Okay, so I’m in trouble. Big trouble. I’m broke. Worse, my boyfriend of five years just dumped me.
What do I do? I move in with my three eccentric aunts in their family home, Davenport House. Sounds exciting, only this massive farmhouse likes to eat men. Yup. If I were a regular human, I would have run out screaming like a banshee. As a witch—I do absolutely nothing. Hey, maybe they deserved it?
’m back in Hollow Cove, the flamboyant paranormal community, where nymphs, werewolves, trolls, shifters, witches, and other paranormals live comfortable lives away from prying human eyes. As I settle into my new life, I decide to accept my aunts’ proposal and join the family business—the business of protecting our town and killing anything that would want to harm it.
But I’ve been away from the paranormal world for quite some time, and my magical abilities are a little bit rusty. Heck, they’re practically invisible.
Things soon spiral down the crapper when people in our community start dropping like flies. And when demons start showing up in Hollow Cove, it’s up to me to take care of them. Permanently.
This is going to be awesome. I just know it.
Get ready for this heart-pounding and laugh-out-loud magical adventure!
This bundle includes: Shadow Witch, Book 1 Midnight Spells, Book 2 Charmed Nights, Book 3

Sometimes you just need to read a book that makes you laugh and completely takes you away from your current situation. This book was super cute and funny!
“The Witches of Hollow Cove” compiles into a single volume the first three instalments in this UF series by Kim Richardson: “Shadow Witch”; “Midnight Spells” and “Charmed Nights”.
The series follows Tessa (FMC), a witch in the early thirties, who after trying without luck to made it New York, came back home to Hollow Cove to live in Davenport House the family state, with her three eccentric aunts. As part of the new situation Tessa begins to work in her aunts’ agency ‘The Merlin Group’, a magical version of a P.I. office, that is always under the fierce scrutiny of Chief Marcus, who is not exactly amused. (Shadow Witch).
As the annual Night Festival in Hollow Cove (which lasts for whole five days), is the perfect opportunity for all things that go bump in the night, actually go ‘bump’ during the Night Festival 😉. Tessa just got her life together, just before she is the suspect in the killing of the seer, she just visited. Now, she would have to investigate the murder and find the real culprit to avoid ending up in jail forever. (Midnight Spells)
After the events occurred at the Night Festival Tessa is – as usually - in supernatural trouble. Her Merlin license has been revoked and in order to get it back she has to complete the Witch Trials. And to make things worse, the baker has been poisoned, and a close ‘friend’ is the main suspect on the murder. But do not worry, multitasking is Tessa’s speciality (Charmed Nights).
Shadow Witch, Book 1 - I loved this story, the first in a series that i am now addicted to. I loved the characters and laughed quite a few times as I read it. It was so addicting that I read it in one sitting to see what crazy interaction Tessa would have next. Just a well written story that drew me in from the first chapter and kept me to the end. I loved the mix of magic, mystery and danger with the town of paranormals. Now I need the next book just to see what happens next. I loved Tessa.
Midnight Spells, Book 2 - Tessa, her aunts, and the rest of the town are back for another fun adventure. A big town arranged party is on and of course things go wrong. Add in a cute guy, death, danger and a a bunch of entertaining characters and you get a great story. I laughed and was entertained. Just a great story. Tessa and Marcus were a blast as usual. I received a copy and I honestly loved it.
Charmed Nights, Book 3 - Tess seems to be have a bad spell. Between issues with Marcus and her family, and the trial she has to do to keep her merlin badge, Tessa is not have a fun time, especially with the ending of the previous book. It was a fun read and made me laugh and groan and really wonder what else could go wrong this time around. But I was wildly entertained and could not put it down. I love Tessa and her aunts. They always make me laugh. Love reading to see how Tessa will survive and win in the end.
(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)
3.75*
First time read the author's work?: No
Will you be reading more?: Yes

------------ How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author) 4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author). 3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series) or 3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)
All of the above scores means I would recommend them! - 2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.) 1* = Disliked
Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)
• Shadow Witch, Book 1 • Midnight Spells, Book 2 • Charmed Nights, Book 3
Tessa is a 29-year-old witch as the story begins who, broke and dumped by her cheating boyfriend, returns to Hollow Cove to live with her three aunts. Her aunts run an investigation office called THE MERLIN GROUP (“Magical Enforcement Response League Intelligence Network”) tasked with protecting the town against all kinds of evil, so with a little arm-twisting, Tessa joins them. Her magic is a bit rusty from lack of use, but she has bills to pay and debt to work off. Follow along with her adventures as she helps her aunts deal with evil demons and investigates murders to find magical killers. There is never a dull moment!
All the feels of women's fiction, with lots of paranormal characters, mystery, and action. Something was always happening, making these books fast paced and exciting. Tessa is nearly 30, and just got dumped by her live in boyfriend of 5 years. She returns home to a small town filled with paranormal residents. Tessa is a witch, but thought she had little power. Under the guidance and with the love of her 3 aunts, she discovers her power and their responsibility as protectors of their small town. Lots of interesting mysteries to solve, evil people to fight, and a slow burn new romance.
I really enjoy these stories. I love the sentient house, the witches are eccentric and fun, and the mystery is entertaining. It is great to have the first three books all together so I could binge read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'm loving this series Can't wait to see what her Mother is up to. Kim has once again out done herself. The characters just jump into at you. Great series Kim. Off I go to the next book.
Fantastic blend of Nancy Drew meets Harry Potter. Can’t wait for the next book in this series. Want to move to Hollow Cove. Too bad i’s only for supernaturals…. (Sigh)…
Fast paced, but keeps you guessing. Great heroine - sassy, smart, determined, loyal, beautiful but not perfect. Could be a little more disciplined at her age.
Light, fluffy cozy fantasy. First two books you knew whodunnit immediately. But a lighthearted cosy romantasy to read. Very small books and you breeze right through them. Interesting take on the 3 Aunts - Ruth, Dolores & Beverly (Golden Girls - Rose, Dorothy & Blanche).
