Now I'm mad because I only wanted to change the pic of me as an author and keep the old pic of me as a book reader/critic. If it's not one thing... no, it's usually the one thing. Chronic dissatisfaction then laughing at myself for being chronically dissatisfied. I'll probably be pissed when I'm dead that there's not more to do.

this actually WAS my best book. it was also, by my own admission, literally IMPOSSIBLE to read. any time anybody tells me that they both read this AND finished it, my response isn't to ask them whether they liked it or not, but to stare at them in astonishment and ask them rhetorically and with my mouth hanging open, "You DID?!?!?"

And the Word became flesh

I just love it when someone has the gift and talent to translate the Word into a modern outlook while highlighting the original spiritual gems. This was really good stuff! I went in apprehensive because of the language, but really, once you move past it and the 600+ pages, a beautifully written story is revealed. This author's creativity in bringing forth Mary's story and time spent with Manny, his disciples, and so much more was genius. It gives you a lot to think about.

Continues to prove, storytelling is an art!

The use of biblical theory was masterful! To bring things to today's age and open the pages to the realizations of single-motherhood that effects so many nowadays, was absolutely brilliant and entertaining as well as teaching for those who are unaware. Keep up the powerful art of storytelling RK Byers!

An intriguing treatise on religion and societal mores. Somewhat classical kind of Black urban shakespearean tour and critique of life's abstracts. Love, religion, politics, relationships, culture, history. This piece expands the mind and therefore is an excellent book club book! No limit on the discussions! Will make a great stage play too! KUDOS to RK Byers!

Wonderful story! It wasn't what I thought it would be, initially. I guess I based that off of the cover.
A pleasant surprise as it is a much more involved work that is masterfully told. I don't want to ruin it for future readers so I will simply recommend this read.
