love the interspecies sides.

Contains: hawk/wolf, mates marking, nesting, egg.

New owner of an inn needing a web designer. It just happens to be the wolf he had a one night stand with once before, his current match on a dating app and his new web designer. When Fate arrives, she arrives with force.

Matched to His Hawk

Astor and William

This time, we got a hawk and wolf shifter mating. I am thoroughly enjoying all these different pairings that you wouldn't normally see. I love how everyone is one huge "pack". That they are there for each other in their time of need. Amazing family dynamics.
