It's very difficult to review the second book in a trilogy without giving spoilers, and it's my policy to avoid giving spoilers whenever possible. This book does exactly what the second part of a trilogy is supposed to do—it ratchets up the tension and primes us for the third part. There's plenty of action, a ticking clock of sorts, and at least one twist I did not see coming. If you enjoyed "Rankin's Posse," you will enjoy this sequel as well. I certainly did.
This fast moving, well written continuation of the first book keeps the next twist in the plot a surprise as our admiration for this former outlaw/ novice lawman uses every insight, every skill he’s tucked away over the years to challenge the vicious killers. You’ll jump into the next book to follow this story to its conclusion. Enjoy!
This Weston contained a lot of action and some romance. I found the descriptions very realistic, but overly wordy. The hero is a an ex-outlaw who ‘s past is forgiven by the town and he is appointed the sheriff position. He proves to the towns fathers that he is worthy of their trust.
This is an excellent three book series. Peecher uses the entire trilogy to develop each character's personality more deeply than would be possible in a single book. The strong interactions keeps you riveted to the storyline. Fun read.
This second novel in a series of three is fast-paced and exciting throughout. Marshall Rankin his heart on the trail when his already captured nemesis escapes again and the chase is on.
Black Jack Doucette just does not want to die. Marshall Rankin would very much like to see him in the ground. He tried bringing Doucette to justice once and the army let him get rescued. Now Black Jack wants revenge and he wants Rankin to pay. His marriage to Izzy might just be the way to do it.
